“I put in extra fries”, he said and winked! “In your doggy bag,” he nodded. I caught his drift, winked back, and managed a smile-the first genuine one of the night. But the laughter from the other end of the table – sharp suits swapping travelling adventure stories, of which I had none to share-pulled me back to the moment!
We are not beautiful, I do not matter, I thought. The abyss will stare back at you and maybe I was staring a little too long, the reverse is also true, I would argue.
The universe surprised me in an unexpected way, just when I thought no one saw me, among these esteemed lawyers and chairpersons of various boards, the waiter did. He noticed me and added extra fries as a warm gesture.
So, friends, never think that no one notices you- you might just be surprised!
