Life has a way of teaching lessons when we least expect them.
Years ago, someone I know worked with a woman whom he said was lazy. Naturally, this became a source of frustration and discussion among some of her coworkers. Eventually, she was transferred to another location, and everyone moved on. The situation seemed like a closed chapter.
Then life took an unexpected turn.
A few years later, that woman's husband became his wife's boss.
It was one of those moments that makes you pause and reflect. Not because anyone could have predicted it, but because it serves as a reminder that life is full of unexpected twists. The people we encounter today, and the people connected to them, may cross our paths again in ways we never imagine.
This story is not about assigning blame or determining who was right or wrong. Rather, it is a reminder that even when we are frustrated with others, we should be mindful of how we speak about them and how we treat them.
Titles change. Positions change. Circumstances change. The people we meet today may be connected to opportunities, relationships, and situations we never anticipated.
That's why it is wise to remain respectful, professional, and intentional in our interactions. We can express concerns without being disrespectful and disagree with others without diminishing their worth.
Life has a way of reminding us that the tables can turn when we least expect it. What seems like a small, forgettable workplace situation today may become a valuable lesson in humility tomorrow.
Be intentional. Be respectful. You never know how life's paths may cross again
