“BOO!!” I flinched. I could hear my heart racing.
As soon as I saw my best friend's laughing face, my body relaxed.
“Jade! Why did you scare me?” I asked, my tone a little high. Her smile disappeared.
“Sorry, Abby, I didn't mean to scare you.”
She didn't know anything about what had happened.
I never get scared easily even after watching the scariest films. Then how did a small sound make me shake in my boots?
I sighed.
“Abby, what's wrong?” she asked softly, carefully studying my face.
I took a deep breath before I began telling her about the weird dream I had last night.
She didn't say a word.
She was looking lost.
“Jade! What are you thinking?” I tapped her on the shoulder.
“Abby…” she paused, running a hand through her hair.
“Jade, say it,” I said.
“You mentioned the wall clock, but…” she stopped and bit her lip.
“But?” I raised an eyebrow.
“If we see a clock or a dead person in our dreams, then it might not be a dream.”
