Motherhood is often described in terms of joy, warmth, and fulfillment - but for many women, it is also a journey marked by pain, uncertainty, and tremendous courage. My story is one of endurance through fearsome trials, deep gratitude for life, and an ever-growing appreciation for the power of love and family support.

My first childbirth experience nearly cost me my life. I had a retained placenta, and the doctor told me bluntly that my survival was a 50/50 chance. I was given two pints of blood, and by God's grace, I made it through. That moment left a deep mark on me - not just physically, but emotionally. It taught me that bringing life into the world is not always beautiful and gentle; sometimes, it is raw, frightening, and requires every ounce of strength.

Because of that traumatic experience, I was advised to consult a specialist before attempting another pregnancy. I followed that advice and went to a teaching hospital. But when it was time to deliver my second child, I once again came close to losing my life. The baby was born looking wrinkled and frail - because all the amniotic fluid had dried up. We survived, but not without a warning from the nurse: "Don't have another child." That statement stayed with me for years, haunting my hopes for a larger family.

Seven years later, I became pregnant again. The fear returned with full force. This time, I chose to give birth outside the country, hoping for better medical care and peace of mind. My baby came prematurely. Yet again, we pulled through - and just as I was settling into motherhood once more, I discovered I was pregnant again. Another girl. Another blessing. But this time, something changed. This last pregnancy was my most peaceful. It gave me the chance to truly experience the beauty of motherhood. It taught me to appreciate every cry, every kick, every breath.

Through all of this, one thing became undeniably clear: the support of family makes all the difference. I could not have come this far without my children, my husband, and the love of my extended family. Their prayers, presence, and practical help carried me through the darkest nights and the most uncertain days. They reminded me that I was not alone - that even when I was afraid, I was surrounded by strength.

Motherhood has taught me humility, resilience, and the incredible power of support systems. It has deepened my gratitude - not only for the miracle of life but for the people who stood by me through every stage of it.

Today, I carry my story not with shame or sorrow, but with pride. I am a mother - scarred, seasoned, and supported. And that, to me, is a powerful kind of beauty.
