School of Dark Arts
Nerve, an ambitious fellow, hangs out at the library destined for greatness, along with several other hollowed students sitting down along with the strict instructor, who’s here to teach everyone the “fruits of their labor.” Everyone is then expected to sit and read all the basics they can, however Nerve has different plans and instead of sitting, grabs a more different advanced book from a shelf, which suddenly casts a big blue spell that freezes its surroundings. Now mad, the instructor gets up and urges her guards to seize Nerve for his "blasphemy", however Nerve quickly grabs another book, which this time turns the students into pigeons as they all fly away. Right before the guards reach Nerve he grabs one last book which casts a fire spell, thus incinerating them on the spot as he and the Instructor are the last standing. More mad than ever, The Instructor deals with Nerve herself and rushes towards him with a battering whip, Nerve quickly leaves the scene and tries to avoid her, all while dropping books in front of her hoping it does an effect. Finally he picks up a book and throws it at the Instructor, which self-destructs thus blowing her apart. Now with the Instructor dealt with, Nerve heads over to where she stood with several books floating around him as he’s now this classroom’s teacher.
Now bored, Nerve leaves the class and heads forward across the halls, where he suddenly runs into a cloaked figure of some sort as it emits a dark aura. Nerve quickly rushes back to the classroom, and decides to pose as a teacher thus the cloaked entity lets him pass through. Nerve continues through the empty dark halls, though he could sense the cloak watching him. He then walks toward a crying masked boy, wondering if he could accompany Nerve, thus joining him on his venture. He points at the “detention” room, one to fiercely avoid, though it piques Nerve’s curiosity as he decides to venture in. Once Nerve steps in, he is immediately emitted by darkness and steps out before shutting the door. He then continues on his way before stepping outside, all the other rooms appear to be locked or empty. Nerve wonders what else he could possibly do to make a name for himself, to which the masked boy, or Vetta insists there’s a second floor which may be of curiosity. Nerve takes the time to reflect on himself and his power, and once he’s confident enough finally steps in the complex again to see what else is hiding.
Nerve enters a hall of stairs and enters the second floor, where he enters a huge hall that appears to be the teacher’s lounge, filled with tables and chairs. No one’s here at the moment, until suddenly a huge blob monster shows up, slowly filling up the room and charging right at Nerve, however the latter along with Vetta immediately teleport out via a book and end up at a library. Nerve quickly looks around for a book that could help combat the blob and decides to pick what appears to be a fiery spell. Nerve teleports back along with Vetta, however the blob is nowhere to be seen, only black specks littered around. Vetta and Nerve continue, where they make it to another hall of stairs that leads across a labyrinth. Nerve tries to analyse the directions while making his way across with Vetta next to him, until suddenly they get ambushed by the blob again! Nerve is one step ahead however, and casts a lever which moves the stairs thus causing the blob to slip and fall down multiple stories below them, thus they continue. After making it to the tallest floor, they reach one last room, Vetta tries to pull Nerve back however the latter ensures him it will be alright. The two then step in and are greeted by a man sitting at a desk, or otherwise the principal.
Nerve and the Principal have a bit of a talk, where the latter offers Nerve a high position as a student. Once Nerve turns it down however, the latter suddenly casts some dark orbs that charge right at Nerve. He quickly grabs a book to counter, which freezes the whole area along with the orbs that disappear and the principal. Nerve approaches the principal who then fades away into dust, when suddenly the whole office slowly crumples down forcing Nerve and Vetta to quickly leave via the exit. Not knowing what to do, Nerve and Vetta stay at the top floor for the time being and look up at the sky, wondering about their lonesome purpose. Nerve turns around, when suddenly he sees the principal again, flying among the sky with a gleaming eye, as the staircases shift drastically along his mystic aura, ready to commence a real battle. The two then battle, as Vetta gets to cover and they counter each other’s blows and magic. Nerve then falls down via the Principals fire blast causing him to fall down multiple stories, however in one of his books he suddenly gets transported to another world, this one more cheerful and peaceful than the world he’s stuck at currently, before teleporting again and landing on the school ground close by. Nerve gets to cover as the Principal hovers above him, thus coming up with a plan.
Nerve enters a quiet lobby, where he meets Lorie, a goth girl who shows him a painting, which she claims can transport him to another world and ever since has been looking for its entry. The painting looked similar to the world Nerve got sent to, regardless, he and Lorie head over to the library, which is filled with huge bookshelves. The books then zoom around Nerve as he can feel their power elapsing, thus he gets ready to face the principal again. Once he arrives at the halls and through the stairs, he doesn’t encounter him though, however once he makes it to the office the principal suddenly ambushes him from behind with a magic blast. Nerve deflects it however and quickly defeats him with a powerful magic spell, causing him to disappear again. Nerve then sits down at his office, thus replacing him as the school’s new principal, with Vetta shortly arriving at his side. Despite this, Nerve quickly gets bored of his position and decides to head back to Lorie to check in on the painting, eager to cross its border.
Lorie insists she still has to sort everything out as she has been this past time, in the meantime Nerve gets curious with what’s outside the complex he’s stuck in, or what other paintings there could be out there for that matter. He sees a town outside the window, which gives him the idea of perhaps increasing his influence, while making a bigger name of himself. Nevertheless, he steps out of his office and runs into the former principal again, along with his students who charge at him before the latter blasts them away with the principal’s magic. He then faces off against the former principal, while during their battle the staircases suddenly fade away along with their magic as they pummel to the ground together. The principal heads over to Nerve to finish him off himself, however Vetta suddenly shows off and finally kills the principal by stabbing him to death. Unbeknownst as to what happened, Vetta shows Nerve over to the library where he burned a bookcase or the school’s magic source, thus eliminating it hence the two lost their magic during the battle. The two then meet Lorie, who informs she’s finally found a way to access the painting via a brooch she found. Before entering said painting, Nerve is curious as to what other paintings this school could have to offer, and sure enough enters an altar full of different paintings that depict different worlds. Regardless, he and Vetta join Lorie through the one at the library, where they enter a new world to live a more wholesome life.
The End
Instead of meeting Lorie, Nerve instead enters the dark gloomy city he’s spied on, ready to increase his influence there with whatever glory awaits him.
