The wind howled outside, rattling the windowpanes of the old, decrepit manor. Inside, a lone figure, a young woman named Anya, sat by a flickering candle, her heart pounding with a mix of fear and anticipation. A strange, scratching sound echoed from the attic, a sound that sent shivers down her spine.

With a deep breath, Anya rose from her chair and cautiously made her way up the creaking stairs. The air grew colder as she ascended, the dim candlelight casting eerie shadows on the walls. Reaching the attic door, she hesitated, her hand hovering over the cold, brass handle.

With a trembling grip, she pushed the door open. A cloud of dust particles swirled into the air, obscuring her vision. As the dust settled, her eyes adjusted to the dim light. A pair of glowing red eyes peered out from the darkness, followed by a low, guttural growl. A monstrous creature, its form shrouded in shadows, lunged towards her.

Anya screamed, her voice lost in the chaos. She fought back, her instincts taking over. But the creature was too strong, too fast. Its claws raked across her skin, leaving deep, bleeding wounds. As consciousness faded, she heard a distant voice, a whisper of hope. Then, darkness enveloped her.
