This particular unit #13-13 in an old estate near Tuen Kit Secondary School had been left unoccupied for years. It had been rumored that whoever entered the unit were never seen again. As such, no one had approached the unit to date.
One day, 4 secondary school students from Tuen Kit Secondary School, Julian, Dawn, Adrian and Heather decided to explore the unit to see if the rumors were true. They met after school. Although it was daytime, the students had a feeling that something eerie was going on. Nevertheless, they were undeterred. They took a lift to Level 13. As the lift ascended, the eerie feeling in them intensified, as if to say, "I have a feeling that something bad is going to happen."
The lift reached Level 13. The students made a beeline for unit #13-13. The unit was surprisingly unlocked. Julian, the leader of the group, pushed open the door. As the living room was dark, he used a torchlight to find the way. The living room was surprisingly clean, which contrasted with rumors that the unit had been unoccupied.
"I just remembered something my friend Morgan told me," Julian said. "From what I heard from my friend, who used to live at this estate, the previous owner of this unit disappeared on Friday the 13th. A few hours later, his body was found near the cliff. Till today, the cause of his death was still unknown. That was when rumors about the unit started."
"Today is Friday," Dawn said.
"And it's the 13th too," Adrian added.
Just then, they heard footsteps approaching the unit. "Quick, hide," Heather said.
The students hid behind the sofa. Just then, they saw 3 men enter the house. They were behaving suspiciously. The students were shocked to hear the men discuss how to smuggle drugs into Singapore. They had also killed the owner of the flat as he had refused to partake of their illegal activities, and staged his death to make it look like he had died under mysterious circumstances. After that, they spread rumors about the unit to avoid detection. Fortunately, the men went out after receiving a call, giving them the chance to escape the unit.
The students decided to go to the police. Adrian had recorded the men's conversation when he unintentionally turned on the voice recorder on his mobile phone. With the evidence the students provided, the men were swiftly apprehended.
After the incident, the estate was demolished. Julian, Dawn, Adrian and Heather were commended by the police for having solved a crime. As far as they were concerned, the case was closed.
