Alice, a teenager, is suffering from prosopagnosia, has received a logitech camera on his birthday .He has a predilection to click photos . On 19 September, his family returned to their newly refurbished bungalow . Their bungalow is situated in backwoods far away from the town. Alice was a very introvert boy who neither have companions nor did he ever envisage that he would be acquainted to an apparition that will raise his hair at the back of his head for many years forthcoming.
He just roamed to his verandah clicking photos of the beautiful scenery, animals quenching their thirst and bird chirruping .In his excitement, he went very deep into the forest as their verandah was near the proximity of the forest. He figure out an embodied figure sitting on a bench when he returned after taking photos. He felt it very eerie and bizarre as he was not expecting that anyone should be present there and that to a place which seems so untouched by the outer world. He approached towards her , her head bended downwards , hair scattered untidily , he enquired "what is your name?" and with a pause, he added "what on earth are you doing here? Aren't you afraid to come so deep into the forest?.
The girl raised her head , answered by saying, "I shouldn't be afraid of dangers of forest. I am only interested of the fact that accidently we have interchange our cameras.."
He checked the camera which he clasped on his hand, checked the past photos and assure about the truthfulness in her words .That really was her camera and he thought that may be they have exchange during the function at their home .They exchange their cameras, but Alice saw the face of the girl to be very blurred which was not astounding to him. He was also very elated of the fact that finally he had got a companion in this secluded part of world. They soon get acquainted with each other and moved towards his house. They have light conversations with each other, Alice also cognizant that Maria ,the name of the girl, is suffering from from face blindness , amidst in their conversations ,Alice took a notice of the photos and felt an uneasiness as he was unable to recognize even the animal faces. He also saw the blurred images which was very uncanny but he did not care much proclaiming it to be lens issue. Then suddenly he heard a very loud noise from its back and saw no one, not even Maria. He rolled his eyes from one direction to another ,notwithstanding he could not find Maria but able to see his bungalow so he went straight into his house. There he got the information that his parents has to go to a nearby town to see one of their relatives. Now he was all alone in this secluded bungalow and had to take care not only of the bungalow but also himself...
He went straight to the powder room to take a shower but later heard the sound of striding as if someone is moving across the stairs or rather crawling.....
He wore his attire and went to the staircase to check and when he return to powder room he heard the sound of water falling from tap ,he hastened to the shower room but found the door to be locked. He exert pressure to the door and door opened but found a silhouette with a sledge hammer and comes near to him to assault but somehow he protect himself from the shadowy figure's strike. He ran towards the staircase and moved down the floor and when he has just touched the floor ,he experienced a cold handholding his ankle. He presumed it to be the same shadowy figure and moved his head and perceive that a mutilated hand ,under the floor is clasping his leg. At the instance he also watched the shadowy figure to come at the proximity of the stair case and jumps on him with his sledge hammer. He tried hard and just misses for a few inches .He fell on the ground ,crawling toward the exit door and found his camera in between them when he looked at the camera he could perceive the reflection that an apparition jumps from the roof onto him. He took his camera and terror stood him .Now he can watch not one or two but a myriad of hands shivering beneath the floor and an apparition, the same apparition whose figure he had already seen in the camera floats over the hands. He can just see the blurred face of the apparition and he could not move his legs, as if his legs paralyzed. The apparition approached him and as the apparition moved nearer to her, the blurriness of her face reduces and at one point he could clearly see its face. A pair of black eyes without cornea, a very mutilated face and now the apparition came very nearer to him just few inches and scream ,then the shadowy figure bangs the sledge hammer over him.
Alice wakes up from the bed and blessed himself that it was only a nightmare. That day was a red letter day in his life as he would be undergoing a surgery and after that he would not feel any problem in recognizing anyone's face. The operation get accomplished and he could easily recognized his parent's face. Last time when he had watch his parent's face at the time before the accident took place when their car crashed onto a tree and the fine pieces of glass damages his optic nerve. He swiftly went to his bungalow and then his father informed him that the doctor and his daughter was coming to see him. At that time his parents had to moved to a nearby town to take care of one of their neighbors so they will not be at home at that moment.
Once again he was all alone in the secluded bungalow and when he heard the car blowing the horn ,he went to the exit door and open it. He could see the same shadowy figure holding the sledge hammer and the same apparition who was no other than Maria smiling in the most devilish way approaching towards him and once again he could see a myriad of hands shivering under the floor .
