Cupid is an unconventional girl who lives at a conventional city, where she runs into London, a silly yet responsible individual who’s accompanied with gloomy Giselle and is happy to guide the two across town. Cupid eventually gets interested in a garden she spots nearby and decides to take a look. Once she enters, she meets Giselle again, along with her friend Rex who discuss the garden’s potential origins. Cupid finds and takes a nearby path, as she crosses its greenery she makes it to a bunch of little caverns and meets Guru, a fatherly figure who insists this town has a lot of mysteries and that he’ll be more than happy to help her in times of need. Cupid later enters an open peculiar cavern, where she finds a portrait of a burning castle, indicating a prophecy of some sort, she sees Giselle from the distance, already analyzing the environment around her and decides to get a move on. She follows an open path surrounded by grass which eventually takes her over to a festival where she meets Lotus, an organized-neat individual and Dyna who’s quiet, two seemingly residents who insist they are planning on rebuilding the festival again and could use Cupid’s help. Cupid agrees to help for the time being, as they pick the decorations together, however she later decides to continue moving forward and keep exploring. She makes it across more of the town’s bright houses and streets, indicating this was indeed once a civilization, and eventually a church, where she meets Guru again, who invites her to pray with him. Regardless, she makes it out back to the neighborhood again, where she meets Aura, a polite and seemingly noble individual who invites her over to a nearby restaurant, claiming the two have a lot to discuss. Cupid follows Aura over to a comfy cafe, where the two enter and Aura places Cupid’s order. As the two continue their discussion, and Cupid expresses how she wants to stay in the town some more, the lights suddenly turn dim, and everything turns dark. Cupid later wakes up in a dark room in a chair, where she meets Wild, a strange chaotic individual when suddenly everything turns dark again and Cupid finds herself at the restaurant again by herself.
While Cupid navigates the town some more, she runs into Polaris, a daring individual who’s currently outmaneuvering the officials of the city and warns Cupid she’ll be in big trouble if she rats her out. Cupid continues moving, where she runs into Rex who wonders what type of spectacle he’ll produce here at the town, although there aren’t that many residents around. Cupid tells him that there’s a festival that’s being planned out, and that she’s just been thinking of heading back in to help with the decorations. Once Cupid comes in, she decides to help Lotus and Dyna some more, until eventually heading out again. She eventually arrives at what appears to be a praying ground, where she meets Guru again who tells her this is where the town’s former residents are remaining, or their spirits at least and that it was a place to honor their memories. Nowadays, the grounds themselves are merely a memory. When Cupid asks Guru what happened to the town, he simply states that it’s a “mystery”, indicating that not even he may know the answer. Cupid turns around and along with Guru suddenly spots Aura and Wild spying on her from the distance before darting off and wonders how they could have tracked her down. She then quickly realizes that Wild sneakily put a tracking device on her and takes it off before leaving the praying grounds again, but not before Guru gives her a strange blessing of some sort, telling her to be careful of its usage. Cupid later heads on out again and meets Lotus who claims the festival is just about ready to go. Cupid is happy to check it out, Dyna did most of the planning and although it is small, they still managed to make the most of what they had. Lotus tells Cupid the date and encourages her to come over before the latter drifts off again.
Cupid arrives at the festival once it is ready to commence, along with some other familiar faces. She sees Rex who’s already mingling with all the guests and ready to put on a show, multiple lights turn on and the festival finally starts, along with some funky music while everyone’s enjoying the vibe. Cupid however notices one strange light close by, almost luring her somewhere and decides to follow it. She then slowly leaves the festival as it was playing behind her and follows the grass, until she encounters Aura who knocks her out with an electric stick. Cupid later wakes up inside a castle, along with Giselle who's cause of getting here remains unknown. Aura then shows up and greets the two, along with Wild claiming they shall meet him at the main room explaining he’s got a lecture for the two. Feeling like having no other choice, Cupid follows Aura along with Giselle to a stunning room, where Aura lectures them about the town and its “principles”, and what it takes to be an upstanding citizen. Cupid later gets dismissed and heads outside to her former room, where she surprisingly finds a strange map, likely from someone before her which plans out an escape of some sort. Cupid takes the opportunity to follow the map’s introductions and slowly navigates her way through the castle unspotted before making it outside the garden where she makes an escape through the grasslands and a bridge. She later runs into Guru again, and exclaims Giselle is still at the castle though Guru is afraid that there’s nothing they can do to help. However, Guru encourages Cupid to look for missing materials that make up a key, which will give her entrance to a castle floor believing it will be practical for her.
Cupid goes exploring across the town’s forest, where she meets Roman who strikes up a conversation with her about the town's structure and so forth, until Lotus eventually butts in and argues with him. As the two have their moral debate, Cupid sneaks away and loses the two, and later runs into an encrypted message of some sort, along with a pumpkin beside it. While trying to figure it out she walks back to the town, where she suddenly sees Wild again hiding among the bushes, presumably spying on her again. Once she heads back, she meets Kite, a compassionate soul who aims to help this town in any way she can, and wonders where to start. As time passes by, the town slowly becomes more alive and colorful, as its residents help with the decorations and livelihood. As Cupid goes strolling across the lively neighborhood, she’s already found her own living place, and considers living at the town full time, however she suddenly runs into Wild again and decides to tail him in case he’s got any plans. She follows Wild over to a lonely cavern and spies him through the window where she sees him painting what appears to be a burning castle, similar to the portrait she saw earlier. In disbelief, Cupid waits for Wild to exit the cavern, however once he does, he suddenly appears in front of her, catching her red-handed. Wild admits he’s got something big going on, however in order to figure out his surprise Cupid shall meet him at the castle, once the “flame prophecy” is ready to commence. Wild then disappears through the dark, before Cupid heads back.
Throughout her stay, Cupid manages to find four of the pieces Guru mentioned and decides to meet him near the castle to show him. Once she meets him, Guru gives her the fifth piece, thus giving her the tool she needs for entry. After Cupid arrives at the floor Guru mentioned, she opens the door and enters its halls, where she meets Rush, a highly suspicious investigator with bookshelves who believes there’s something unseen about this town and is busy trying to find it. Cupid learns that the flame prophecy is a prediction made that the town’s main castle will burn by a natural cause, and also when it will happen, thus she knows when to meet Wild. Cupid also learns about the “Pumpkin King”, a mysterious figure who wears a pumpkin for a head and is said to be ruling these parts. Before Cupid leaves however, several figures pop up out of nowhere, as they drop down their decorated flags and banners across the castle, with Aura then revealing himself. Aura claims that it shall be grounds of his newfound principles, like a ritual of some sort and that Cupid won’t be going anywhere this time. Once she and Rush get escorted however, the latter has a plan and throws down a smoke grenade and leads Cupid over to a secret path that leads out the castle and to the garden. Cupid later reunites with Guru, who swears to have known nothing of Rush and the invasion, regardless Cupid also meets Hobie who claims she has a plan to change this town and invites Cupid over to the cafe with her. Once the two arrive and Hobie explains her plans for this town, she encourages Cupid to consider joining her before walking out. Cupid later strolls across the neighborhood again, where sure enough Hobie is on the rooftops, orating her plans and making sure the town remembers her name.
As time passes by, the flame prophecy is about to commence, meaning Cupid is ready to head over to the castle to confront Wild. Once she arrives, she meets Wild at the center who’s ready to give her a big confession, that the prophecy is fake. It turns out he made it up in order to fool the town as an "experiment" while Cupid takes time to process this, it appears someone else was listening among the conversation, which is where Roman shows up, ready to punish Wild for his treachery. Once he approaches Wild however, he steps on a metal crate that electrocutes him, knocking him out. Before anyone could have guessed however, a piece of the castle suddenly catches fire which quickly spreads, thus forcing Cupid to make a run for it straight to the exit. Once Cupid makes it out, she sees the castle in front of her, still standing in a heap of flame. It’s unknown what caused the fire to begin with, though regardless it appears Hobie was also here at the scene, until she heads back to town. Cupid heads back too, and in the meantime decides to head back to the forest for a while. While taking a relaxing stroll, she runs into Polaris again, who appears to be hiding in the woods for an unknown reason, warning Cupid to not rat her out. Cupid eventually finds a hidden pathway that suddenly takes her to an unknown library where she meets Guru again, who invites her in claiming they've got much to discuss.
Cupid and Guru spend the remaining time at the library, still wondering what could have caused the fire. Regardless, Cupid also wonders what the message could be about and brings it up to Guru, until he suddenly comes to a realization that it wasn’t just a message, but a timer and convinces Cupid to head over to the forest again by nightfall, believing it could also be tied to the castle’s flame. Not having anything else to do, Cupid rushes over to the forest, where she suddenly gets startled by an orange smoke grenade and a man with a pumpkin head, the Pumpkin King! The Pumpkin King exclaims how he’s been summoned here and insists he has a game to play before the blood moon and then disappears via a smoke again. Not believing what she just saw, Cupid heads back to the town again and back to the castle to meet with Rush again, who insists that the King is behind all of this and that he only has to prove his guilt. Cupid heads back to town, ready to play the King’s game in order to uncover the town’s deepest mysteries until she suddenly gets ambushed by a group of figures who capture and take her in.
Cupid gets hurried over nearby the burned castle and over to its garden, where she meets Aura again, who insists he’s doing this for “her own good” and that she shall get shipped away from this town to not return. Sure enough, Cupid gets sent back to the city again, where the path is closed off as she stays in the garden. As she ponders in sadness, she then meets Giselle and London again, who’ve also been returned to the city again, however Giselle has a plan on getting them in again, claiming there’s a secret entrance she knows aside from the main one. Cupid follows Giselle over and sure enough the two make it back to the town again, alongside London as Cupid gets ready to find the King’s first pumpkin. Cupid eventually believes they should head over to the once standing castle in order to find the next one, however during their way they run into Savannah who’s enforcing Aura’s movement. Luckily, they sneak past her undetected and make it to the castle, where they also meet Kite who’s here to help them solve this mystery. Once they find the pumpkin, Cupid finds a riddle and pieces everything together, as they later make it to the praying grounds, and then the church, which appears to have been mysteriously destroyed also. She later makes it to the festival, where this time she, Kite and London meet Dyna again, however as soon as they spot her, they get ambushed by more of Aura’s spies coming their way, thus forcing them to retreat. Whilst Cupid and the others make a run for it, they bump into Giselle again who leads them through a hidden path across the grass that leads them away from the spies. Alongside Giselle is also Wild, who’s decided to join Cupid’s adventure, glad to hear that he’s changed sides, the Pumpkin King shows up again, cheering everyone “bravo”, and that they found all of his pumpkins thus they are now ready to take the train.
After the King disappears again, Giselle leads Cupid across a path that leads to a train, which she takes alongside Giselle and Wild as London and Kite stay behind. Once they take the train, the blood moon has risen and the three go across a hefty roller coaster, as their surroundings frantically change colors, regardless Cupid gets a great view outside from the town, brighter and livelier than before. After a thrilling ride, the train stops and Cupid gets greeted by the King again, who ensures that Cupid has something of his he wants. When Cupid hands him over the blessing, the King gleefully insists she has one last place to go until she reaches the end of their adventure. Giselle and Wild stay behind as Cupid heads out on her own, noting this is something she has to do alone and by following the king's tracks reaches the castle’s garden again, where this time she gets confronted by Savannah again. Cupid sneaks past her and makes it to the castle after the latter spots and chases after her, Cupid then makes it to a room akin to a throne where the doors lock where she meets the King again, who congratulates her for her big find and that she is now ready to become his “seeker”, now that she knows the town’s history and culture. King invites Cupid to sit down, when all of a sudden she is surrounded by spies, who unroped themselves with different dresses and are now here to enforce her will, almost like their new queen. After a dramatic spectacle, Cupid heads out the castle and takes the train again, where she later makes it to her new comfy home, where she will be staying for the time being, with her and the town being as renewed as ever.
Based on what Cupid saw, the town has been abandoned by its civilization, with the rest of its inhabitants eventually dying out, and the town’s current culture being threatened, however there’s also hope as this town now has a chance of finding a new tomorrow, for the better or crazier. It’s speculated the King was an inhabitant once, but regardless his past is shrouded with mystery, and ever since the blood moon he hasn’t been seen since. As for the town’s current inhabitants, London stays at Cupid’s side, Giselle and Wild continue exploring the unknown together, whereas all the other inhabitants Cupid met have now settled here, except Savannah, Polaris and Aura who have left now that the spies no longer work for the latter. Rex also left due to getting bored, and Dyna has been last spotted by the forest along Lotus, presumably looking for the spy's former whereabouts. Kite and Hobie now work together to contribute to the community, albeit in different ways. Roman managed to survive the castle’s fire and is hanging out with Lotus as the two continue debating with one another. Rush decided to confront the King head on, believing he’s this town’s real traitor despite everyone else’s beliefs, regardless his encounter remains inconclusive.
The End
