She's disappeared. Not completely, mind you, but she may as well. Most days, she feels like a shadow fading on a wall. Does anyone notice?
Not really. They may notice her from time to time. Not the real her. The one she hides so well.
They say time heals all wounds. Well, not this wound. No amount of time passed or passing can heal it. Ever.
People who know her would say she would heal if she'd allow herself to. She has tried. Again and again. Yet, he's everywhere. She tries not to think of him. Not to see his face or hear his voice.
She tries, but it never works. Some days are better than others. Some days she hardly thinks of him at all.
Then...
He comes back, crueler and sharper than ever.
He told her that once she saved him. From what? She's never saved anyone in her life. No, it wasn't her who saved him. It was God.
She used to think he loved her. Maybe he did once. Or maybe he thought he loved her.
Then, without a word, he walked away. Twice.
He hasn't come back. He won't come back.
So now, she's left with only shadows.
Maybe one day, if she's not very careful, she'll vanish behind them.
