As previously mentioned in the prologue, lowercase has been summoned to be familiar with an academy student. Allow me to explain the familiar program! When you join Rayker Academy you fill out a form that you can have a companion that is more like a pet or a familiar which is more like a friend. Thankfully lowercase was just a familiar, not a companion? The next day he was sent his academy uniform! It was a black suit with gold buttons and a gold thread across the tie. He was uncomfortable but his lack of emotions failed to show this. He folded down his wings into the suit and used magic to hide his horns. He then went to meet the Student he was
assigned to. This kid was top of the class but lowercase was unaware of the kids' name or whether it was a guy or a girl! He went to the designated meeting place and a small child was waiting there. "Are you ok kid?" he asked with a patronizing voice "I'm waiting on someone named lowercase" the kid said in a mature-sounding voice "Oh that would be me. Are you? oh, they didn't tell me your name." He said with a more regular voice "Hm? you thinking I look like a small child aren't you?" lowercase without hesitation said, "Yeah? you do." The kid sighed "My name is Lumy? and I presume you are lowercase?" lowercase nodded "Okay I'll show you to the academy dorm where you will live with me?" lowercase started to nod then stopped "Wait live with you? Are you comfortable living with a demon?" Lumy nodded "I requested this idiot." lowercase said, "Oh yeah forgot about that." So this duo walked to the dorms and lowercase put his stuff in his room "Hey Lumy, can you cook?" he lies tremendously "I'm horrible at it but I can try." He lies to get out of cooking! Then lowercase says "Well better than mine I can't even make cereal" and lowercase wins! "Well I can try'' They then end up watching TV while lowercase eats chips on the couch "lowercase why am I cooking if you're just going to eat chips?" lowercase lies
"Demons need tons of energy for magic so we need lots of food." Lumy sees through his lies "Ah'll make you an extra large serving then" lowercase thinks he scored big "Thanks a ton"
Lumy makes the biggest rice plate lowercase had ever seen. "Lumy? this is a lot?" "Oh? I thought demons need lots of food?" lowercase eats some of the rice "I lied. Sorry." Lumy laughs "Well that was easy!" The next day the two go to the academy for the first time "lowercase! Welcome to Rayker Academy!" lowercase looked at the academy halls "I don't sense very many demons here." Lumy nods "They don't come because they hate humans" lowercase nods "Most demons still have grudges from the war but I don't care much." Lumy looks puzzled "Why don't you hate humans?" lowercase says "I have experience with rude humans and good humans, You are one of the good ones." Lumy smiles "Am I now? How nice."
They then go to their classes in which lowercase gets bored and falls asleep so Lumy has to wake him up "You can't fall asleep midway through class you idiot! You can get misdemeanors for that!" lowercase did get yelled at for it but no misdemeanors. Lumy sighs "I told you?" lowercase shrugs "No biggie I just won't fall asleep next time." Lumy walks on "We have lunch now and the chefs are really good here." lowercase blinks "So there are special chefs here? Cool." The two ate omelets for lunch and Lumy ate ridiculously fast "How do you manage to eat so fast?" Lumy looks up "I don't like wasting time on eating and other petty things of that sort." lowercase eats the rest of his omelet "Ok then?" They finish up their day at school and return to the dorm and as soon as they get there lowercase walks into his room and goes to sleep "HOW DOES HE FALL ASLEEP SO FAST?!" It's just how he rolls. Or sleeps. Anyway lowercase sleeps until Lumy wakes him up for dinner. "Come on let's go dinner is ready." lowercase yawns and then they eat? 4 servings each of Cap'n Crunch peanut butter. "Hey, Lumy how come we are eating cereal instead of your cooking?" Lumy sighs "I'm tired and we need groceries." lowercase sighs "I can grocery shop if need be." The two continued their mindless chatter but unbeknownst to them, someone was watching them? no, observing them. lowercase whips around the soul scythe in hand and flies out the window. "Hey! Where are you going?!" lowercase yells back "I sense another demon!" That was a lie? he sensed an angel which could only mean that his sister or one of her servants was spying on him. He whips around and there is no one there? he flies back in and sits down. "Sorry for my sudden outburst." Lumy sighs "Don't do that again got it?" lowercase gives him a look "Yes master? jeez." Lumy slaps him "Don't mock me!" lowercase smiles "Ok I'll stop." they can rest easy for now but lowercase wasn't just sensing nothing, there was something there? "Tsch! My idiotic little brother reincarnated! How wonderful?" Her servant flies over "Madam he is still able to sense us. He still has angel blood in him!" Uppercase clenches her fist "He needs to be put in his place! I will take him down so he can't upstage me!" She teleports lowercase from his dinner "What the? AH!" He scrambles and then unfolds his wings "Hello my dear brother. How is this life treating you?" She made these sarcastic remarks in a tone of distaste. "I'm not your brother and I don't know you." Liar as usual "Oh you liar. Do you think you can fool me? I still sense angel blood in you therefore you still are my brother." lowercase sighs "You got me Uppercase. I still know you." Uppercase laughs "Still hiding in the shadows I see. You should join me and we could rule this petty world." lowercase chuckles "No thanks. I'm rather enjoying bland life." Uppercase pulls out a sword "Fine then die." lowercase reels "You want to fight me? Now?" She looks at him "What are you scared?"
lowercase summons his scythe. "Not even a little." He rushes her and she blocks with the curve of the scythe poking her hand "Not half bad!" She slices back at him but he easily blocks and hits her in the head making her waver her guard and he grabs her with the curve of the scythe "You done here?" She reinstates her guard and says "My job is to kill you so when you die we can be done." He throws her into a building "OK then you can fight me until you give up." He hits her until she looks like a tiger mauled her "Now are you done?" She sighs "Fine I'll send you back to your dorm brother." He gets sent back to the dinner table and Lumy looks mad "WHERE DID YOU GO THIS TIME?! I am so mad! Stop Leaving!." lowercase laughs "That wasn't me that time it was High Angel Uppercase." Lumy gasps "You got summoned by the high angel?! Lucky!" Then a sound of shattering glass startled them and lowercase had a bullet hole through his chest and he passed out.
