Jane is thirty-seven years old, She lives in a flat with her partner Matt. Matt is twenty-eight years old. Jane never had the greatest of up bringing's, she was brought up in a household that was constantly full of arguing between her parents. Jane had two sister's Mary forty-seven years old and Ann thirty years old, she also had a brother called William and he is forty-six. Jane always felt like she was the black sheep of the family, she would always get blamed for something she didn't do and the rest of her sibling's could literally get away with murder, they were always the goody to shoes.
The arguments between her parents would make her and her younger sister hide under the bed crying, and this would even take place on special days like birthdays and Christmas. Being brought up in a household with constant mental abuse, which for a child can be very damaging, this is also had a impact on her when she went to high school, she was struggling so much as a eleven year old that she couldn't even finish school, she didn't do her exams and left school with no qualifications.
When Jane turned sixteen years old she got the courage to go to college. Jane loved animals, and always wanted a job around them. She got into college studying Animal Husbandry, she had to travel all the way to Evesham college to study the course she wanted. While at college two days a week she had to do some work experience in her local pet shop and she loved it. A few months went pass and one morning going to the pet shop she noticed on the board in the back asking if she wanted a weekend job and she snatched it up straight away. In the end they offered Jane a full time position and she jumped at it so she left college and went straight into a full time job.
Meanwhile Jane made some really great friends they would plan to go out every payday, drinking clubbing Jane enjoyed it. But from the age of nineteen she saw her friends in relationships and she knew she was ready to meet someone. So one Saturday night she was out with Amy who became her best friend, and she was telling Amy how she wanted to meet someone and Amy suggesting a dating app to her. Jane was vairy but gave it ago, she had nothing to lose, she tried meeting someone when she was out but no one was interested in her.
When Jane was twenty years old she met a guy called Matthew he was twenty-six years old, he drove a red Honda and worked four days on and four days off as he worked in a printing factory. Weeks went by with them talking and when they both had the Saturday off work they decided to meet up. When Jane's mom found out she was meeting someone she was so nasty to her she shouted at her and said ''If anything happens to you I don't want to know'' Jane couldn't believe what she heard from her own mom's mouth. Matthew drove to Jane and picked her up. They didn't have anything planned just see where the drive takes them. When they ended up at a place called The Forest Of Dean they had a lovely walk around, it was peaceful which gave them more time to talk. As they was walking around it started to rain and so they headed back to the car where they did more talking, then kissing and next thing they were having intercourse.
Matthew took her home and dropped her off at the door, that night Jane was starting to have doubts in her head. Was this a one off? Was this what he wanted? And this what happens when you get brought up in a household like hers, but her fears didn't last that long Matthew texted her that night telling her how much he really liked her and over the phone they planned their next date, the following Saturday they went to western-super-mere, spent the day at the beach they loved it, they was falling in love.
They met in June 2008 and in August when he went round to spend the night at Jane's house, he was acting nervous, they were sat on her bed when he turned around and said ''Jane I have written you a letter do you mind if i read it out to you'' he asked.
''Of course not'' she replied
He read ''Jane I know we haven't been seeing each other long and I know I'm not no knight in shining armour but I can't see my life without you, I love you so much will you marry me''
''Yes'' she replied
They were both over the moon. September came along and Jane started to notice that she missed a period, so she confided in her best friend Amy, they took a pregnancy test and that's when Jane found out she was pregnant. Jane told her family and they wasn't happy but also wasn't mad at the same time, her older sister turned round and told her ''If you get rid of this baby i will never speak to you again''
Jane wasn't seeing Matthew until his day off on Friday and she sat down with him and told him. They was both in shock, she was thinking is he going to leave me? Matthew told her that they both wasn't in a financial situation to keep, bring up a baby, but after a few days Jane told him she couldn't go through with the abortion and understood if he wanted to walk away, but he didn't. Between telling Matthew and When December came around Matthew was blanking her, not replying to messages, so the second week in December she knew she was the one to end the relationship, she rang him, told him and he was ok with it, one thing she made very clear that she would never stop him from seeing their child, and she never asked for a penny off him, she did it all by herself.
On March 28th 2009 Jane gave birth to a healthy baby boy, she took photos and sent letters to Matthew, but instead of him replying it was his mom and in the letter it said ''We and Matthew want nothing to do with you or your baby, please don't contact us again''
Jane was heart broken, but she did as they wished. A year went by and she met someone called Dan. Dan was older then her and they seemed to get on very well, he came up to visit and a couple of months went by and they started living together. Then things changed, it would start with Dan shouting at her, telling her she was fat and ugly and he could do better, he was constantly control her, she wasn't aloud to leave the flat, he told her what to wear and when that wasn't good enough he would start pushing her, then pushes became slaps and slaps would become punches. Then one night her son was crying, he was twelve months old, Jane got up went to her son to calm him down, at this time he was suffering with night terrors, when Dan stormed in with a knife and said ''if you don't shut him up i will'' while waving the knife in front of her. Dan was a control and abusive partner towards and then he started using her laptop and signing up to dating sites and started cheating on her. Jane was so low with confidence, withdrawn and constantly felt like she was walking on egg shells. So many times she tried leaving but he would threaten to hurt her son. She was in this relationship for two years then one day when she had her son in her arms she accidently bumped in to Dan and he gave her a big push while she was holding her son. Jane got to the point where she thought he can beat me but never touch her while she had her son in her arms and if he could do that what more could he do that he hasn't already.
She finally rang for help, her dad and brother-in-law came and they took her to safety and rang the police, he got arrested and he was made to pay one hundred pound for compensation. At that time she was scared to be alone encase he would come back so someone she knew decided to stay a couple of nights with her and her son. Chris was a couple years younger then Jane and she had known him for a long time and they were just friends, but on the second night things changed, Chris got up off the sofa went into Jane's bedroom and raped her, she told him no and to stop but he wouldn't. When he finished she screamed at him to get out, she felt numb, dirty, it was her fault, why me? she was thinking to herself. She ran a bath and never told anyone about what happened. A week later she found out she was pregnant and even then she kept it to herself and in July 2012 she gave birth to a baby girl, she was now a single mom to a three year old boy and a new born.
Time went by when she met someone called Andrew, now at this time jane was now twenty-four and she met Andrew who was forty. Again no red flags, a year later they moved in together, that's when his true colours came out, he was a heavy drinker and gambled, he was also very controlling and telling her what to wear. And once again she fell pregnant and in January 2015 she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. At this time someone rang social services and said that she needed to leave him and they helped her and the kids get away, but this wasn't a good thing, nothing Jane did was good enough for the social services. When ever she would get a visit they would tell her one thing and when it came to meetings they would say the opposite and make Jane out to be a unfit mother, they would tell her they were going to take her to court to remove the kids, even though she hadn't done nothing, they would constantly check the bedrooms, kitchen, fridge, cupboard and even the toilet to see if it was clean.
Everyday Jane would be on edge if today was the day they were coming for her kids, she was depressed, withdrawn, not eating or sleeping. Then she told her self after days and weeks of thinking that no one ever knew she was good enough.
Then a year later she met a guy through friends called Alan. By this time the children were staying with family members. Alan seemed like a nice guy at first then he started to show his controlling side, if she missed a call from him he would shout at her and give her the silent treatment. They spent a few years together then covid hit the world and he passed away, a few moths before he passed away he had signed everything over to her without her knowing.
When she found out he had left her a large amount of money which was just over Pound 250,000 she started crying. Why me? And with that money she had plans she paid off all her debts, she treated herself to a Xbox, she treated her children, but then there was the worse side of the money family was all of a sudden kind to her, spoke to her like a human being and then there would be phone calls and texts asking to lend money and she did they promised to pay her back but never did.
One day while Jane was scrolling Facebook she joined a Xbox group, to make friends and to find people to game with. Then she saw a post from a guy call Sam who was looking for people to play Fortnite with she replied and they started talking and gaming. Now Jane always wore her heart on her sleeve, you can say she was a easy target to take for granted, to be used. Her and Sam fell in love but one day over facetime Jane made a mistake and told him how much money she had and he was and from that day everything started falling apart. In this relationship there was nothing but cheating and lying but she forgive and stayed with him, he wall getting higher she was losing who she was constantly feeling down, mental exhaustion it was getting to much for her all she ever wanted was to be loved for who she was instead of constantly not feeling good enough and overthinking everything, even doubts about herself she has been mentally drained, crying she couldn't find the strength any money to carry on. So one day as Sam went to work she took her own life, she got to a point where that was the only way out for her, all she ever wanted was to be loved and not be pushed aside for online women, because Sam would look them up while she was in the same room, but now she freed herself and freed him.
