Chapter #1: Gabe’s point of view
My alarm goes off waking me up from the dream I’ve been having about this drop dead really pretty girl with beautiful medium length brown hair with a few blonde streaks, greenish blue eyes that just compliment her button nose, pink lips, with beige skin & she’s about five foot eight, slim, & she’s about eighteen or seventeen. After getting dressed into my usual jeans & an anime shirt I quickly have a bagel & an apple scrolling through my phone wondering who that girl in my dream I’ve been having for the past few weeks is. Then I look at the time and rush upstairs and comb through my blondish brown hair. I ran out the door fast after taking care of my breath. About fifty minutes later… I get out of my car after I make sure to lock the door and walk to school. The school has environmental safe posters on the concrete walls, the floors of the school are rainbow colored like a LGBTQ flag. The school usually smells of sweat, perfume, cologne, and mint from all of the classes. I walk into class as the teacher Mr.Barz says “Today, y’all, we have a brand new transfer student from Paris, France, her name is Nicki, introduce yourself to the class Nicki.” I glance over at the new transfer student and try to hide my shocked facial expression, because Nicki is… the girl from my dream. I hear my mother yelling from the floor below saying “Nicki, get up you don’t want to be late for your first day of school, do you?” I get up with a smile and quickly get dressed into a black skirt, gray leggings, a lavender sweater, and brown boots. After getting dressed, I rush down the stairs like a cheetah & have a bowl of cereal as I scroll through my phone. My mother looks at me and smiles as she says “You're a splitting image of your father!” I look back & say “Thank you mother.” Then I ran upstairs and put my hair up in a braided ponytail. Then I deal with my breath and run down the stairs and grab my bag and start to walk to the school. About 40 minutes later… I start to walk to class thinking to myself this school is so colorful, I really hope that they like me. I knock on the door and ask “Is anyone there?” A young man in his 30s with reddish blonde hair, pale skin, about six foot two answers “Yes, you can come in.” About ten minutes later… teens that look about my age come in. Mr.Barz sits a white board and says to the class “Today, y’all, we have a brand new transfer student from Paris, France, her name is Nicki, introduce yourself to the class Nicki.” A guy about my age glances at me, I glance back. I smile as I say “Hello everyone, I’m Nicki, I’m from Paris, France, I know this may seem a bit odd to some of you but… I love reading fairy tales and how they have happy endings, I always try to find that happiness in day to day life-” A girl with long brown hair, olive skin, and brown eyes looks at me as she asks “Like when a new legends of Zelda game comes out instead of Animal crossing?” I giggle and smile as I say “Not like that, it’s a little more complicated than that, you’ll know it when you feel that warm feeling in your heart, any way it’s a pleasure to meet all of you!” Mr.Barz smiles & asks the class “Who’d like for Nicki to sit next to them?” To be continued… Chapter #2: Gabe’s point of view
I raise my hand immediately not even having to think twice about Nicki sitting next to me and say “The desk next to me is really clean, and if it’s okay she could sit here.” with a smile and give Nicki a thumbs up. My mind: I can’t believe this is really happening, the girl from my dreams is in my school. This is so awesome!! The class period ends ten minutes later. I walk over to Nicki and smile as I say “ Hey your Nicki, right?” Her greenish blue eyes meet my grass green eyes as she smiles and says “Yep that’s me! Anyway, what’s your name?” My mind: Oh my stars! Her smile is as bright as the sun but… not too bright, she’s an angel! “My name’s Gabe, it’s a pleasure to meet you, I was wondering if you’d sit next to me at lunch, if that’s cool!” “Yes, of course!” “Bye, see ya at lunch!” I smile blushing a bit as I start to head off to gym class. The smell of sweat grows stronger as I walk into gym class. I go over to my friend Josh & say to him “Hey dude have you seen the new girl? I asked her to sit next to me at lunch & she said yes!” Josh looks at me and smiles as he says “ It must be our lucky day, I asked out the class valedictorian Emily and she said yes!” All of a sudden the most annoyingest guy in the whole school Cody walks over to me and Josh and says “ Hey nerds, are you trying to make a formula to get girls to like you?” Cody has curly black hair with strawberry blonde streaks, about five foot four, pale skin, a face full of freckles, hazel blue eyes, usually seen in all black clothing. Cody gives me and Josh an evil glare as he continues to speak. “Don’t you dare even think about ruining my chances with the new girl Nicki, if you do then I’ll make both of your lives a living nightmare.” Josh rolls his eyes as he says “Why would Nicki want someone like you anyway, hmm?” I gulped nervously as Josh asked the questions that were on my mind, it was almost as if he read my mind. “Hey, don’t change the topic, or I’ll ruin your chances with Emily over there.” Cody says as he points to Emily pretty loud, almost as loud as the cafe during lunch. Emily glances over at Josh and gives him the call me sign and the wink. Josh blushes as red as a tomato. Cody sighs and looks over at me half sarcastically, half sympathetically as he says “Fine, you can have the new girl.” To be continued… Chapter#2: Nicki’s point of view
I start to head to science class smiling and blushing pink thinking about Gabe, he’s kinda cute and nice like an angel. The girl that cut me off smiles at me and says “I’m Emily, it’s nice to meet you Nicki!” Emily looks at me & asks “Who do you like like?” My mind: I wonder if it’s a date… “I… I’m not sure who I have a crush on yet.” Emily smiles at me and moves her bangs that were covering her eyes as she says to me “You’ll find that special someone that’s perfectly matched for you someday!” I nod my head and smile back as I mutter “Thank you Emily, that’s so nice of you!” About twenty minutes later… the bell rings for lunch… To be continued… Chapter #3: Gabe’s point of view
As soon as the bell rings for lunch I clench my book bag and apply deodorant and run to the lunch room. My mind: Wait a minute… is this a date?!! I hope it is… I run to the cafe and patiently wait for Nicki to show up with a goofy smile on my face. Nicki shows up with Emily, the Emily that I’m assuming Josh asked out. Nicki smiles at me with her beautiful greenish blue eyes as she asks me “Can Emily join us, she wants to bring this guy named Josh?” I hesitate for a moment before saying “Yes.” My mind: Oh my gosh is this a double date? Josh walks over a few minutes later and whispers “You have a crush on Nicki, don’t you?” I whisper back “Yes I might.” I feel my face turning red as a tomato. My mind: He saw right through me. Josh has light brown hair, brown eyes, tall, skinny, kinda clueless sometimes. Gabe has blondish brown hair, big eyebrows, grass green eyes, about like five foot eight, pale skin, a bit of facial hair on the upper lip area, kinda oblivious at times. I walk into class nearly tripping over my untied shoelaces when all of a sudden I feel two arms catch me before I fall down. I turn around slowly to see who it is and to my surprise the person who catches me was Gabe! I smile and look into his grass green eyes and slightly blush. He looks and smiles as he says “Be careful… I… I don’t want to see you get hurt, please?” “I promise I’ll try my best not to get hurt, thanks for catching me.” I say as I look at Gabe. My mind: Why was I blushing, do I like Gabe in that way? Gabe carefully lets me down, and goes back to his seat. I double knot my shoes and go back to my seat, when all of a sudden Emily whispers to me quietly “Girl, you were blushing, do you like like Gabe?” I look at Emily and whisper back “I dunno, maybe I do.” Emily whispers back “Girl I’mma try to get you and Gabe together, okay?” I nod and smile as I walk over to my desk and sit down. I glance up as I sit at my desk fidgeting with my fingers when I see Nicki close to falling. I quickly get up from my desk and run over and catch her. Nicki turns around slowly as I hold her and she looks over with her pretty greenish blue eyes and smiles at me bright like the sun. I smile back at Nicki and my grass green eyes get lost in her greenish blue eyes as I say to her “Be careful… I… I don’t want to see you get hurt, please?” Nicki looks into my grass green eyes as she says “I promise I’ll try my best not to get hurt, thanks for catching me.” I carefully put Nicki down and quickly walk to my desk as I blush as red as a tomato. A few minutes later I glance to my side and see Nicki sitting next to me. My mind: Do I really have a crush on her or is it more than just a crush? About five minutes later… Mr.Barz explains what we’re doing today. “Okay y’all, today you will be working with a partner to create a song and a melody, you get to choose who your partnered up with, but if you disturb your classmates to the point where they can’t get any work done then you’ll have to do it alone, it’s due in one week.” To be continued… chapter # 4: Nicki’s point of view
My greenish blue eyes dart around the classroom as I try to decide who I want to be my partner. All of a sudden I feel someone’s hand tap my shoulder lightly. I turn my head to see who tapped my shoulder. Gabe looks at me and smiles as he asks me “Hey Nicki, would you like to be my partner?” My mind: I don’t have to think twice for that. “Yes, of course!” I look at Gabe and get lost into his grass green eyes as I ask him “Do you have any ideas for what the song or melody should be?” Gabe looks back slightly blushing “No, do you?” “Yes I do, would you like to hear them?” Gabe nods his head and gives me a thumbs up as he says “Yes, I’d love to!” “I don’t think this is the best but… here we go Darling if I could re-write the moon and stars this world could be ours it’d be worth walking millions of miles just to see you smile who knew who knew that one day I’d fall for you if I could re-write the light with ever so might shining so bright it’d be a sight to see I’d walk thousands of miles just to see your smile.” I say blushing red and smile. Gabe blushes a bit and smiles as he says “Oh my gosh that’s beautiful!!” To be continued… chapter# 5: Gabe’s point of view
“If you want to, can we continue to work on this some more later at the library?” I ask Nicki as I look at her. “Sure that sounds good to me!” Nicki responds. “Do you want to sit next to me at lunch again?” “Yes I do!” She says and smiles. The bell rings for the next class a few minutes later. I get up and start to walk to gym class. The strong smell of sweat lingers throughout the halls, smelling of stinky socks, body odor and sweaty P.E sneakers that smell like they haven’t been washed in ages. I push through the crowds, trying to avoid all that drama. Josh walks over to me immediately after I walk into class and asks how it went with Nicki today. “It went pretty good, Nicki and I are getting along well, I like her a lot, she gets me ya know?” Josh nods and says “Yeah dude, I know whatcha mean by that.” as he throws a basketball into the netted hoop and scores! I grab a basketball that I’m assuming was left on the ground by one of the students in the previous class and jump up and throw the brown basketball into the netted hoop and score! A smirk spreads across my pale face as I mutter “Yes!” under my minty fresh breath. Later that day after school… Chapter#5: Nicki’s point of view
A few minutes after the school day ends, I walk out holding my tealish green backpack and a couple of books that I checked out from the school library a few days ago. I hear someone call out my name from behind me. I turned around slowly and the person who called out my name was… Gabe! I giggle and look at him as I playfully call out “Gabe!” He smiles and laughs as he asks “Hey Nicki… uhm would you like to continue working on that music thing with me, it’s so much fun!” I look at him for a moment before responding saying “Yes, that’s cool with me!” To be continued… chapter#6: Gabe’s point of view “Where is the Public library?” Nicki asks me with a curious look on her beautiful face. My mind: Nicki is perfect for me, she’s kind, full of child wonder, interested in fantasy and reading, pretty, I just wanna protect her from harm's way. “It’s down the street, I’ll show you where the public library is.” She smiles at me so bright as though her face is glowing as she says “Thank you!” I smile back and get lost into her beautiful greenish blue eyes as I say “Your welcome about five minutes later… We arrived at the public library. “Quick question, what’s Paris, France like, is it really the city of love as the tourists put it?” I ask Nicki as I open the door of the library for her. The library has rainbow colored floors, similar to the highschool’s floors, with violet walls with a fairy tale like scene painted over it, big teal bean bag chairs, and gigantic bookshelves, some might say a book worm’s dream! “Well Paris, France is wonderful, and yes it is really the city of love.” I smirk as I say “I’ll make sure to visit there someday!” To be continued Nicki’s point of view: Chapter#6
I look at Gabe for a moment then ask “What do you want the melody to be?” Gabe thinks for a few minutes before he says “Uhm… hmm how about the melody is similar to the song from Twilight, One thousand years?” I smile as I say “Oh my gosh I love that song, Twilight is an amazing book series!!” My mind: Gabe honestly understands me, we have soo much in common, I like him a lot! For the next few weeks Gabe and Nicki spend getting to know each other, it turns out that they have a lot of things in common and they become really close. I sat in the first period with Nicki and asked her “Hey Nicki, want to see my Sailor Moon drawing?” She smiles as she says “Yes, I bet you did a really good drawing of her!” I look into her greenish blue eyes and say “Thanks!” All of a sudden when I’m about to grab my Sailor Moon drawing, I freeze as the principal makes an announcement. “Good morning Rainbow-high students, our twelfth grade has a prom this Saturday!” My mind: I should take Nicki to the prom, it’ll be so much fun!
I suddenly hear a very familiar voice from behind me. “Hey skater!” I turn around, the person behind me is… Stacy, my old middle school… crush! I look at her for a moment then quickly look away as I say “Oh… hey Stace!” Stacy has reddish auburn hair with a face full of freckles, small eyebrows, red lips, with blueish gray eyes, short, skinny. Stacy looks at me and smirks as she whispers “Look… my friend group doesn't think I’ll get a date this Saturday, you may not want to but… I just need you to pretend that you're head over heels in love with me for the rest of the school year.” “Fine, I guess.” I whisper back, sighing. My mind: I hope this doesn't ruin my friendship with Nicki… To be continued…Chapter#7: Nicki’s point of view
Right after the principal made that announcement, Gabe and this girl about our age were whispering about something. My mind: I’m a bit jealous, maybe they're just friends, if not… I’ll be happy that Gabe found his special someone. The next two periods felt like they'd never end and at lunch Gabe didn't sit with me. Emily walks over to my table and sits with me. “Girl, I can’t believe that girl would just whisper stuff to Gabe, and have the nerve to sit with him at lunch, who does she think she is?!” Emily says to me looking shocked. “I dunno, maybe they're just friends, I mean Gabe can have other friends, am I right?” I say “Yeah, but if they're more than friends you're more than welcome to go to prom with me as friends.” I smile at Emily and say “Thank you so much, you're a good friend!” To be continued… Chapter#8: Gabe’s point of view
At lunch Stacy made me sit with her and her friend group. I stare off daydreaming as I look over at Emily and Nicki. I feel so bad for ditching Nicki. Later that day close to the end of the school day Josh walks up to me and says “Hey dude, is something wrong, I’m here…. you wanna talk?” I take a deep breath and look at Josh as I say “Yes, do you remember Stacy from middle school?” Josh looks at me and chuckles as he says “How could I forget, she was all you could think and talk about most of middle school years, why?” “Well… she’s making me pretend that I’m in love with her for the rest of the school year but I don't want to hurt her feelings, more importantly I especially don't want to hurt Nicki’s feelings-” Josh cuts me off. “Look dude not to be rude or anything but Stacy is clearly trying to look cool in front of her friends and plus she broke your heart when she rejected you in front of the whole school, and I just don’t want to see your heart broken again.” “Dude you are the bestest friend I could ever ask for, thank you so much.” I say as I hug Josh. Over the past few days Gabe and I’ve been avoiding each other, I just wish things could go back to normal… My thoughts get cut off by the principal. “Good morning students, today is the last day to buy tickets for the prom. I hope you all have a fantastic Friday, and have an amazing time at the prom tomorrow night!” Emily walks over to me and looks at me with her brown eyes as she asks me “Hey girl, if it’s cool with you, do you wanna go to the prom with me as friends?” My mind: Oh my gosh, going to the prom with Emily as friends sounds like a good way to get Gabe off my mind plus, I’d get to dance with Emily, that could be pretty sweetchus. I think for a few seconds before responding. “Yes, that sounds sweetchus!” “Girl, do you want to go shopping with me after school, to get dresses for the prom tomorrow night?” Emily asks me with a grin on her face. “Yes.” I reply with an excited smile. I keep my head down at lunch as Stacy and her friends talk. The lunch room is pretty much a war zone for food fights and chaos to break loose, even though… we’re all teenagers, pretty much adults, or adults. The lunch room usually smells like pizza, hot dogs, french fries, and etc. The lunch room is about the size of the gym with a sky light, a few windows, and is a free for all. One of the people from Stacy’s friend group just happens to be Cody. I smile a bit glad to see him and say “ Hey Cody, how do you know Stace?” He glances over at me with his hazel blue eyes as he says “Stace and I met each other in elementary school and have been friends ever since then.” Cody looks over at Stacy and blushes a bit. “Look I’m really sorry for saying that stuff to you a few weeks ago, don’t worry I’m not actually going to take you know who away from you, I was just messing around.” I teasingly whisper “It’s okay, don’t worry I don’t have a crush on Stacy anymore, I could tell that you like her a lot, I’ll help get you two together if you could help get me and Nicki together.” He turns as red as a tomato as he says “Look I have a plan so we could all get together with our crush/not yet girlfriend, I could ask my band the Boys on the counter to sing the Twilight song: One thousand years Forever on the day of prom then after my band and I sing that song, then you and I are going to confess for our crushes to them then we’ll just have to see what happens from there.” I nod and give Cody a thumbs up as I say “I hope that I won’t regret this.” To be continued… chapter#nine: Nicki’s point of view
Three minutes after the bell rings Emily and I walk out. “Girl, you are going to look amazing in any prom dress, trust me you are really pretty!” Emily says to me as we walk to the mall. “Emily, thank you I bet you’ll also look awesome in whatever dress you pick, because you’re so pretty on the inside and out, trust me!” I say to Emily with a smile on my face. About ten minutes later… We arrived at the mall. The mall has perfume samples, perfume, pizza, pretzels, and Chinese food. The mall sounds like: babies crying, moms yelling at their kids to be quiet, boyfriends and girlfriends breaking up on the phone on speakers for all to hear, pretty much chaos and insanity. “Wow!” I gasp. My mind: So… this is a mall, it’s something that’s for sure. Emily giggles and smiles as she says “Yeah, this is the mall, it’s not what you were expecting it to be like, right?” I nod and laugh as I say “You can read me like a book!” “I might even know you better than you know yourself girl!” I giggle… A few minutes later Emily and I find prom dresses and try a few on. Later after school, Josh, Cody, and I walk to the mall to find something to wear to the prom tomorrow night. My mind: I honestly can’t believe it, I’m almost done with highschool, I still remember joking around with my friends in elementary school as though it were yesterday. “Guys I honestly can’t believe that tomorrow night is the prom, we’re almost done with high school already!” I say to Josh and Cody with a shocked facial expression on my face. “Same, it feels like it was just yesterday when you and I were playing tag in elementary school!” Josh says with a chuckle. “Dude, you wouldn’t be good at playing poker, you’d need to hide your facial expressions and well I don’t think you're good at that!!” Cody says to me laughing a bit. “Are any of you guys going to the prom?” Josh asks, changing the topic. My mind: I’m so glad Cody came up with that idea, I honestly hope that it works! “I’m only going because Stacy forced me to otherwise I’d be going with the person I’m actually head over heels for Nicki… Thankfully Cody came up with a plan that might actually let me and Cody end up with the person we’re in love with!” I say to Josh with a big smirk on my pale face. I walk into the prom with my medium length brown hair and blonde highlights up in space buns with two strands down like an anime character. I’m wearing a long pitch black dress, with high heels, and a white mask covering around my greenish blue eyes since it’s masquerade themed. Emily walks in right after me with her hair up in a ponytail. Emily is wearing a dress as white as snow, with high heels and a mask as blue as a blueberry. Emily looks at me with a smile and asks me “Shall we dance?” I giggle and say “Yes, that’ll be enjoyable!” Emily and I start to do random dance moves like I’m a robot and random stuff like that. I’m wearing a pitch black suit with matching black pants, dress shoes, a midnight blue tie, and a black cape. I used hair gel about a few hours ago now and did my hair like the anime character from the anime series Sailor Moon, the character Tuxedo Mask. The mask I’m wearing is as white as computer paper. Cody is wearing a white suit and tie, black pants, red contact lenses, and a midnight blue mask. I think he might be trying to look like Edward Cullen from the movie and book series: Twilight. Josh is wearing a white suit and tie with pitch black pants, and a blue mask. Stacy is wearing a white dress as white as snow with her reddish auburn hair braided, wearing high heels and a white mask. I look at Cody with a grin on my pale face and ask him “Are you ready for this?” Cody looks back and smiles as he responds “As ready as I’ll ever be.” “Hey Stace, my band Boys on the Counter and I will be singing the Twilight song One thousand years Forever, tonight!” Cody says to Stacy as he looks into her bluish gray eyes and smiles causing them both to blush. “Oh my gosh your band sings so well!” Stacy responds blushing like a tomato making it pretty clear she might have romantic feelings for Cody! My mind: I really hope that Cody’s plan works otherwise I might not get a chance to talk to Nicki and confess my feelings for her. “HEY, ARE YOU GUYS READY TO SING TONIGHT?!” Cody asks his band shouting so loud that someone on Mars could probably hear him loud and clear! All of a sudden I hear this boy Cody from one of my classes shouting “HEY, ARE YOU GUYS READY TO SING TONIGHT?!” My mind: What in the world is going on?! Emily stops dancing for a moment as she says “Girl, I think the boy band Boys on the Counter is singing live at our high school tonight!” “Oh I’ve never heard of them, are they any good?” I ask Emily curiously. “Girl, oh my gosh, only the best boy band around here!” All of a sudden Boys on the counter starts to sing “The day we met, Frozen I held my breath, right from the start I knew that I’d found a home for my heart beats fast colors and promises How to be brave? How can I love when I’m afraid to fall But watching you stand alone? Cody passes the microphone to me and I quickly whisper “Thanks.” My mind: Wow that song went pretty quick, I guess this is the part of Cody’s plan where I confess my feelings for Nicki to Nicki. “Hey, I’ve got to say something to this amazing girl who changed my universe for the better, I’m really sorry, I miss you so much, I miss seeing your smile, I miss the way you laugh, I don’t know why I was avoiding you maybe it was because I couldn’t bare to look into your beautiful greenish blue eyes, I’ve gotta tell you something to, your so pretty, I’m glad I met you, your so kind like an angel, you never fail to make me smile, one last thing, I think I might even be in love with you Nicki.” I say immediately blushing as red as the Christmas character Rudoph the red nosed reindeer. I hand over the microphone to Cody. “I’ve gotta say something that I should of told you a while ago, you look as beautiful as the day I met you, you never fail to make me blush as red as a tomato, when I said it was spicy food that was making my face turn all red, I was lying your the real reason I blush, one last thing I’mma say your the funniest girl I’ve ever met, I think of you as more than just my best friend, I’m head over heels in love with you Stacy!” Cody says as he drops the microphone on the floor unplugged. I blush as red as a tomato and walk over to Gabe as I say “Don’t worry, about it.” My mind: Yesss, Gabe feels the same way, yay!!! I smile as Gabe’s grass green eyes and my greenish blue eyes lock, and hug Gabe tightly. After a few minutes Gabe stops the hugging and asks me “Wait.. a minute, do you feel the same way, if not can we still remain friends?” Right after Gabe asks, I answer both his questions by saying “Yes!” Gabe looks confused “Which one did you say yes to, unless you mean you feel the same way and want us to be both close friends and lovers?!” I smile at Gabe and say “Yeah, why not?” Gabe smiles as he looks into my eyes. “Yes! I like that!” I hug Gabe tightly, blushing red. The end.
