A unit resides at a factory along with other units, however this unit has unique programming and thus steps out of his work area and into the open hallway, where he stumbles upon the Organizer, a towering bot who takes him back to the work area again after shortening his circuits. After making enough mistakes, the Organizer takes Unit over to a dump and sends him down, along with the other imperfect machines that have been sent there. Unit however manages to escape by piling together multiple machine pieces, thus giving him enough height to reach the exit. Once he’s made it out, he makes it across another hall, when suddenly he sees the Organizer again thus prompting him to hide at a nearby room. He then steps outside said room, via a window and enters the factory’s outside bridge, where he sees a more advanced model darting from the distance. Unit decides to follow said model, and crosses the bridge, until shortly making it back to another room again, it is dark however he has a light bulb that helps him see better. After making it across another hall, he suddenly gets targeted by a bunch of supervising bots who chase after him, however he manages to lose them in another room full of other units ready to follow protocol. As Unit makes it across the next hall, an alarm goes off, alerting all units to get back to their programing, regardless he pushes forward. Whilst he makes it through the hall, he sees the model again, darting away and chases after her, thus making it through another hall. It is then however when he runs into the Organizer again, who chases after him before he manages to escape by crashing through a window, as he pummels down to the ground. Unit has now arrived at the muddy part of the factory, he walks forward and sees that model again making her way over to another part of the factory and follows her close by.
Once Unit has made it across the second part of the factory, he makes it through another hall, he looks through a big glass window and sees multiple units in formation, awaiting the director’s instructions. Unit continues moving and makes it to the furnace room, where more units are getting processed and readjusted via technological advancements. Unit later makes it upstairs the factory and reaches the roof where he meets the model again, who jumps down the balcony along the distant city view. Once Unit makes his way down again, he exits the factory and approaches the city, that is said to have once been inhabited by humans who've disappeared ever since. Whilst there, he sees the Model again, entering a skyscraper and decides to follow her once more. Unit makes his way up until sure enough reaching the roof again, and meeting the Model who stops and finally introduces herself. Model has been at this factory for quite a while, waiting for the perfect suitor, she then jumps off again, before prompting Unit to follow her again outside the city, Unit heads down over to the trail, only to accidentally trip and fall over a cliff that sends him tumbling down a mud hole that has abandoned units dug right under. Whilst maneuvering his way through, Unit eventually takes a break only to get back up again after getting covered by dust. After making it through a pathway, he notices something different from a unit sticking from the mud, until it suddenly pops up, revealing a bigger, messier bot, or Mudbot who introduces himself with a friendly demeanor. Mudbot explains that it’s his job to clean up after all the discarded units down here, and that he’s happy to have finally found a visitor, regardless he points Unit the path that leads out of the mudgrounds and down a tunnel that leads to yet another inside district.
Whilst Unit maneuvers his way through the halls, he notices more units more advanced than before getting sorted out, similar to before as they are ready to get shipped off. It was then when he runs into the Director, a figure who’s hidden in the shadows above him, insisting Unit has a lot of promise for his army and vision for the future, and convinces him to reach his deepest potential. Unit steps away from the Director and over to another room, when suddenly the exits close off thus shutting him in. He then gets taken by what appears to be an elevator when suddenly the exit slams open again and Unit gets transported over to a huge boiling pit of lava! Unit tries to make his way out, or hold on to something, but it is no use as he is slowly but surely inching his way closer to the fire. He then spots Model from the distance, who manages to shut down the escalator thus giving Unit a chance to escape! Unit makes his way over to a bridge, closer to Model, as she takes him over to the nearest exit. Once the two have made it outside the factory again, they go through the bridge when suddenly they get ambushed by a group of advanced units who chase after them, when suddenly the bridge gives way as all the units fall down meters below while destroying Model and Units entry to the factory. Model and Unit later make it to the surface again, that’s covered in mud and grass as they come up with their next plan to leave the factory.
Model and Unit later arrive at an empty train station, where Model claims a train will come pick the two up and get them off this island. After a while the train still hasn’t arrived, and it’s unclear if it ever will, the two decide to head back to the factory for the time being. While crossing the abandoned city, they see the director’s unit army in formation, Model claims the director wants to lead a movement across the world, and that he is just about ready to unleash his army, however she believes there may be a way to move past that, or even diffuse it altogether. She then takes Unit over to another part of the factory that’s more hidden, where they arrive at what appears to be a laboratory. Inside they find an inactive giant robot unit, otherwise knows as the Destroyer, or D-14 for short. Unit has heard of this unit across the factory, along with posters depicting it, and is stunned to see it in person. At this point, Unit is wanted everywhere across the factory as a refugee, and it appears he and Model have run out of options at this point. Once the two exit the laboratory, Model could have sworn to see D-14’s eye pupils glowing red. Once they make it outside, the two are then surrounded by more units coming their way, however before they could get caught, D-14 suddenly bursts out of the laboratory and gets ready to destroy everything in its path. All the units try to unite and fight but it’s no use, as it continues destroying the factory with its heavy artillery. Model and Unit make their getaway however there isn’t enough time to reach the train station, at this point the factory was getting set in flames as it slowly crumples to the ground. Unit later makes it over to a cliffside as D-14 slowly approaches him along with other units. Having nowhere else to go, Unit takes a dive and lands head first into the ocean meters below, as a wave rides him far away from the once factory. D-14 continues its rampage from the distance, whilst Unit or whatever’s left of him gets swept away to a distant shore.
The End
As Unit slowly gets inched over to the boiling pit of fire, he manages to dismember his arm and throw it over to a nearby bridge before the rest of his body gets incinerated. His arm later gets retrieved by Model, who figures it’s likely from Unit. The arm then guides Model over to another part of the factory, as she maneuvers its halls and rooms and eventually makes it to a hidden room where robot units that haven’t been publicly shown are displayed. It is then when the arm’s energy suddenly gets transferred over to one of the bodies, similar but shinier to what Unit had before, and regains his consciousness and mobility there. Now that Unit has found his new body, he and Model make it out before getting spotted by several units and thus getting chased away from the factory. Once the two make it out, they later make it over to the landfill, where more destroyed units are discarded on pills, once Unit and Model get surrounded by the hostile units, Unit then comes up with the idea of sending an electric circuit, across the inactive units, thus causing them to get up and become active again. The units then charge each other, as Unit and Model make their getaway, along with them invading the rest of the factory. Model later takes Unit over to a hidden laboratory and shows him D-14, however the scaling bot remains inactive, having nowhere else to go the two later arrive at the mudgrounds again, where Unit reunites with Mudbot and the three stay there for the time being, as everything else goes by across the factory.
The End
Unit gets taken slowly to the incinerator before he throws his arm over to the bridge and the rest of his body gets melted away. Model does not retrieve his arm however, and at this point Unit has already adapted to his new advanced body and heads over to the city where the rest of The Director’s units are meeting. Model darts from the distance, as she sees all the units approaching the city together, however she notices that one unit has a missing arm, and recognizes its likely Unit and thus goes after him. During a good timing, Model approaches Unit and takes him over to the train, believing there’s still time for the two to escape the factory once and for all. Unit manages to regain some of his former sentience and follows Model as she drags him over to the train station. The train then comes by and the two hop on board before the Director or any of his other bots show up, the train then marches off. Model sits with Unit as the two leave the factory, it appears Unit’s former sentience and circuits are having trouble adjusting, thus it’s unclear how he’ll function throughout this past time. Regardless, he and Model have now left the factory, and are free to explore whatever’s ahead of them.
The End
The Inventor was in charge of creating the Director’s bots and advancing them and has since been working for the factory for quite some time, along his other personal projects, most notably the destroyer. Rumor has it he let loose the destroyer to destroy the factory, after getting frustrated due to the lack of reception/appreciation, regardless ever since the Inventor has stayed out of view and has likely already left the factory prior the events.
