There was once a woman who had worked quietly for many years, giving her best, serving others and believing that, in time, her efforts would speak for themselves.
But as she began to rise, something changed.
People who once smiled with her began to question her. Some tried to undermine her. Others looked for reasons to push her aside. There were moments when she wondered whether the system itself had become her greatest obstacle.
One evening, tired from the struggles, she sat alone and asked herself:
“Why does it seem as though everybody wants to take me out?”
For a moment, she felt discouraged. Then she remembered something she had learned through life:
God is the lifter of men.
She looked back at her journey and realized that every time she thought she was finished, God had opened another door. Every time someone tried to bury her, God had given her another place to stand. Every time the light seemed to disappear, God brought another ray of hope.
Then she understood something profound.
The system can be rough. People can oppose you. They can criticize you, undermine you and try to bring you down. But when God is the One who lights your path, no human being has the power to put out your light.
She stopped worrying about who was against her.
She stopped trying to prove herself to everyone.
She simply kept walking.
Because she had learned that when God lights you, no one can put you down.
And sometimes, the very people who tried to extinguish your light become witnesses to how brightly God made you shine.
