Lily was her favourite flower. I gave it to her.
My precious little daughter, who had just turned four, gave me a toothy smile and started playing with the flower. I never saw her so happy before.
Her angelic laughter filled the house with happiness making it a home. It was mesmerizing. This Lily, that brought a smile on my little angel's face, was the most expensive thing I ever bought.
But my sweet, sweet child soon started crying, probably from the pain or my emotionless eyes that were filled with feeling for once. I tried everything to make her stop crying and hear her laughter once again. But it was all in vain.
My angel have had lost all her hair, despite being of a tender age of four. God, why did you gave my angel such a cruel fate? Birthed from the womb of a poor woman, only to suffer more? Cancer lived at the expense of life, and I wasn't rich enough to continue with the chemo.I knew I was a bad mother, who couldn't even earn enough to fill her child's empty stomach, let alone cover the expenses of the medication.
Suddenly her cries ceased. She was still, motionless in my arms. Her eyes were glistening with tears but dare her throat utter a word? She was just lifeless.
That's when it hit me. She - She was lifeless. She had given up. Just like how I had given up the hope of saving my child.I had became a failure.
My daughter, my angel, my sweet sweet child was gone. Standing near her grave broke my heart. Lily symbolises innocence and purity, a flower devoted upon the completion of course of one's life time.
And Lily was her favourite flower. I gave it to her. The lilies adore her grave.
