On a cold evening around 8 o'clock, a boy dressed in a black suit sat in a restaurant, his eyes fixed on the door, clearly waiting for someone. A waitress approached and asked, "Hello sir! What would you like to order? Here's our menu." He was so deep in thought that he didn't hear her, prompting her to repeat the question. Startled, he replied, "Oh! Sorry, I didn't hear you. I'm waiting for someone. She'll order for both of us when she arrives."
The waitress hesitantly asked, "Is she your girlfriend?"
He responded, "Actually, no. But I'm in love with her, and I'm going to tell her my feelings today. I've been building up the courage for a long time. Look at how nervous I am!"
The waitress suggested, "If you want, you can practice with me."
Grateful, he said, "Oh, thank you so much! That would be a great help. Let me prepare first."
"Okay, take your time," she said.
After a few moments, he said, "Yeah, I'm ready now. I want to say that... I want to say that... No, no, I can't do this. I can't tell her."
The waitress calmed him down and advised, "Don't memorize what you're going to say. Just speak from your heart. Tell her your true feelings, not someone else's quotations. It'll be more effective."
He took a deep breath and said, "Okay, let me try that." She encouraged him, "Yes! That's what you should do."
He began, "Oh my gosh! You're looking so stunning today. You are always pretty, but something's different today. Your presence is mesmerizing this evening. I know you have hundreds of questions and want to know why I called you here today. Just listen to me silently, or I'll forget everything."
The waitress responded as if she were the girl, "Carry on. If you know my questions, tell me what's the matter."
He continued, "When I'm surrounded by thousands of people, I'm only looking for you. When I'm alone, I think of your smiling face. You're the person I miss in crowds and in solitude. I'm introverted around others but talkative when it's about you. I have a million things to share but become speechless in front of you. Your eyes are like oceans, and I feel like I'm drowning in them. My fingers want to play with your hair, my steps move towards you, wanting to accompany you through life. Guys ask me if you're single, and I tell them you're engaged, which hurts because I can't imagine you with anyone else. I've changed myself for you—my style, my preferences. I'm wearing this black suit because it's your favorite color. My life is full of secrets, but I want you to be my secret keeper. I don't know if love is nonsense, but if it is, it's the best feeling I've ever had. I smile because of you. I'm happy when you smile because of me. I want you in my life, no matter the relationship. If this is love, then I'm madly in love with you. I'm not forcing you; your decision will be final. But answer me this: If, at the time of marriage, I propose to you and you're still unmarried, will you accept me as your life partner?"
The waitress, playing her role, got emotional and said, "Are you an idiot? I'm not in a relationship. Your words and feelings moved me. How could I reject you when your love is so pure? I would choose you over anyone else. You are my first priority, and I'll wait for you until destiny unites us."
He handed her a handkerchief, and she wiped her tears. He then gave her some money, saying, "Exactly like this, I want her to react when I confess. Thank you so much for helping me. Now I'm prepared and hope I'll be successful today." He hugged her warmly and thanked her again.
A few minutes later, the girl he was waiting for arrived. Confident, he spoke to her just as he had rehearsed, and to his amazement, her responses were identical to those of the waitress. They left the restaurant hand in hand.
The waiter approached the waitress and said, "Why didn't you serve them? You helped him so much. He was really happy and even gave me an extra tip to share with you."
She was still crying and asked, "Was she prettier than me? Did he smile at her like he smiled at me? Did he love her the way he told me?"
The waiter, puzzled, asked, "Why are you so worried about him? You helped him, and he got the girl he loves. What's the matter?"
She replied, "You don't understand. He's the one I've been waiting for years. My classmate. I always hoped he would notice me, but he never did. Today, I thought my prayers had come true, but when he gave me this money, my heart broke."
She threw the money into the fire and said,
"I wanted him to get on one knee
and say, 'I love thee.'
But for the one my love loves,
I am setting him free."
