The Hui family had been living a quiet life. Danny was happily married to his wife Shirley and they had 2 daughters, Blake and Britney. Blake had just started her 1st year of secondary school while Britney was about to complete her primary school education.
One day, Shirley told Danny that she would be returning home late. As she had told him beforehand that she would be working overtime, he did not think much. Little did they know that their peaceful life would be disrupted by a terrible news.
Shirley did not return home that night. Danny made repeated calls to her mobile, but there was no answer. Suddenly, he received a call from the police. There was a dead body of a female, who seemed to fit Shirley's description. However, the body had been decomposed beyond recognition. Nevertheless, Danny recognized her by the bangle she wore. He refused to believe his wife was dead. He dedicated himself into raising Blake and Britney.
10 years had passed since Shirley's supposed demise. By then, life had returned to normal. Blake and Britney had graduated from university and had started working.
One day, Britney came back. "Guess who I saw? I saw Mom," Britney said excitedly.
"Are you sure it was her? She's already been dead for so long," Blake asked.
"It's true, I saw it with my own eyes," she said firmly. Blake had never seen her sister so firm. She decided to give Britney the benefit of the doubt.
Suddenly, they heard someone call out to them. When they turned around, they saw Shirley standing at the doorstep.
"Mom, is that really you?" Britney asked. Shirley nodded. She then recounted what had happened. She said that she had been robbed on her way home, and the robbers had thrown her into the sea, but she was fortunately saved by some villagers. However, she had lost her memories, and had recently regained them. While Britney was happy to be reunited with Shirley, Blake and Danny had a feeling that something was not right. Their suspicions were aroused when they noticed large sums of cash disappearing. Danny decided to install cameras around the house. When they watched the footage, they were shocked that Shirley had taken their money. What was more shocking was that she did not suffer from amnesia. She
Danny confronted Shirley with the video footage, and she vehemently admitted to have gotten close to them for money. It turned out that Shirley had long wanted to leave Danny and their daughters. On that fateful day, she had an argument with a business partner, who had decided to end their partnership. The argument escalated into a fight, and in the process, Shirley accidentally killed her. In order to cover it up, she took off her bangle and put it on the deceased. She then disfigured her business partner and threw her into the sea. Just then, police officers arrived and placed Shirley under arrest. Danny had recorded the entire conversation.
As Shirley was led away, she cursed at Danny for setting her up, saying she wished she had never come back. Danny, Blake and Britney heaved a sigh of relief, glad that everything was over.
