To my biological mother, a figure who exists in my life, remains a distant shadow.

I tried to save you, but I was too small. When I wanted to awaken you, my voice was barely a whisper. My memories of you are like faint echoes, scarcely discernible, but how could I ever forget your presence? I may not be able to conjure your image, but your scent lingers in my memory - a warm fragrance, a fragrance of Mom.

You gave me life, and I will be forever grateful. When you were in a safe place, you left that comfort to check on your children. As a child, I never understood why you did that. Now, I get it as a man, a dad, and a spouse. My bravery comes from you, and your spirit lives on in me.

I'm not entirely sure, but I thought I saw you. I felt your presence when I needed you most - during those dark days when all I wanted was a good night's rest. Your fragrance, Mom, would surround me and lull me to sleep. Since then, my soul has found peace. You reassured me that you were finally safe, and it was okay to let go and love my new mom. I love you, Mom.

To my foster mom, I made a promise to you that I would be a good child, a good son. You never required such a promise, but I had to make it myself. Those Saturdays, hitting up garage and yard sales. I found that old Singer typewriter and I began to write stories. I hope to one day become better at writing than typing. I found that old encyclopedia volume A, which to me meant airplanes. That old encyclopedia changed my life; it gave me a career I loved. With so little to our names, our family fed many in God's word and from the gardens in our neighborhood.

All those long nights spent in the kitchen, where the warmth of the oven and the joy of our laughter remain etched in my memory. Each holiday we celebrated together for nearly nine years felt like a beautiful tapestry. My time with you was special and filled with love and creativity. Baking cakes became my treasured responsibility, and that brought us closer.

I recall your support during my rocket project, even when a fiery ignition sent flames across our yard. The heat startled Rex, my loyal dog, causing him to dart from my side in fright as he ran to safety. I couldn't help but follow suit, my heart racing alongside his. I'll forever cherish how you swooped in, saving the Space Shuttle from my eager yet reckless hands, fully aware that I was determined to make it fly, using liquid fuel - my youthful projects, while thrilling, were dangerous.

Our moments together are indelibly marked in my heart, and I will carry them with me always.. I miss you dearly, Mom, but I take comfort in knowing that you and Dad are watching over us from the heavens above. My heart is filled with love for you.
