I am daughter of Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy. I'm also the sister of Draco Malfoy. I finally got her acceptance letter just before for 4th year just before Draco's 5th year. I should've bloody gotten it 4 years ago. When I should've started my first year but obviously that didn't happen. I had been wondering why I hadn't been accepted earlier. Today is the day I finally get to go to Hogwarts.
"Esme! Hurry up! You're going to make us late!" Draco screamed from downstairs.
"I'm coming Dray!" I yelled back.
Does Draco not know it takes a while to make perfection?
"Not fast enough!" My dad yelled back.
What is with everyone yelling today? It's annoying.
"Lucius. It's her first time going to Hogwarts, she's nervous", my mom told him.
"Well, they can't be late!" My dad kept yelling from downstairs.
Just then I finally finished getting ready. I came downstairs looking as elegant as ever with my flawless skin and gorgeous platinum blonde curls.
"Alright! Everyone in the car!" My dad exclaimed.
We got in the car and my dad drove us to King's Cross Station. Once we got there Draco and I ran into the magical wall that brought us to Platform 9 3/4 with our luggage and school supplies.
"Come on Esme! We're sitting over here." Draco showed me to a private cabin for us.
It was a long ride to Hogwarts but we finally got there after 9 long hours. Since I was new, I had to enter the Great Hall with the 1st years.
"Before you can be seated, you must be chosen into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin." Professor McGonagall said.
I couldn't wait to be a Slytherin. I had obviously assumed I'd be a Slytherin since my entire family has been sorted into Slytherin for generations. I would be a disappointment and failure if I'm not sorted into Slytherin. Many first years were being sorted before me.
"Gryffindor!"
"Slytherin!"
"Hufflepuff!"
"Ravenclaw!" The Sorting Hat kept shouting the houses of first years.
It was finally my turn to put the Sorting Hat on. There were butterflies in my stomach. I need to make my family proud.
"Ahhh, I see an eagerness to impress your family. I see darkness and ambition", the Sorting Hat said.
Please be in Slytherin?
"Best be?SLYTHERIN!!!" the Sorting Hat shouted.
"Yes!" I exclaimed.
I stood uo as Professir McGonagall changed my robed to Slytherin's colors. As I walked to Slytherin's table, the other Slytherins cheered for me. I sat down next to a brunette Slytherin girl.
"Hey I'm Pansy!" the girl said.
"Hi, I'm Esme."
"Nice to meet you. I can't believe you're starting Hogwarts so late. This has never happened before!" Pansy smiled.
"Now I feel awkward about this." I put my head down.
"No need to, you'll fit right in with us Slytherins. I can be your friend if you want." Pansy said genuinely.
"Of course!" I said.
I ate my food and went to my dorm to only find out that Pansy is also my roommate!
"Hey roomie!" Pansy turned around.
"Hey! I would love to chat some more, but it's been a long day and I'm exhausted so I'm going to sleep." I yawned.
"Same. Night!" Pansy went to her bed.
"Night." I shut my eyes.
The next day during breakfast in the Great Hall, Draco told me to come sit with him and his friends. I did as he said because I need to make some more friends.
"So, I saw that you met Pansy." Draco said.
"Yea, I did. She's really nice." I smiled.
"She's only nice to us Slytherins because we are the superior house." Draco was a little too dramatic with that statement.
"Alright." I laughed.
"These are my friends, Theo, Blaise, Enzo, Mattheo, Astoria, and Daphne. Astoria and Daphne are sisters. Guys this is my sister Esme." Draco said.
"Hi Esme!" They all said together.
"Hey. By the way is Pansy in the friend group?" I asked.
"Yea she is and speaking of Pansy, where is she?" Draco asked.
"She said she had some errands to run before class." I answered
"Alright." Draco said.
Just then, Professor Dumbledore stood up to speak.
"Good morning students! It's the start of another great and hopefully normal year. Now all of you, head to class!" Professor Dumbledore said.
After Professor Dumbledore announced that we were dismissed to our classes, I headed to potions taught by Professor Snape. Once I got there, he told us that we would be brewing antidotes for basilisk venom. It was quite easy.
"Impressive. Especially for a new student. You might be able to become a prefect a year early if you continue this work."
Oh, I was definitely becoming a prefect this year. He has no clue of what I'm capable of. I plan to get an A* in every class like no student has done before. Next, I have Defense Against the Dark Arts. On my way there I ran into Draco.
"The Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is insane. She's not even teaching us magic! Please just do as she says alright? Don't give her that Malfoy attitude." Draco said.
"Yep." I spoke.
"Promise me Es." Draco sounded desperate.
"I promise." I reassured him.
She must be that bad if Draco's making me promise to be quiet. I saw a bunch of students coming out of the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom crying. What did this teacher do to them? I entered the classroom and sat next to a red-headed girl from Gryffindor.
"Hi! I'm Esme! Esme Malfoy." I introduced myself.
"Hi, I'm Ginny. Ginny Weasley." She said.
"Nice to meet you, Ginny." I shook her hand.
"You to Esme. But I have a quick question." She said.
"Ask away!" I smiled.
"Are you by any chance related to Draco Malfoy?" She asked.
"Yea, I'm his little sister. Why?" I said curiously.
"It's because... he uh... bullies me, my family, and my friends and I wanted to know if you were anything like him..." Ginny sounded worried.
"Oh! You don't need to worry. I may look like the bitchy blonde Malfoy, but I assure you, I'm nothing like Dray." I reassured her.
"Oh perfect!" Ginny smiled.
We were having fun chatting until a mean old hag interrupted us.
"Didn't you girls hear me? I said open your textbooks to page 205. You girls don't even have your textbooks out! 10 points from Gryffindor and Slytherin!" Umbridge yelled.
I could barely keep control of my attitude and temper. I wanted to say something smart but I promised Dray that I would keep quiet. I would've said something like, leave us alone Umbitch, you're not even teaching us important things like spells to defend ourselves. Instead, Ginny and I took our textbooks out and didn't talk for the remainder of class.
After class, I went to talk to Ginny.
"Ginny! Wait up!" I exclaimed.
"I'm so sorry for getting us in trouble!" Ginny apologized.
"It's not your fault! I'm the one who spoke to you!" I told her.
"Let's just agree to forgive each other." Ginny said.
"Alright! Well, I'll see you, Ginny!" I spoke.
"See you Esme!" Ginny and I went opposite ways.
I then started to walk to the Slytherin common room, when I was stopped by Theo.
"What were you doing talking to a Weasley?" Theo asked.
I knew I couldn't let Theo know I was becoming friends with a Weasley because he would tell Draco. Draco would have my head if he knew I was friends with a Weasley. I had to think of a lie quickly.
"I was just telling her to respect her superiors." I came up with a quick lie.
"Alright." Theo said suspiciously.
I know he suspects that I'm lying but I just have to fake it.,
The next couple of months went by quickly. Before I knew it, it was Christmas break which means Draco and I were on a train to go back home to spend it with our family.
"So, when were you going to tell me that you're friends with Ginny Weasley?" Draco asked.
I looked away and didn't answer him because I know he is.
"Not going to answer me? I sent father an owl about this, so you will have to talk about it later."
Of course, he sent father an owl. I'm definitely getting scolded when we get home. I can't wait for break to be over.
When we got off the train, our father was there. Great, he was the last person I wanted to see. I was scolded the entire ride home. When we got home, I was filled with tears, so I ran straight to my room and slammed the door shut. I jumped into my bed and put my face in the pillow. Before I knew it, I had cried myself to sleep.
When I woke up the next morning, Aunt Bellatrix was sitting next to me."
"Hey little one." Aunt Bellatrix said.
"Aunt Bella? What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in Azkaban?" I asked.
"I broke out when I heard what happened. I'm always here for you little one. Don't worry about your father, I've already dealt with him." Aunt Bellatrix smiled.
"Thanks Aunt Bella." I smiled back at her.
"Of course, little one. Your mother is waiting for you downstairs. Go get ready and we'll take you to the Leaky Cauldron." Aunt Bellatrix got up and left the room.
Aunt Bella always stood up to my father for me. She doesn't have kids, so she always spoils me instead. She doesn't really spoil Draco because he's a lot like father. Aunt Bella always says I'm a mix of her and my mother. I look like my mother, and I have my aunt's attitude. Aunt Bella left a black dress on my chair. I put it on, did my hair and my makeup. I then went downstairs.
My mom was making breakfast while my dad was reading the newspaper. On the top it said.
"BELLATRIX LESTRANGE HAS ESCAPED FROM AZKABAN PRISON!!!" Obviously. It's literally everywhere. I'm not sure she just escaped for me. I know the dark lord has rose again and she did pledge her allegiance to him.
"Morning Esme." My mom said breaking my train of thought.
"Morning mom." I replied.
"Ready to go to the Leaky Cauldron?" My mom said.
"Yea." I grabbed my coat and put it on.
My mom drove us to the Leaky Cauldron which we all got a Butterbeer. My favorite! We spent the rest of the day shopping. I guess this break won't suck after all.
Draco and I didn't speak to each other all break. I was mad at him for telling father that I was friends with a Weasley. He was mad because Aunt Bella put father in his place. They don't have a say in who I'm friends with.
When we got back to Hogwarts, Professor Umbridge was fired. Thank Merlin! Aunt Bella has been lurking around the school since I've got back. At first, I didn't notice but then I saw other Death Eaters outside of the grounds. Like just outside of the school's premises.
It was almost the end of the year. I was named a prefect in my 4th year! I was so happy! This has never happened to any student before. I'm glad that I'm the first. I intend to keep this up. Nobody has a say in what I do with these opportunities, well besides the head boy and girl.
The day I dreaded to come finally came. The day I was forced to become a Death Eater. The Dark Lord came to me while I was in Hogsmeade. Draco and I were shopping for gifts for our friends when he came up to us. Draco acted as if he didn't care. This is a huge decision. We would be sent to Azkaban if people were to find this out. Pledging our allegiance to Voldemort? The man with no nose. But seriously what did happen to his nose? Well, I said yes. What other choice did I have? Disappoint my family and die or work in secret? Our mission was to kill Professor Dumbledore once we went back to school after the holidays. What a crazy first year at Hogwarts.
"Esme! Hurry up! You're going to make us late!" Draco screamed from downstairs.
"I'm coming Dray!" I yelled back.
Does Draco not know it takes a while to make perfection?
"Not fast enough!" My dad yelled back.
