Chapter 7. A Fresh Start?

Biboy's sister took the initiative to take care of him, as she lived far from their hometown, and it was the best move for Biboy to have time to reflect - away from his gang and vices.

For the first few weeks, Biboy struggled due to the residual effects of the drugs still in his system. Sometimes, he felt the urge to take a hit or get drunk, but with his family's support, his mind slowly began to clear, allowing him to think properly.

With the change in environment, Biboy started to show real emotions. He cried when he learned that two of his friends had been laid to rest - without even getting the chance to see them one last time. He couldn't do anything about it, as this was part of the agreement he had made before his sister took him to his new home.

With no other choice, Biboy had to adapt to his new surroundings. Fortunately, the people around him were kind, lived differently, and followed a more God-centered way of life.

Everything was going smoothly for Biboy until one day, he saw his sister arguing with her husband. He didn't know the reason, as it happened outside the house, and he wanted to avoid getting involved - especially in matters between a husband and wife.

However, something caught his attention. He noticed his brother-in-law trying to force his sister off the motorcycle, lifting the vehicle aggressively. When Biboy saw his sister return inside, a sense of unease settled in. He feared that things might turn physical, and he was determined not to let that happen. He stayed alert, hoping they would resolve their issues peacefully. He knew his brother-in-law to be a kind man, but something had clearly changed.

Thankfully, that night ended without further incident. The next morning, the couple seemed fine, as if they had worked things out. Biboy thought it was over, but the arguments kept happening. A feeling in the back of his mind told him this was more than just a typical marital dispute - something serious was going on.

He finally confronted his sister, asking her what was really happening, but she refused to answer. Determined to uncover the truth, Biboy didn't have to wait long - because the answer unexpectedly fell into his lap.

There had been another witness that night, someone who had remained silent but had seen everything. Feeling guilty for keeping the information to herself, she decided to approach Biboy and tell him what she had witnessed.

From her account, Biboy pieced everything together, like a puzzle, until he reached a terrifying realization: after forcing his sister off the motorcycle, his brother-in-law had followed her inside the dining room - He grabbed her by the neck and squeezed before finally letting go, which explained the marks on his sister's neck the next morning.

That was enough.

Hurting his sister was unforgivable.

Biboy was furious. He wanted to avenge her - the sister who took him in, fed him, and sacrificed for his well-being. But the problem was that the man who hurt her wasn't just anyone. He was someone Biboy had grown close to, someone who had also opened his home and heart to him. The kindness this man had once shown now became a shield against Biboy's rage.

Biboy found himself trapped in a moral dilemma. He couldn't act recklessly - especially knowing they had a one-year-old child, a baby Biboy took care of every day while his sister and her husband went to work.

With no one to turn to, Biboy started praying, asking God to help his sister's family heal.

Weeks passed, but nothing changed. The fights only grew worse.

Then, another piece of information surfaced - something that confirmed Biboy's fears.

His brother-in-law had started using meth.

Biboy knew then that things were not going to be okay.

With a dangerous substance involved, this was only going to get worse.

With so much chaos going on and feeling like the place he once called home was falling apart for the second time, Biboy started thinking about returning to his old hometown. He felt it was the right time - it had been so long, and he missed his friends and the gang.

Without telling his sister, Biboy decided to go back, planning to stay for just a day before returning. However, when he arrived at their turf, he was surprised - where was the welcome wagon? Instead of familiar faces, he was greeted by people he barely recognized, though they seemed to know a little about him.

He stayed in the area until, finally, he spotted a familiar face - Jordan, who had remained loyal to their gang. Jordan welcomed him warmly, and the two talked for hours.

Through their conversation, Biboy learned that after Melvs and Joe's deaths, gang activity had slowed down, and their group had significantly shrunk. Some members had joined other gangs, while others had formed their own. With no one left to challenge them, rival gangs had grown more powerful.

Jordan was hopeful that Biboy's return could change everything. As one of the OGs of their town, Biboy still carried influence. Jordan was convinced that if word spread of his return, many former members would come back, and they could rebuild their gang to its former strength.

But that wasn't what Biboy had in mind. He had only come back to reminisce and pay his respects to their fallen friends. However, he didn't want to break the news to Jordan - not now. It wasn't the right time, and he didn't want to hurt his feelings.

To avoid getting discovered, Biboy quietly returned to his sister's house.

When she asked where he had been, he made up an alibi, telling her he had been out looking for a job.

This became Biboy's routine every two weeks. He knew his sister would eventually find out, but he couldn't help himself - he felt lonely and was still searching for a sense of purpose.

One day, when he returned to his old town, someone was already waiting for him. Gray, a member of their gang, was there. In recent years, Gray had become more involved in criminal activities.

Biboy was happy to see him, but he knew he had to be cautious.

There was always a chance that Gray had been influenced by other gangs - gangs that might still hold a grudge against them.

Then, one Friday, for reasons even he couldn't explain, Biboy decided to tag along with Gray. Maybe he just wanted to keep himself busy, to distract himself from the emptiness left by their fallen friends.

But the more you try to bottle up your emotions, the harder they explode when you can't hold them in anymore.

That's exactly what happened to Biboy.

Once again, he found himself in danger, on the verge of becoming a victim of illegal substances.

It all unfolded so fast. Gray had taken him to a borrowed room, a place where people indulged in illegal activities.

Biboy felt the temptation creeping in - stronger than ever, intensified by a mix of loneliness and fleeting happiness.

And then, he gave in.

He took a hit.

As the substance coursed through his veins, he felt it - that familiar rush.

Once again, Biboy was a slave.
