War and Love
The narrative of Anitun Tabu
Evil looks to be on the verge of annihilating humanity. However, a single deity saves them all. She was known as Anitun Tabu and became a legend.
There was a kingdom called "Aeschylus" at the western extremity of the world. It was controlled by Anitun tabu, the goddess of wind and rain, and it was the only country where deity and humans coexisted. There was a forbidden love going on in the postern area of the realm. Anitun Tabu has fallen in love with Ikapati, a mortal. The couple's room was filled with love and sweet words.
Ikapati cradled Tabu in his arms and said, "I know our love isn't right, but I'd murder a god if it meant I could hold you in my arms forever."
The alluring Tabu blushed and said, "My darling, I will walk through the flames if it meant I can hold you on the other side”
Their feelings for each other were overflowing like a river, their love was raging like a forest fire. Their love story seems like a fairy tale, but little did they know that it was only the beginning of an exciting yet most traumatic end. Their forbidden love widespread throughout the nation and the news soon reach the gods.
Bathala, the deity of the gods, imposes a decree that no god or goddess should fall in love with a mortal, but Tabu defies Bathala's order, causing Bathala's fury. Bathala quickly summoned all the gods and proposed that the earth be destroyed since it defies the gods' dominion and coexists with them. Bathala is concerned that the other deity will follow Anitun tabu's lead.
Tabu's buddy Mayari speaks on her behalf. "Love is absolute and must not be tampered with."
But no one listens to her and continued the discussion.
The gods debated what punishment Tabu should get, and it was subsequently determined by all of the gods that they would open the gateway to the underworld to terminate mankind.
Mayari has no choice but to warn Tabu and Ikapati to leave, but the pair is certain that they will stay and safeguard the kingdom and its people.
Ikapati held Tabu and said, "Darling, don't be scared, I'll be at your side as we confront this together and preserve our kingdom and humanity."
Tabu assembled all of her men to prepare for the impending battle. She dubbed her most capable soldier "Kapre" and told him to locate more promising soldiers to fight for the kingdom and humanity.
Tabu, on the other hand, was concerned since she knew it would cost many lives and tear apart the people's hopes and ambitions. She chastised herself for her selfishness for causing this, but the people cheered her up and reminded her that they are eager to fight for the kingdom and to safeguard their races.
Kapre yelled and informed Tabu of this. "Enormous success is almost always the product of great sacrifice, and it is never the consequence of selfishness; love has never been classified as selfishness."
Tabu was able to get back on track thereafter and boldly said that. "Do not be terrified, my beloved people and the man of my dreams; I will protect you to the best of my ability."
People's hope is restored by a few words from the god of wind and rain, and they are no longer terrified of god or evil for they have a loving god (Tabu)
100 days before the war...
Ikapati and Tabu embarked on a voyage to the mountain of Astilluc to train and develop their skill, while the people of Aeschylus began their intense training.
The pair put in a lot of effort and gained a power that god doesn't have: it's called the power of love.
Many days have gone, and the fight is approaching, but they are not worried since they are ready and prepared for a tremendous victory.
The day of the war...
The underworld army was directed by Sitan (god of the underworld), who then ordered the front line battalion, led by Mansisilat (Sitan's right hand), to assault the kingdom of Aeschylus' front defense battalion.
Mansisilat successfully terminated the frontline but was killed by Ikapati
Ikapati then shouted to his men "Do not be scared or quiver, for united we are stronger."
The soldiers of Aeschylus successfully defended the first wave of the attacked
But it was too early to rejoice; later that night, Sitan intended to invade the kingdom with Haliya and the Bakunawa.
Tabu is enraged because Haliya and The Bakunawa infiltrated the kingdom and slaughtered too many people.
Tabu battled Haliya and Bakunawa on her alone and killed them with her immense might, allowing her to advance to Sitan's fortress.
That night the moon was red as the blood that was overflowing in the land. Many people died fighting for their lives and rights. Death, not triumph, is the result of war.
Ikapati followed Tabu and battled with him while the fight raged on. The sound of the trumpet filled the air, and they looked like birds dancing in the skies as they battled.
Hours passed, and Sitan's army shrank less than half its number.
The ground trembled as Ikapati and Tabu assaulted Sitan, and the ocean continued to send powerful waves as if it were the end of the world.
Ikapati and Tabu successfully beheaded Sitan, preventing humanity's extinction.
The couple and the crowd began to rejoice, but it was only the start of a devastating victory.
As Ikapati was celebrating his victory in the war, a follower of the cruel Sitan Mangangaway morphed into Kapre and pierced Ikapati's heart, flowing blood into his body. Tabu raced screaming into Ikapati's side, helplessly sealing the wound.
Ikapati, who was dying, spoke in hushed tones. "Don't cry because this is my fate; because of you, I've had a fulfilling life, and being by your side feels like paradise"
Tabu, who was crying, responded. “My love don’t leave me and be by my side forever."
Ikapati responded quickly. "I can love you the most out of everyone who can till my final day, until the end of my life." "I'll love you until my dying breath. All the way to the top, until they lay me down the cold, hard dirt six feet underneath, I’ll wait for you on the other side"
But no one, not even the gods, can stop fate.
Ikapati died in the conflict, but he left a legacy for future generations.
Moral lesson: love does not conquer everything, and selfishness leads to downfall.
War is an unending problem with no solutions.
As a result of its repercussions, war only results in death.
