I have grown up with Shakespeare and WB Yeats. I was curious about others. There is a beauty in Shakespeare's works Poetry and Prose. His plays tend to captivate the imagination between tradgeties and comedies. What is not to like in Shakespeare and Yeats? Both have created great great works of art.
Yeats has composed historical poetry and Shakespeare has created plays and poetry in the firm of sonnets. 'Shall I Compare Thee to a summer's day' is a beautiful sonnet by Shakespeare, which shows the love for another human being. 'The Primrose' is a lovely poem by John Donne. It describes the beauty of nature that we detach ourselves from all too often. 'September 1913' by WB Yeats describes the weakness humans have towards greed. This greed isn't just financial, it can be land related too.
In the Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot, We follow Mia as she goes through life with all its challenges. She feels invisible as she is dealing with bullying while also dealing with the fact she is someone far more different than she realises.
These works show how talents can affect society, historically and environmentally. They are still relevant in today's world. There is still greed in the world, that doesn't have to be financial, it can be geographical too.
We ignore the beauty around us to the detriment of our wellbeing. We don't realise that we are in nature not without it. We also have great power and with that comes great responsibility towards everyone and everything around us.
