It is 2 o'clock at night. Three friends are in a black car listening to loud music and heavily intoxicated. A girl named Eliana on a bicycle passes by them. One of the friends, named Simmon, says, "Let's hit her slightly." Patris, the one driving the car, says no. The third friend, Williams adds, "come on, let's do it. It will be fun, and we will say sorry ." Patris agrees, and he drives the car toward the girl and hits her. After the impact, instead of pressing the brake — due to his intoxicated state — he accidently presses the accelerator and runs over Eliana and her bicycle. After stopping the car, all three get out and see that the she is already dead. They quickly get back into the car and drive away. In the morning, people discover the incident and call the police. The police arrive at the scene immediately. A police officer name Shawn observes the situation and tells his junior officer to seal the area. Elian's body is then sent for an autopsy. The autopsy report states that the she was run over by a car. The next day, Shawn, along with his junior officer named Clark, returns to the scene of the incident to check for any CCTV cameras. There is no camera on he road where the incident occurred, but there is one on the next street, which partially shows the scene.
Shawn asks the shopkeeper for the CCTV footage. In the footage, he sees a black car entering the street where the incident occurred at 2 a.m. They note down the car's number plate.
Shawn and his team then go to the vehicle registration office to find out who the car is registered to. The car is registered in the name of Patris. They rush to the Patris home and bring him to the police station for questioning.
Shawn asks Patris , "Where were you two days ago at 2 a.m? "
Patris replies, " I was with my friends."
Shawn asks again, "Who were you with, and how many were there?"
Patris says, "I was with my two friends — Williams and Simmon."
Shawn tells Clark to bring in the other two immediately.
Patris asks, "What is happening? Why have you brought me here?"
Shawns says sarcastically, "so you don't know why you are here?" and leaves the room.
After some time, Clark brings in Williams and Simmon and puts all three of them in the same room. They all look at each other in surprise and appear scared.
Shawn and his team are in the next room, watching and listening to them. But none of the three talks about the incident; inStead, they ask each other why they have been brought here.
Shawn enters the room angrily and asks, "why did you kill the girl that night?"
Patris replies, "you have got the wrong person officer. We didn't murder anyone."
Shawn gets even more angry and asks, "Then what were you all doing there that night?"
Williams says, " Sir, there are other streets nearby. May be someone else killed the girl."
Shawn slaps Williams and leaves the room.
The next day, Shawn and his team try to find more CCTV footage, but unfortunately, there is none.
A few days later, the three men are brought before the judge. The judge acquits them all and reprimands Shawn: "You have no proof against them to have murdered. I'm showing leniency this time, but be careful in the future . Otherwise, strict action will be taken against you."
Shawn feels disappointed and goes home. His wife asks, "What happened with the case you were investigating?"
Shawn says, "They were acquitted.
Then, Shawn goes to Eliana's house, feeling ashamed.
He apologizes to her parents and says, "I tried my best, but I failed." Eliana has one brother, who is probably around 12 years old. Shawn asks them, "What was Eliana doing out in the street so late?"
Her mother starts crying and says, "That night, we were returning from the hospital," and she points to her son. He had a high fever. We forgot the medicines, so Eliana went back to the hospital on her bicycle to get them. It happened on her way back home.:
Tears fall from Shawn's eyes. He quietly leaves.
It is late at night, but Shawn still goes to Eliana's grave and asks for forgiveness. He says, " I tried hard. Even then, your murderers were acquitted. I'm sorry." He begins to cry.
Suddenly, Eliana's soul rises from the grave. Seeing this, Shawn becomes pertified and steps back. Eliana's soul gently removes a button from Shawn's shirt with a gesture and let's it fall to the ground. Then, she disappears
Shawn picks up the button, puts it in his pocket, and leaves. On the way home, he keeps staring at the button in shock and confusion.
That night, he can't sleep. The incident keeps replaying in his mind.
The next day at the office, he remains lost in thought, restless by what happened the night before. Shawn doesn't tell anyone about the incident.
He wonders if the event has something to do with Eliana's clothes. Driven by this thought, he goes to Eliana's house and asks her parents for the clothes she was wearing on the night of incident.
Her parents are surprised and say, "The case is closed now. Why are you asking for her clothes?"
Shawn then tells them everything that happened the night before. At first, her parents don't believe him. But when they see how restless and serious Shawn is they finally bring Eliana's clothes place them infront of him. Shawn hastily sifts through the clothes. As he picks them up a button falls on the floor. Curios, he examines the buttons on Eliana's clothes — they are all intact. The button that fell must be an extra one.
Suddenly, it hits him: this button might belong to one of the three friends.
Shawn reopens the case. He visits the homes of the three friends and searches through their belongings. At Patris's house, he finds a jacket among his clothes that is missing a button. Shawn matches the fallen button with the rest — it fits perfectly. It's from Patris's jacket.
Shawn arrests all three of them. Yet even as he holds the button in his hand, he realizes that presenting it in court won't be enough. It's circumstantial.
He waits for dawn. He goes to Eliana's grave and says, " I can't prove anything with this button alone."
Eliana's soul rises once again. This time, with a gesture, she takes Shawn's phone from his pocket and, after a few seconds suspended in the air, gently lets it fall to the ground.
Shawn picks it up, says, "Thank you," and leaves.
The next morning, he goes to Eliana's house and asks her mother for Eliana's mobile phone. Her mother brings it to him, but Shawn finds nothing helpful in it.
Thinking deeply, he suddenly realizes: What if the clue is in the phones of three suspects?
He rushes to the police station and ask for their confiscated phones. All of them are locked. Shawn goes to the lock up and demands for their passwords.
One by one, he unlocks the phones — first Patris's then Williams. Nothing useful. But when he opens Simmon's phone, he finds something that makes him laugh uncontrollably. A few days later, in court, Shawn presents a video. It contains the recording of the entire incident that night with both visuals and sound. When the video ends, Shawn turns to the judge and says: "Simmon is a vlogger. He was recording a vlog when it all happened."
The evidence is undeniable. All three of them are found guilty and punished. Justice prevails.
