“Abigail! Abigail!” I felt like somebody was calling me but I couldn't move my body. Everything was dark around me. But no, I had to try harder.
“Abby!” Finally I woke up. My vision was blurred and my cheeks were moist. Then I noticed my mom sitting beside me, her arms tightly wrapped around my shoulders and eyes fixed on me with worry.
My head spun.
I was in my room, on my bed…
Was everything I saw last night a dream? Who was that girl?
After a few minutes,
“Abby, do you really have to go?” Mom asked while putting jam on my toast. Her tone was a little tenser than usual.
“Mom… it was just a dream,” I took a small bite of the toast.
“And what was it?” She put down the toast on my plate.
The dream flashed before my eyes and I felt a knot in my stomach. Even thinking about it made me nauseous.
“I don't wanna eat more,” I said, getting up from my chair.
“You have barely eaten anything, what's wrong Abby?” Mom chased me. But before she could reach me, I quickened my pace.
“I'm getting late, Mom,” I shouted before closing the door.
