There were several loud pops, screeching tires, then screams. Two motorcycles and a small two door coup veered off the road and into a ditch of the main highway between Washington and Oregon just before the waterfalls. Four or five other motorcycles slowly drove by as if to check for movement then sped off at a deathly pace. There was a sickening silence before one of the riders emerged from the ditch. He was shaken and disoriented. Blood trickled down his face from a gash in his forehead near his hair line. He looked around then dropped to his knees when he saw the lifeless bodies of the two women in the two door coup. The other rider was also gone. About half an hour later and the sound of approaching sirens breached the silence. The man vowed that he would find the group responsible for this. He knew it was no accident.

Part One

Mika

It was dark and still warm from the days sun. Mika sat on the porch swing at her grandmother's house. She was a tall and slender redhead with nice curves. She sat and thought about when she was a young girl. She could remember running around the yard with her sister. She had been a skinny child with wild red hair. Her mother used to tell her how her hair came from her father. He had gone back to Ireland due to family issues when she was eight. A year later her mother and sister were killed in an accident. Her father had come back for a few months but then he stayed away, so she lived here in Oregon, with her grandmother.

Her grandmother was an amazing woman. She took care of everyone. Even though she herself was well into her sixties. She was also tall and slender, you would have thought she was in her fifties. Mika loved her grandmother very deeply. Mika stood, stretched, and made her way into the house to her bedroom. She looked at the photos along the staircase and smiled. Once she was in her room, she put on an over sized tee shirt and slipped under the covers. She laid in bed and wondered what it would have been like to have grown up with her sister. A thought that often kept her awake. She also wondered if her father would have stuck around had the murders not happened. She soon fell asleep. She woke abruptly to her cell phone ringing. She answered sleepily. She shot awake when she heard the sheriff's voice on the other end.

"Mika its Sam. I hate to do this, but we need you down at the station this afternoon. We may have found something on the case." Sam said.

"Yes of course. See you at two." Mika responded. She hung up and went into the bathroom wondering what they could have found this long after the deaths. She showered and brushed her hair. She threw it into a tight ponytail, and then got dressed for the day. She then went downstairs into the large kitchen for coffee. She was met by her grandmother, who was at the stove cooking. Mika grabbed a mug and poured herself a cup of coffee. She added sugar and creamer then sat at the table. Her grandmother was chipper as always. She wore a sun dress with no shoes. She looked up from the skillet and smiled lovingly at Mika.

"How are you this morning?" Authinia asked stirring the meat, potato, and egg mixture.

"Oh, I'm ok Grandma. But I have to go to the station at two. Sam may have found something." Mike responded as a plate was put in front of her. It smelled delicious.

"You know that man has his eye on you. Says such nice things, you might want to tell him." Authinia said eyeing Mika.

"What do you mean, tell him what?" Mika squeaked. Her heart skipped a beat.

"No need to act sly dear. I have known you prefer women since your friend Sophie." Authinia laughed at the shocked look on Mika's face.

"But how?" Mika stammered. She had not told anyone, as she thought they would disown or leave her.

"Child, I know you way better than you think. I saw how close you two were. Eat your food before its cold love." Her grandmother said still laughing.

"I don't know grandma she was special." Mika blew on a forkful and sighed when she took the bite. "I don't want to offend you or disrespect your home." Mika said. She was about to take another bite when she saw Authinia's face. Her eyebrows were raised, and her arms were crossed over her chest.

"Mika May Wills! Who you love is your business. Unless it is detrimental to your health or safety, it would not offend me. Who ever is offended, is small minded and not worth your time." Her grandmother said pushing her chair back and pouring more coffee. She sat back down and smiled sweetly. "Sweetheart, you are beautiful, and anyone would be lucky to have you." Mika sniffled she was amazed yet again.

"Thank you, grandma. I love you so much." Mika said. Her grandmother nodded taking as sip of her coffee.

"So, what do you think Sam found?" Authinia asked furrowing her eyebrows. She wished that the police could just hurry up and solve the case so that her sweet granddaughter could finally have closure and let it go. All she wanted was for Mika to be happy. She studied Mika's face. She worried about her." What is it, Mika?"

"I just don't know what it could possibly be after all this time. Sam has worked so hard on this case." Mika stood and picked up their dishes placing them in the sink. "What if it is nothing, what if it is a big something?" She sat back down and sighed. She couldn't understand why she almost wanted it to be nothing, she was scared to know the truth but needed it at the same time.

"Sweet girl we will do this together, ok." Authinia took Mika's hand. She could feel the pain she saw in Mika's eyes. There was a sudden knock on the door. Authinia stood and went to answer it. She turned the handle and opened the door to see a well-built redheaded man standing in front of her. He had his hat in his hands, she immediately got defensive.

"What are you doing here Maxwell?" Authinia said crossing her arms across her chest. She planted her feet blocking him from entering the house. Max lowered his head. He had tried to come back before, and he had been met in this same exact manner. Max had always been turned away, but not this time. Authinia Miller blamed him somehow for what had happened to her daughter Abigale and granddaughter Evelyn. She did not seem to care that he had lost them as well. Then to top off the pain she then prohibited him from seeing his youngest, Mika, grow up.

"Please I am just here to take Mika to the station. I have been working with Sam. We found a lead that could be something big." Max shifted from one foot to the other. "I would hate for her to find out you kept me from her all these years." Authinia glared at him. He could feel the anger pouring off her.

"I will not be threatened and bullied by you! It is now up to Mika if she wants anything to do with you. Since as far as she knows you made no effort to be in her life. I think I know how that is going to go." Authinia sneered. She glanced over her shoulder quickly when the kitchen sink faucet turned off. She could then hear Mika's footsteps approaching. "You will not tell her anything do you understand." She glared at him again. "I will not lose her to because of you." Mika came around the corner just then and froze. It couldn't be. Not now, why was he back now.

"What the hell is going on?" Mika whispered. Authinia and max looked at her now pale face. Authinia quickly went to Mika and was about to speak when Mika threw her hand up. "What do you mean by lose me because of him?" Mika could tell by the look her grandmother gave her that she was not going to get an acceptable answer. "Dad why are you here?" She asked.

"I came to take you to the station. I have been working with Sam. I can explain more on the way." Max said holding the door for Mika. He felt bad that this was happening this way. But she deserved to know the truth. "Are you ready?" He asked taking a step backwards. Mika nodded fighting back tears and grabbed her purse and jacket. Authinia reached out as to grab Mika's arm, but Mika yanked it out of reach.

"Don't!" Mika yelled and rushed out the door passed her. She got into her fathers rented Buick and swiped at the tears on her cheeks. Maxwell got in on the driver's side and looked at her.

"I am so sorry it is happening like this. Did you get any of the letters I sent, or cards?" He asked. He knew the answer by the way her head hung in embarrassment. "You know she loves you, and in her own way is trying to protect you." Max said as he started the car and pulled out of the driveway. "I was there when you graduated both high school and college. I was told both times to find a ditch." He stopped at a light. "I wanted to be there for you I swear, is there anything you want to ask?" The light turned green and Max took the left turn into town.

"Well, I would have asked why you did not come back but I guess we know the answer to that one." Mika sniffled and wiped her eyes again. She turned in her seat to look at him. "You said you are working with Sam, why?" It was true, she definitely had his hair. What did her grandmother have against him? She thought about it for a second.

"I will explain that with Sam. He asked for my help. I just need you to know that I love you, and I tried to be there for you after they died." He took a deep breath. "I won't leave again, I promise." Max slowed the car and turned into the station after ten minutes of silence. He sighed and got out of the car. He walked around to her side and opened the door for Mika. He held out a hand to assist her and smiled when her hand touched his. He then stopped at the door to the station and looked her in the eyes. "You might not like what we found; I just need you to understand it is the closest lead we have had." Max squeezed Mika's hand. He opened the doors and they walked into the station together.

The station was busy, very busy. People were walking in all directions. The phones were ringing off the hooks. Mika blinked several times and moved closer to her father. Yes she was mad at him, but right now she could only focus on the fact that she was terrified to see what had been found. They made their way slowly to Sam's office. They weaved in between people and Mika winced as someone randomly yelled profanities at the officers. She sighed when they finally reached the office.

Sam was a stocky man in his thirties. He had brown hair and green eyes. He stood by the window with his left hand on the sill. He spoke in a hushed tone to an older woman with greying hair and glasses. Whatever he was speaking about Mika could tell it was important. Five minutes later Sam dismissed the woman and went back to his desk and took a seat behind the large desk. It was cluttered, stacked with files and papers. Not organized in the least. There was a laptop on a stack of file folders, and a cup of cold coffee on a book. Mika and her father sat in the leather chairs on the opposite side of the desk from Sam. Mika looked around the office and saw fishing photos and hunting plagues on the walls. She had known Sam almost her whole life. They were never particularly close due to their age difference; Sam was five years older than Mika. Sam pulled a large file from somewhere on the desk and flipped it open. Mika was surprised he knew where anything was.

"Ok so I think that the best way to this is to just rip the band aid off and jump right in." Sam folded his hands on the file. "First off thank you for coming in, I know this is not the ideal way to spend your day. We received information that Abigale and Evalyn may have been involved with the local gang." The mayhem Riders were a well-known motorcycle gang. They ran drugs across the border. It was suspected that they also delt with guns, but there was no evidence to support that, yet. "We found a photo album amongst evidence gathered in a recent raid of the local clubhouse, with your mother and sister in it. Max, you better take it from here." Sam said looking Max dead in the face when he saw the look of shock on Mika's face. Maxwell stiffened in his seat. He wished there was another way to do this, but all other attempts to get information had failed. This could be the last chance they had to solve the case and get the much-needed answers.

"We need someone to go undercover. Someone they don't know." Max said reaching out and taking Mika's hand. He knew he had no right to ask this or anything of her. "Please sweetheart you're the only one we trust enough to do this." He sat in silence watching Mika's face as she thought it over. He could sense the hesitation. He did not blame her this was a huge decision. "You would have to check in with either myself or Sam no less than twice a month. We will figure out were later. Mika chimed in suddenly. She had questions.

"How long will this take, and what about my grandmother?" This was scary, but kind of exciting at the same time. "I will do it as long as my grandmother is taken care of." Mika said nervously.

"You understand that me and Max are the only ones you will be allowed to contact from your life now?" Sam added in. "It is vital that you understand this. It could be the difference in your safety. These guys are hardened criminals. They will not hesitate to protect their operation. There are a few key players you should be aware of." Sam shuffled some papers around. He pulled a stack of pictures from a box on the floor. He set them out in a line in front of Mika. Most of the pictures showed the typical looking biker guy. What caught Mika's attention though, was a picture of two very beautiful women.

"Who are they?" Mika asked pointing to the photo. She was amazed at how the women were so close in looks and that they were so uniquely pretty.

"Those are the Mitexi twins, Luna and Sage. Sage was killed in a tiff over territory two years ago. Luna is now next in line as it is her father, Arctos Mitexi that runs the show there." Sam sat back and ran his hands over his face. "And gong back to your previous question, I will personally look after your grandmother." Sam said as he watched Mika who was still looking at the photo. Luna was just stunning.

"Ok I'm in. Uh, how do we start? How do we know I can, or will be able to get in?" Mika asked nervously. She looked up to see Sam staring at her while her father had diverted his gaze. Sam cleared his throat.

"We thought of that as well." He seemed unusually nervous suddenly. "We did some research, and it has become clear that Miss Mitexi has a very specific type?And you fit it perfectly." Sam finished. Mika slitted her eyes and turned to face her father. She now knew the real reason that he had contacted her. And it kind of hurt. Max looked at her then quickly looked away.

"I said I would do it so I will. We will talk later dad." Mika straightened up her ponytail. She adjusted in her seat, so she was squared up with Sam and angled away from her father. "How do I start I obviously have never done this before, and how long will I be under for?" She folded her hands in her lap. Sam leaned forward. He seemed relieved that she agreed to continue. Sam handed her several forms. She read them over, signed, and handed them back. He handed her another stack of papers. One was asking for emergency contacts, she put her father down as he was the only one who could know anything. Next was a consent form, she signed that as she obviously agreed. Then there was a contract, this she read carefully, she signed it and was officially a confidential informant for the local police.

The form that had her really thinking was the one that referred to a false identity. She opted out as she couldn't act like someone else. She thought it might help keep her grandmother safe but the having to act like a completely different person was a hard limit for Mika. It was to much lying that way. Mika signed the rest of the forms and handed them back to Sam. He read them over, grabbed a new folder and put them inside. He wrote what looked to be a case number on it after typing some information into the laptop and put the file aside.

"Ok so we can't be totally sure, but we are hoping to find the information and evidence we need within the next year. That is what we are hoping is enough time for you to build trust with the gang, and a relationship with Luna. We will have to play some of it by ear." Sam said authoritatively. "I have put contacts in place for surveillance only at Dom's Bar and Club. This is owned by Arctos and managed by Luna. It is highly trafficked by the gang members. They are having a huge party there on Saturday. This is where we plan on your first meeting with Luna happens." Sam paused when the secretary came back in. She talked low right into his ear. Sam nodded and waived her out. He then continued without skipping a beat. "You will be given a new phone, job at the club, and house near the park. Back story is that you inherited the house from your mother." The look he gave her then sent chills down her spine. "You see the album is not all we found. Abigale had been seeing Axl Rose, Arctos's right hand man." Sam pulled a pack of cigarettes, camels, from his shirt pocket. He offered one to Max and Mika, they accepted. Sam continued after taking a long drag.

"Axl bought the house for Abby. He obviously knew about Evelyn as she followed your mom everywhere. But as far as we can tell, no one knew about you. So we got the house from Axl under the strict obligation that it goes to you, it will remain yours even after the case is done. Don't worry, Axl is one of my informants. He came to our side after the deaths. He is convinced that they were gang related." Sam said when he saw the panicked look on Mika's face. "Axl is the reason we have as much information as we do. I would like to possibly sit down with the two of you, get you more protection" Sam paused again when the phone rang. He answered it with an apologetic look. Mika was happy for the break. She stood and went to the window.

Mika knew she had to do this. She was thinking about what could happen when Sam called her back to reality. She turned and walked back to the chair and sat down. Max came back to attention as he to, had lost himself in thought. He was unsure of this. Maybe he was making a mistake letting his only remaining child get involved in something that could end up in a huge catastrophe.

"It's confirmed Axl will be at the diner on third at noon tomorrow. So, I will need you there as well Mika. We can go over the rest then." Sam stood. "Thank you both, especially you Mika." Sam said shaking her hand. They walked out then and got bad into the Buick. Max just sat there for a moment. Mika wrung her hands together. After a long silence Mika spoke.

"I don't know what is going on between you and my grandmother, but I would like to give you a chance to explain." She buckled her seat belt and waited patiently. Max did not say anything at first. He was unsure of how to move forward and he knew he was about to lie.

"In my opinion Authinia is upset with me for not marrying your mother. Even though Abigale was your mother, she was a little wild. She was almost addicted to the adrenaline she got from extreme actions and crazy stunts." Max ran a hand down his face. "I loved your mom, we just never wanted to get married. We got into trouble together, she was my best friend. So, when I left, I guess she went looking for someone more like her, I never thought she would go gangster to be honest." Max started the engine and pulled away from the station house. "I had to go back to Ireland because," His voice cracked a tiny bit. "My mother was dying. She had emphysema and breast cancer. I feel as though Authinia thinks I abandoned you girls. We were never close. I was gone six months before mom finally passed away. I came back and it seemed as though everything had changed, it all felt different. Your sister was seventeen and resented me, your mom had found some one and you were so shy. I went back to Ireland, but I did stay in touch with your mother. I was gone just for a bit, then the murders happened. I lost two of the most important things in my life. Something broke inside." Max pulled into Authinias driveway and just sat there

''Dad, there is more to it, I can tell, I just don't think that's why grandma is being like this. Leaving to be with your dying mother is by no means abandonment, and grandma is not cold hearted she would have understood that." Mika turned in her seat after releasing the belt. She studied his face. There were tears in his eyes. Max's face was turned down in pain and sorrow. Her heart went out to him. Max griped the steering wheel and sighed.

"When I was twenty-seven, your mother was twenty-three, and Evelyn was three. We got into an argument; we had never fought like that before. I was angry, my pride wounded. I did something I will always regret. I took your sister and left. We were gone a week before I wised up and called your mom. She was frantic, the moment I heard her voice and how scared she was I felt like the lowest form of scum. I took your sister back immediately. Authinia met me at the door. She told me she would never trust me again and honestly I didn't blame her." Max ran his hand over his face again. He half expected his daughter to get out of the car and never speak to him again. Instead, she grabbed his hand and squeezed it.

"Well, I forgive you, just stick around this time ok. I am going to need you." She opened the door and got out of the car. "I love you just know that." Max smiled and backed out of the driveway. Mika watched as his car disappeared. Then she walked into the house. It was quiet and her grandmother was not home apparently. She went to her room and changed into her night shirt. She was exhausted. She plugged her phone into the charger then sat on the bed and took a deep breath. Was she really going to do this, she thought to herself? She shook her head and got under the covers. Mika was asleep in minutes.

At eight thirty in the morning her alarm went off. She stretched and wondered what the day would bring. Mika got out of bed, showered, and dressed for the day. She made her way down the stairs and into the kitchen. Coffee had already been made. She poured a cup and sat down at the table. There was a neatly written note sitting propped up against some fresh flowers from the garden. Mika sighed and read it.

"Mika, I talked to Maxwell. You need to rethink what you are planning. I won't lose you. I will be home tonight I love you. XOXO GMA." Mika sighed again and sat back in her chair. She loved her grandmother, and she fully understood the concern, but she had to do this. She needed to find out the truth. She stood and went to the front door. Mika picked up her keys and purse then opened the door and screamed. She took a step back and caught her breath. Standing in the doorway was Her ex-girlfriend, Sophie. Sophie was a short blond with a muscular build She had a suitcase and flowers. Mika was speechless she had not heard from Sophie in seven months.

"Hey babe, I'm home." Sophie pushed a strand of hair from her face. "I'm sorry for disappearing for so long, Babe what's wrong, you look like you have seen a ghost." Sophie said chuckling lightly when she saw Mika's face. Sophie and Mika had met in the eighth grade. Sophie was beautiful Mika had thought. She had also felt confused because the feelings she felt for Sophie, she thought were supposed to be for boys. Nevertheless, here she was ogling this girl. By the next year they were inseparable. They did everything together. They only got closer as the years went by. But then, when they were in college Sophie found the drugs and they fell apart. They were off and on depending on when Sophie was sober. Until Mika couldn't take it anymore and broke it off permanently.

"Sophie, you did not disappear, I broke up with you and you probably went on a bender. Which mind you I did not mind as it meant you would leave me alone." Mika snapped shoving past Sophie and heading for her car.

''Awe, come on Mimi, you know you missed me." Sophie dropped her bag and followed Mika.

"Don't call me that! I am very busy and do not have time for this. Get your stuff and just leave please." Mika yelled getting into her car and slamming the door. She started the engine and looked over just as Sophie flipped her off. Sophie picked her bags up, leaving the flowers on the ground, and stomped off towards the inn. Mika knew that Sophie might try again. She would just have to stay firm. She did not want Sophie back. Mika inhaled and blew out her breath sharply. Then she pulled out of the driveway and headed to third street.

The diner was called Charley's Grill. It was located right across the street from the city park. It was decent sized place. The grill was in the center of the building, behind a wrap around bar. The tables and chairs were set up around the place in sections. Each section was themed in an outdoorsy way. Mika arrived ten minutes early. She went to a corner booth by the back window. She ordered a sweet tea and waited. It was only about five minutes later when Sam and her father showed up. She waived them over and they sat down. Sam sat across from her, and her dad slid into the booth next to her.

"I hope this spot ok." She said as the ordered drinks. They nodded and made small talk for a few minutes, just catching up on nonsense. A few moments later a dark, curly haired man walked up to the table. He wore jeans, boots, a whit tee with a leather vest, and a gold chain necklace. He was tall and muscular. He slid into the booth next to Sam. He never took his eyes of Mika. He ordered nothing but accepted the ice water the waitress offered.

''Hello Sam, Maxwell, and you must be Mika. She looks like you Max, but I still see Abby in her eyes." Axl stated taking a sip of his water. ''You sure your ready kid?" He eyed Mika. Axl hoped she was tougher than she looked. He had loved Abigale whole heartedly. He would do anything to find her killer.

"We have everything in place, Mika. The party is coming up fast, we will need you settling into the house tonight. It is all set up and ready. Here are the keys and the cell phone." Sam said sliding the keys and phone across the table to Mika. "If for any reason you can not get ahold of me or Max, ask Axl. Our numbers are preprogramed into the phone." Mika put the keys and cell into her purse.

"There are a few things you should know before getting into this Mika." Axle said. His voice was gravely, almost scary. He placed a large forearm on the table and leaned forward. "I believe that Arctos was interested in Abigale, she on the other hand was not interested in him. Arctos does not take kindly to rejection. That and she witnessed a gun deal. Abby would never rat, but Arctos is a paranoid guy." Axl explained in a low voice. "Don't worry, no need to be scared, I won't let you get hurt." Axl stated cockily.

"Do you have any questions or concerns?" Max asked. He knew his daughter would do just fine, but he was still worried. He wanted to be sure that she understood the situation completely.

"No, I get the basic idea of what is going on." Mika responded surprised at her own calmness. Max grinned. He knew she was tough. They spent another fifteen minutes on minor details, then Sam and Axl left.

"Are you sure, really sure, really sure you want to do this?" Maxwell asked as they stood by Mika's car. "You do not have to you know." He looked concerned. She was the only family he had left. He was starting to rethink the whole thing. What if something happened to her.

"I know dad, but I do want to. Sam and Axl are right. It is probably the last chance we have, to solve their murders. I need answers. I will be careful, I promise." Mika opened her car door and got in. ''I am going to the house now. That way I can see what I need, and I will grab it from grandma's tonight. I need to speak with her anyways. She does not want me to do this." Mika said starting the engine. Max frowned, he knew Authinia loved Mika, but this was Mika's decision and she needed to let go just a little bit.

"Ok but keep in touch alright." Max patted Mika's arm then watched as she pulled away from the curb and disappeared down the road. He was worried yes but he also understood that Mika needed closure. The only way she even had a chance to get it was to go undercover and find the answers herself. He got into his Buick and headed home himself.

Mika followed the GPS to the address she had been given. She pulled into the driveway and parked, she was totally shocked, the house was beautiful. She looked around at the flowers and one large shade providing tree. The stone walkway led up to a porch with a swing. Mika opened the door and froze. There on the wall, the first thing to see when you walked in, was a picture of her mother and sister. They were sitting on a bench at the city park. Axl stood behind Abigale, they all looked so happy. It made Mika sort of sad. She had not been as outgoing as her mom and Evelyn. So she had stayed with her grandmother most of the time. Mika immediately fell in love with the house. The more she saw the closer she felt to her mother and sister.

Mika walked into the master bedroom and knew her mother had slept here. She opened the closet and smiled. It was full of biker clothes and party outfits. She went through it slowly. She stopped and closed her eyes when she came across a denim jacket, it had been her mother's favorite. She would bring some of her own clothing for comfort and work. She thought laughing out loud. She took mental notes on what she would need as she explored the rest of the house. She could not believe that this house was now hers. She then went back outside and sat on the swing for a moment. She jumped when her phone rang. It was a text message from her grandmother.

When she pulled into the driveway of her grandmother's house, Authinia was waiting for her in the steps. Mika went over to her quickly and gave her a great big hug. Mika and her grandmother sat on the steps. Mika could tell that her grandmother had Something to say by the way she was wringing her hands together in her lap.

"Mika my sweet girl, please don't do this. You could get in serious danger, maybe even get hurt. I doubt Maxwell was straightforward with you about everything." Authinia took Mika's hands and griped them tightly in her own. Mika could see that she was scared. "Maxwell did not tell me much, just that you were going to stay in a different house and help Sam. I do not like the idea of that." She looked Mika in the eyes now. "I do not understand, why do you feel the need to put yourself in harms way?" It was then that she did the unthinkable, she started crying. "I just can't lose you; you are all I have left." She wiped at her eyes. Mika sat quietly for a moment.

"Don't cry grandma, I will be ok. Sam explained everything. He has stuff in place, and I promise to be safe and very careful. I have to find the truth; I need to do this. Dads helping Sam, yes, I am staying somewhere else. As soon as it is over, I will be back home I promise. I have to find out what really happened to mom and Evelyn." Mika pulled her grandmother close and hugged her tightly. "I love you so much grandma."

"I love you to Mika, I will keep you in my thoughts. Please be careful, I am going to miss you a lot." They hugged again. They both stood and went into the house. Authinia went into the front room to her favorite chair. Mika went upstairs to pack. She stopped at the first closet and pulled out a large suitcase and duffle bag. She then went and set the bags on her bed. She just stood there thinking for a moment. Then she went to the closet and grabbed clothes that would be appropriate for a job at a club. She put her clothes and towels into the suitcase and shower stuff and makeup into the duffle bag. She also put her favorite blanket in the suitcase. The process took about an hour and a half. Mika sat on the floor when she was finished packing and thought about her life in that house. All the memories flooded her mind and she wiped tears away. She looked around at the now empty looking room. She stood, grabbed the bags, and headed back downstairs. Mika set the bags by the door and walked into the front room to say goodbye to her grandmother. Authinia was already asleep in the chair with family Feud playing on the television. She leaned over and kissed her grandmother's cheek. She went back to the door, grabbed her bags, and went to load them in the car. Mika loaded the bags and headed to her new home. She was excited, scared, and nervous all at the same time. What would she learn, she wondered as she drove, and what would this woman, Luna Mitexi be like.

PART TWO

LUNA

Luna paced the office. The bar was being prepared for the party that night. To top off the stress, they had a new bartender starting that night as well. She sat down behind the desk and pulled the hair tie out of her long black hair. It fell smoothly over her tattooed shoulders. She was tall and curvy. Her skin was tan from sun. Luna ran her fingers through her hair and sighed. She wondered about the woman taking the position as bartender. Hoped she would be better than the last girl who was never on time, and had strangely disappeared with only forty eight hours to fill her spot. There was an hour until opening. She looked up and froze when there was a tap on the door frame. Standing in the doorway was a goddess with red curly hair. She was skinny but curvaceous. Luna rubbed her face, nope not dreaming.

"Uh hello, I'm Mika, I was told to come see you before opening." She stood there awkwardly. Luna cleared her throat and walked around the desk, she leaned back against it. She looked Mika over. She was in black shorts that clung to her hips, and a white halter styled crop top. Her hair wildly framing her face.

"Yes, of course, I'm sorry it has been crazy today." Luna said as she reached for a folder of papers. "So did Milo already show you the bar?" She pulled a piece of paper out of the folder and handed it to Mika.

"Yes, he did, it is a nice place." Mika responded taking the paper and looking at it.

"Thank you, this is your schedule. If there are changes, I'll let you know, if you need a change find me. You are the only staff allowed during meetings other than Milo. What happens here, stays here." Luna said in her best boss voice.

"Yes ma'am." Mika gulped; she was having a difficult time keeping her eyes off Luna. The pictures Sam had did not do her justice. She did not know it, but Luna was having the same problem. Neither of them had ever felt a pull like this to another person.

"Please Luna is fine." Their eyes met and it sent sparks through them both. Luna had a feeling that Mika was going to be an adventure to get to know. "Here is the schedule for deliveries." Luna said pointing to a board on the wall. "Milo usually handles them, but if he is in a meeting, you may be required to sign for them. That is it for now, let's get out there and I will show you how we prep the bar one more time." She gestured for Mika to go through the door first. She bit her lip. Mika's body was so tiny and cute. She needed to get her head straight, and fast. Twenty minutes later she was standing back watching Mika take care of the first wave of party goers. She did not see Milo approach her. This short, stocky, bearded man was sneaky as hell. She jumped when he finally spoke. His voice was seductively low.

"Hey Lue! New girl is hot, and very good with people. Just your type right!" He teased. He smirked then grunted when Luna's elbow playfully jabbed him in the ribs.

"She is beautiful, and yes definitely able to do the job." Luna responded ignoring the quip about her being Luna's type. She was completely unaware that she was smiling from ear to ear.

"So, invite her to the after party." Milo watched Luna's face turn red and laughed a deep guttural laugh." Aww, come on now! Don't tell me your shy!" Milo laughed even harder. "Wow, new girl must be special to have you in knots Miss Mitexi!" Luna walked off into the crowd flipping Milo off and not responding. He was right though, she was not normally this shy.

Mika was happy that it was so busy. It gave her something other than her boss to think about. She moved about fluidly mixing, pouring, and sliding drinks about. She had gotten into a rhythm and was having fun. She was smiling, laughing, and joking with guests. About half an hour later Milo let her off for a break. She was grateful for it. She headed out back to the alley for a smoke. Luna saw her leave and followed unaware that she was being watched.

Luna stepped outside and saw Mika leaning against the wall. She stood with one foot braced against the wall as was her back. One arm was crossed under ample breasts, with her hand tucked in her elbow. A cigarette was in the other hand. Luna took a deep breath and approached Mika.

"Hey, you are doing great out there." Luna said shoving her hands into her pockets. That was the safest place for them at the moment. "You know, there is an after party, would you like to go with me?" Luna asked, she was nervous. She knew better then to mix business with pleasure. But as she stood there looking at Mika, she just couldn't help herself. "I'm sorry, it's probably strange being asked out by your boss." She said quickly.

"I would love to." Mika responded in a silky voice. Luna's breath caught, her voice was intoxicating. Mika was aware that there could be consequences, but she just did not care. Mika could not fight the pull she felt towards Luna. Luna approached her slowly, placing a hand on the wall next to Mika's head. Mika saw it in Luna's eyes, she was fighting it to. Mika bit her lip, she shifted and her hand accidentally brushed Luna's chest. Again, they felt sparks. Luna smirked.

"Meet me after your shift." Luna's eyes were fixed on Mika's mouth. She wondered how they might feel against hers, how they'd taste. She could not resist anymore. She tipped Mika's head back with a finger under her chin. Mika's lips were now slightly parted, and her breath quickened. Luna closed the distance, softly kissing Mika. Before Mika knew what she was doing, her body reacted. She had a hand in Luna's hair, deepening the kiss. Mika was surprised at her lack of caution and care. Luna sighed and broke the kiss she knew Mika was hers now. She took two steps back. Mika straightened her hair and turned to go back into the bar.

"I will be in your office in two hours." Mika said softly. Luna nodded and followed her back inside. Luna went back to her office and was met by an angry blond with an attitude from hell. The Blond started yelling before she could ask her anything.

"Stay away from Mika! Bitch! She is meant to be with me." The blond crossed her arms and planted her feet defiantly. It took Luna a second to react. The blond was completely unaware of what she had just triggered. Luna closed the office door slowly. No one told her who she could or could not see. To surprise herself more, Luna was already very protective of Mika. Luna turned and looked at the blond with primal anger. It made the blond take a step back. That was useless in a second Luna was in her face.

"Who the fuck are you, and why do you think you control Mika! You have no clue who you're fucking with." Luna said in a growl.

"My name is Sophie, And I'm Mika's ex only because I got sick. Mika will take me back, I know it. You need to leave her alone she is far to good for you." Sophie scoffed out. She was being extremely rude and disrespectful and was going to regret it.

"Fat chance!" Luna snapped menacingly. "Now get the fuck out of my office, get out of my bar, and don't come back!" Luna sneered pushing Sophie towards the door. That is when she saw the needle marks. "Mika doesn't need a junkie!" Luna snarled Sophie left in a huff. Luna left the door open and stood by the window. She was fuming. Who the hell did Sophie think she was! She must have lost track of time because it seemed like just a few minutes had passed when Mika appeared in the doorway. Luna crossed the room quickly. She closed the door then backed Mika against it. She had Mika pinned, she was so close she could smell the Hawaiian ginger spray Mika wore. She kissed Mika possessively, laying claim to her mouth Mika whimpered in excitement and returned the kiss. Lunas lips drifted to Mika's neck before she forced herself to stop. "Sorry." Luna started but was cut short when Mika grabbed her shirt.

"What! Are you fucking high! I said stop! I made it perfectly clear earlier this week that I did not want you back." Mika yelled, she was pissed off and starting to get scared. She did not realize she had started to shake.

"Whatever Mimi. We both know that you are playing hard to get, or worse, whoring out to that bitch." Neither of them saw Luna come through the door. It happened so fast. Luna grabbed Sophie by the shoulder and spun her around, fire in her eyes. Luna was all but snarling.

"What did your junkie ass just say to my girl." There was a possessiveness in the word my that had Mika gasping. "I dare you to say it again. Didn't I tell you to leave this property?" Luna ragged on pinning Sophie against some stacked pallets. "If I see you here or near Mika again, I will fuck you up." She let go of Sophie who left in a hurry. Luna spun around and gathered Mika, who was still shaking, into her arms. Are you ok?" She asked looking Mika over. There were small bruises on Mika's wrist from being pulled around. Luna lifted it to her lips and kissed it. She looked Mika in the eyes. Mika nodded to signify that she was ok. "Your mine baby girl, and your safe." Mika nodded and followed Luna back to the bar. They ordered drinks and sat down. Luna angled herself so she could see the crowd and be as close to Mika as possible. She had finally stopped shaking.

They talked and got to know each other a little better. Mika told her how she had met Sophie and why they had broken up. Luna listened trying to decipher if Sophie might be a problem any further. She decided she would talk to her father about it. Luna in turn told her about the bar and how she had come to manage it. Luna kept a hand on Mika's leg as they talked. Three drinks later Mika was giggly, not drunk but starting to get there. She leaned over and whispered into Lunas's ear.

"Let's get out of here, I want to go somewhere quiet." Luna paid the tab and waived at Milo. He just smirked and tipped his head. They took a cab to Mika's house. Mika was giggling as they walked up the path. Luna helped her unlock the door and stepped inside. Mika Was still not drunk but definitely feeling the drinks. Mika closed the door and locked it behind her. She dropped her purse and keys on the floor and kicked off her heels. She gasped when Luna grabbed her waist, yanking Mika against her. Mika braced her hands on Lunas shoulders. Luna ran one hand up to Mika's throat gently. She leaned in and hungrily kissed Mika. She was going to finish what they had started in the office. "I slept fine. Looks great thank you." Luna responded taking a bite of eggs. The food nearly melted in her mouth. Mika was doing dishes when Luna finished eating. She stood and put her dishes on the counter. Luna went up behind Mika and placed her hands on Mika's hips. She leaned in close and kissed her neck. Mika turned off the water and sighed. She was scared. Sophie was being unusually aggressive. Mika sat on the couch and thought about what to do while she folded laundry. An hour later she found an outfit for work. She was exhausted. Mika was jolted awake at a knock on the door. She had not realized she fell asleep. She stood and stretched as she walked to the door. She smiled when she saw Luna.

"Hey babe, I hope that you don't mind me stopping by like this." Luna said stepping into the house.

"Not at all." Mika responded. They made their way into the living room and Mika sat back on the couch as Luna looked around.

"Baby you look so tired." Luna knelt in front of Mika. Mika smiled sleepily.

"I'm sorry Honey." Mika said leaning forward and kissing Luna softly.

"It's okay sweetheart." Luna replied gently. "Lets get you to bed. I just came to see you made it home safe anyways." She pulled Mika to her feet and guided her to the bedroom. She helped Mika out of her work clothes and into her night shirt.

"Will you stay?" Mika asked. She felt safer with Luna close. Luna smiled and climbed into the bed behind Mika. She wrapped her arms around her and cuddled her till she was asleep. That did not take long. Luna knew she should go but soon she to was sound asleep. Luna woke breathing heavily. Mika was kissing her neck softly and rubbing her breasts sensually.

"Yep. Thanks." Luna responded and headed back to the office. She leaned against the door frame for a moment. "Hey daddy." She said. Arctos Mitexi looked up from the receipt book. He was a huge muscular man with long graying hair, a beard and mustache. He was a scary figure for sure. His voice was base deep and gravely from years of smoking.

"Hey honey, I heard that you did great with the party. The new bar tenders a hit according to Milo. Great job." Luna blushed. Arctos watched his daughters face. He noticed the color change. Was she actually blushing? He would have to see what this was all about. His daughter was not usually this reactive.

"Yes daddy. Shes very good at her job. Did not have any issues with the crowed and she beautiful." She sat down across from her father. "Her name is Mika, she is funny and super energetic. I think shes going to be a great fit." Luna continued to describe Mika. She finally paused when her father cleared his throat.

"So I take I that you are interested in?. Mika? Just be careful Milo said something about two altercations with some blond woman." He eyed his daughter looking for any concerning reaction.

"Yeah?" Luna pulled nervously at her braided ponytail. That caught Arctos's attention. "It was Mika's ex. A junkie who thinks shes wanted back when in reality shes not. Before you say anything I understand how this sounds." She glanced up at her father then back down at the concerned expression. "Daddy, Mika is different then any one I have ever met. I can't fully explain it yet. I just know that shes special." Arctos smiled. She was definitely his child the same thing had happened when he met her mother. Instant bond, it was a rare phenomenon.

"Well as long as your happy baby doll?.. just know I'm here if you need any advice. Since you did so well this weekend, and I'm getting to the point of needing to lessen the load of everything on my plate, why don't you take over the bar permanently."

"You're welcome honey. Now I need to do the paperwork to transfer ownership to you. Then comes the fun part, you get to remodel or whatever." Arctos said with a low chuckle. He loved his daughter and knew she loved the bar.

"I love the look of the place, I am probably just going to update systems and repair things might paint but not much else." Luna said smiling from ear to ear. Arctos stood,

Part 3: Sam

Mika sat in the corner booth of Charlies Grill again. She was waiting for Sam. She checked her phone, noon, he was not late yet. She was nervous. She was unsure of what all she should report and what should be kept private. She didn't have much to report case wise as nothing had happened yet it had only been two weeks. The first Gang meeting that she would be around for wasn't until three days from now. But she did have a problem to bring up to Sam, Sophie Layton. What had she been doing at the bar, it was almost like she knew Mika was going to be there ahead of time. Ten minutes passed by before Sam showed up. He looked irritated. "Hello, Mika. How are you doing?" Sam asked as he sat down. He raised a hand to gain the attention of a waiter. Then ordered a drink of lemonade when he approached. " I was needing a check in as I heard there was an issue at the bar during the party. I hope your ok."

"Uh, yeah. My ex showed up. Sophia Layton, She was trying to get me to date her again, but I told her no. I am not sure how well that stuck, but on the other hand the plan to get me in with Luna may have worked better then intended?" Mika said slightly embarrassed. She looked down at her hands quickly when Sam stared at her awkwardly. She cleared her throat and took a sip of tea.

"What exactly does that mean?" Sam asked quizzically. He was a little concerned. He did not want to see anything happen to her. He studied her face, trying to decipher the expression. He was about to ask again when she finally answered.

"Well, it turns out that we may be seeing each other as more then co- workers. Now before you flip, it really sorta just happened, a kind of instant connection deal. Completely unplanned and out of our control. I promise I will be careful. "She said when Sam's jaw about hit the floor.

"Mika! What on earth are you thinking! This could end up bad, very bad. What happens if you are compromised? You need to keep a level head about you. What am I supposed to tell your father or your grandmother? I am supposed to keep you safe." Sam was genuinely concerned. Granted she was definitely in now. But if she was found out she might get hurt.

"I know, I know but in my defense it could have already gone bad when I was confronted by Sophie, but Luna defended me. She is amazing and I can't really explain it I just feel that this may be the only way to make it work." Mika stated. She was going to be careful. But she wasn't going to leave Luna. She would spill everything first, that is how strongly she felt. Sam sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. All he could do was watch her back and be there when she needed him. She was a smart woman and could take care of her self.

They chatted a bit more about the set up of the bar and some of the members she might need to keep an eye on, then Sam had to get back to the office. He said good bye and watched as she drove away. He would make sure and check on the information he had been given. He had to keep her safe. He was pretty busy for the rest of the day. But he made sure to give Authinia an update so she would know that her granddaughter was safe. He was just packing up for the day when e received a phone call from Max.

"Hello, Max how are you, yes I actually just saw her. She seemed well and is exactly where we wanted her. No Mrs. Mitexi did not waste any time getting her hands on Mika we were definatley right. No Sophie will not be an issue I will handle her myself. Mika Knows everything she needs to lets keep it that way." he hung up and thought for a moment. He did not appreciate Max talking to him like he did not know he was doing. He was in fact doing everything he could to not let anyone know the truth and it would stay that way.

Sam went to his car and sat for a moment scrolling through the phone. He pulled up the desired number and sent a text. "meet me at the wharf in an hour." he hit send then pulled out of the parking lot. He stopped by a drive through burger joint and got something to eat then headed to the wharf. He arrived with exactly three minutes to spare. He exited the vehicle and sat on the only bench under a street lamp and waited. It was exactly three minutes later when a woman appeared and sat next to Sam.

"You Look lonley boss." Mary Said sitting very close to Sam. Mary had been Abigales Best friend growing up. She had been the one who introduced Abby to the gang at the bar. She was a tall slender woman with jet black hair and pale skin. Her dark eyes were mesmerizing and could captivate the soul. She got thrown out of the gangs group of followers after being caught with drugs ment for arctos and his members. She had fed a few lies to Sam to get in on the investigation, she had gotten in with Sam. He was completely oblivious to the fact she was a cold blooded snake. She leaned in close to Sam's ear and whispered something that had Sam grabbing her by the hair and kissing her deeply. She laughed pushing him back.

"Now, now dear you said you had information for me, I must get my update first handsome." Mary all but purred this at Sam. She was laying it on thick, but hey a girls gotta do, what a girls gotta do. She had an agenda and a goal in mind. Luna's mother had taken something from her. And since she couldn't get back at Ava, she would get back at the next best person, Luna.

"Mika and Luna have hit the ground running. Apparently she was exactly what Mrs. Mitexi was looking for. No one knows shes been placed by us. I'm still not sure why or how you knew that Mika was a match, but it worked. " Sam said trying to pukl Mary in for anouther kiss. She refused and stood.

"Sam, you are doing great! Keep them on track, And make sure that shes in lace next weekend to find the evidence Pointing to Arctos , I know you will do the right thing here as if it fails you will lose everything." Mary said turning with a proud air about her and heading back to her car. She was almost there whaen she turned back to Sam who had stood and pulled his keys from his coat pocket. " Oh, and Sam dear, you are this much closer to the reward I promised." She said turning and getting into her corvette. Sam dialed the phone speaking low to someone on the other end. Then sent a text to Milo and Mika asking to meet in the next two days and not necessarily together. He snapped the phone closed and got into his vehicle.

Mika was sitting on her bed with makeup all around her. She was so nervous. Luna had asked her to go to dinner with her and her father. She jumped half out of her skin when her phone vibrated under her knee. She squeaked out loud and snatched it up. She groaned when Sams name flashed across her screen. She'd respond later. She stood and walked to the closet. She chose leather pants and a v necked frilly top. She did her hair in a messy but sexy up do. Then finished her make up. Her doorbell rang at exactly eight o'clock. She answered it and saw Luna standing there with fresh cut lillys and a smirk on her face.

"Well you look just stunning baby girl." Luna said rubbing her thumb across her bottom lip as she looked Mika up and down. She was amazed at how beautiful Mika looked. She leaned in and gave Mika a kiss. Then Mika closed and locked her door and walked to luna's car. They drove in silence and Mika was surprised when they pulled up to the fanciest sushi restaurant in town. They entered the building and were quickly seated. Luna's father had not arrived yet. They ordered sake and waited. It wasn't long until Arctos joined them. He sat and ordered a beer then opened the menu.

"So, you must be Mike. Luna has told me a lot about you sweetheart. She was correct, you are beautiful." He said taking Mikas hand in his. He was laying on the charm thick. Luna eyed him but smiled. Mika blushed and looked down at her menu.

"Thank you. I think shes gorgeous as well." Mika said with an innocent smile on her face. She glanced over at Luna and laughed at the expression on her face. She was all red and adorable looking.

"Yes she is. He looks so much like her mother. It's nice to see my wifes eyes when I look at her." Arctos said closing his menu. "Do we know what we want ladies?" He asked. When they nodded he waved the waitress over. The placed their orders and sat back to enjoy some light conversation while they waited. Mika was asstounded at how fluidly and easy it was with Luna's father. He was funny and sweet, no where near as scary as she had thought he was going to be.

"Dad, I think that Mika is an amazing addition to the bar as well. The customers love her and Milo has been singing her praises, he has actually mellowed out since Mika started its great." Luna said just as the waitress brought out a huge array of sushi and miso soup. Luna smiled a thank you and slid her hand under the table to grip Mika's thigh softly. She heard Mika's breath catch softly and smiled more. "I think I want to take Mika with me to the tattoo convention this next weekend." Luna picked a piece of sushi up and looked it over as she spoke. She then ate it and let out a satisfied yum.

"That would be fun for yo both. Maybe you could convince her to get one if she doesn't already have one" Arctos responded teasingly. He sipped on the soup. He watched their faces with a grin. "I think a lilly or rose would fit her well." He continued.

"Haha maybe I never really thought about tattoos much before. I mean they are beautiful, I just never imagined myself with them." Mika said eating some sushi. She looked over at Luna who was studying her.

"I think dads right. A lily or a rose would be beautiful right here." Luna said tracing a finger over Mikas shoulder blade. I also think that even though shes only been on a month she has shown great potential. What do you think about introducing her to the club, as my partner? " Luna said sweetly. "I think if we are going to be an item she needs to be part of my everyday life, see how she handles." Luna looked from Mika to her father. Arctos seemed to mule it over and was quiet for a few moments.

"I think that's a great idea. We have our community charter ride coming up. Be the best time to introduce her I think." Arctos stated as he ate the last of the sushi. Mika was stunned. Introduce her to the club, like as a member? This was all happening so fast. She drank the rest of her sake quickly. Then looked at Luna when she realized they were both staring at her.

''Uh, yes, yes that would be amazing." Mika stammered then felt her cheeks get hot when they both laughed. Just then her phone buzzed. She stood and excused her self from the table to use the ladies room. When she had secured herself in a stall she pulled out her cellphone and read the message from sam. It was an update on her grandmother and a request to meet. She hurredly replied with the next available time and day that would be most convenient. She had just closed the phone when there was a tap on the stall door. She jumped. She had not even heard the door open.

"You ok babygirl? " Lunas voice said concerned. "You left in a rush." She said. Mika opened the door and went to the sink to wash her hands.

"Yes sweetheart I am just fine." Mika said washing her hands. Her breath caught sharply in her lungs when Luna pressed up against her back. "What are you doing?" She asked shakily. Her eyes closed and she leand against the counter as Luna kissed her neck and ran her hands over her.

"So my daughter seems to be very taken by you Mika. It warms my heart to see her so happy. I am just curious where you might see this , uh, relationship going?" He said matter of factly. He eyed Mika ignoring the shocked look on his daughters face. " She has had a rough few years, and I would hate to see her hurt. Not that I am implying you will, I just have to be a bit protective when it comes to my last living child. You understand, don't you?" He said sweetly. Mika cleared her tghoat. She was well aware of the sudden tension that filled the room. And how Luna had Tensed with anxiety.

"Well, sir, I am very happy getting to know your wonderful and beautiful daughter. I cant say exactly where we are going as this is all so new still. But I can say that I in no way shape or form wish any harm ever on Luna. She is amazing, and smart, and so capable of everything she puts her mind to. As long as shes happy and willing to share this time with me, I'll be more then appreciative to share it with her." Mika said looking Arctos straight in the eyes. She meant every word. She didn't want to put a lable on anything as to rush events. She was perfectly content just going with the flow, and seeing where they ended up. Arctos sat there with out speaking for a few moments. Mika could see that he was contemplating what she had said. She on the other hand could not tell if it was a good thing or not.

"I'm glad to hear that. At this early stage I would have been worried if you had already made some drastic long term plan." Arctos said smiling with a glint of humor. He totally did this just to see how she would handle herself. He laughed out loud when Mikas jaw about hit the table.

"Daddy! Why would you say that! I mean shes not crazy!" Luna exclaimed laughing. She reached over and grasped Mikas hand. Arctos paid the check and stood. He walked around the table and surprised both Luna and Mika, and hugged Mika.

"What?.what was that for?" Mika squeaked. She was shocked. She had not expected this soft side from him. He was supposed to be a hardened criminal. But all Mika saw was a father.

"For brightening my baby's life. I think that this will be a grand adventure for the two of you." Arctos replied with his hands on Mika's shoulders. He stepped back and smiled at Luna who was looking at him with adoration and love in her eyes. Mika just smiled back at him and then turned to Luna, taking her hand in hers. They walked outside and said goodnight to Arctos who climbed onto his harley and with a saucy rev of the engine, sped off into the night. Luna let her breath out in a huff.

"Well, I think that went rather well. He seemed to realy like you Baby doll." She said as they climbed into Lunas car. They buckled up and Luna pulled out o9f the parking lot onto the almost vacant street. It was almost ten. Mika was smiling from ear to ear. She looked at Luna and placed her hand On Lunas upper thigh.

"Yes babe it went really well, I can see that your father loves you very much. I really enjoyed seeing you two interact and I just really love being around you." Mika said rubbing Lunas thigh. She unbuckled and leaned over kissing Lunas neck.

"MMM, Baby I am driving what are you doing?" Luna gasped griping the steering wheel and trying to stay focused on the road ahead of her. Mika purred against her throat, sliding a hand up under lunas shirt and grasping a breast lightly in her hand.

Mika closed the door and locked it after saying goodnight to Luna. She went into the bedroom and blasted music. She then jumped into a hot steamy shower. After she had washed herself and her hair she sat on the enge of her bed wrapped in a fluffy towel. She thought about her night. She was thinking about the dinner with Arctos. It had realy gone well. It kinda made her wish she had a better relationship with her father. She sighed and pulled a night shirt and silk panties from her dresser. She brushed through her hair then climbed into bed. She was out within minutes.

Sam sat at the counter of charlies grill. He was waiting for Mika. Their normal table was occupied. He sipped on an iced coffee and checked his watch. She was late. It was about two minutes later he heard her laughing. He turned to see her approaching while on her phone. She said goodbye and hung up.

"Hey Sam, sorry I am late I over slept then my car wouldn't start. It took half an hour to charge the battery." Mika said exasperatedly. She smailed at him and ordered a coffee and pancakes. She was in a fairly good mood despite the mornings shenanigans.

"It's alright I am glad your okay. So I was wondering if you had any updates for me. Any word on any upcoming events that could put you closer to the club?'' Sam asked getting traight to the point of their meeting. "MY boss is really getting on me about needing something to keep his boss from pulling the plug." Sam frowned. He had tried explaining to his boss that this would take time. That it was a process. But never the less she had told him to get something fast or they would 0se their backing for the operation. That just could not happen to much was at stake. If it failed he along with other higher ups were in a lot of trouble. For the lady behind his motives would surly raise hell.

"Well it just so happens I had dinner with Luna and her father Two nights ago." She noticed the look that crossed Sams face but chose to ignore it. "He wants Luna to bring me along on the yearly charter ride and meet the Club and learn what they are about. The first stop would be Washington. We would be headed out saturday afternoon. We will be there at least three days. I am not entirely sure when we are going to be back here but it should be by the end of the month as Luna has a party for a grand reopening of the bar on the third since it was transferred to her." Mika explained.

"Okay, thats great, I am going to need updates as you go and if at any point something makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe let me know however you can ok." Sam said. He was relieved that it was going to get moving. He did not want to rush it but he needed to know when he would potentially be able to begin phase two of the plan. Mary was persistent.

"Of course. I am doing my best. To be completely honest I did not expect it to go this fast. I hope that it is not going to quickly." Mika stated without looking up from her food. She was thinking about all that could possibly happen. What if it did not work out? What if she did not fit in and some one got suspicious? She shook her head. She knew Luna would protect her and what was there to uncover yet? She was just meeting the group.

"You are doing amazing. Take your time as long as progress is being made we are good okay." Sam responded gripping mikas hand reassuringly. He did not want any harm to come to her. He did in fact care about her. But he understood for the most part that she swung the other way. "Are there any concerns you have about this or anything else?" Sam asked.

"Well I had an issue with an ex of mine, I am not sure how she knew I was working at the bar but she showed up the night of the party and started shit with Luna. I know I should have brought it up sooner, but I was at a loss on how to do it. She tried to get me back and Luna may have set her straight. But I don't know if or when she will resurface." Mika said letting it all spill out. She took a few minutes to go into a detailed account of what had transpired when Sam looked at her questioningly.

"Hmm, well I can pull her book and see if there is anything I can do to put a better barrier in between the two of you. If she contacts you again in any way please reach out and inform me. I will do my best to solve it. Sam said paying the tab and standing toput his coat on. "I hate to run but I have a meeting in fifteen minutes across town." He said as Mika stood and gathered her things.

"Oh its alright, Oh hows Grandma doing I feel bad I have not inquired about her more." Mika asked as they walked out the door and headed to their vehicles. She missed her grandmother a lot. She had just been so caught up she had spaced asking.

"She is doing well. Shes keeping busy at the local flower gardens and misses you. Maybe you could write her a letter and ill give it to her." Sam sugested openning his car door.

"Yes absolutely I will do that and drop it to you soon ok." Mika said. She waived when Sam nodded and left. She stood by her car and thought for a moment. She needed to figure out what she was going to say to Authinia. She shruged and got in her car. She went to the house and puled her duffel bag out. Mika placed the bag onto her mattress then went into the closet to start finding clothes. She jumped when her phone rang. She answered it and smiled when she heard her fathers voice.

"Hey kiddo, was just checking in on you. Hope alls well, I know you are probably busy.' Max said cheerily.

"I am ok dad. Yes been retty busy around here." She responded placing the phone between her ear and shoulder so she could continue sorting clothing. "I just met with Sam and we had a good conversation. I will be away for a little while not exactly sure how long I have been invited to join Luna on there charter ride." She said pulling her favorite outfits and placing them on the bed next to the duffel bag.

"Please be careful sweetheart. I am happy it is going well, but still worry." Max stated. She could hear the worry in his voice. "Had I known you two were meeting I would have joined. I miss you." Max said. Mika had not realized that Max hadn't been invited to the meet up. She had just assumed he had been busy.

"I'm sorry dad, I thought you were busy. It was pretty basic update and fill in about grandma." Mika said easing her fathers mind. She loved him. Why had Sam not told him they were meeting, that came across slightly suspicious.

"It's okay, I am sure it just slipped his mind you know how hes got so much on his plate." Max said. Mika hoped that that was all it was. "Anyway you need to focus on staying safe yourself okay, it will be fine your strong and smart." Max said confidently. He knew she would be fine. She had to be. They talked for a few more minutes about random things then Max got off the phone.

An hour later Mika wandered into the kitchen and started a pot of water in the kettle for tea. She warmed up some leftover chicken and sat at the counter. She scrolled through her phone as she ate and drank her tea. Just then her phone dinged. She looked down and was surprised at the text from an unknown number.

"You do not know me? but I have been watching you, you are in over your head little girl."

"Who is this? I think you have the wrong number." Mika got instantly scared.

"No I don't. Who I am does not matter. You will remove your self from Luna or you will find your self in trouble this is the only warning you will get." Mika set the cellphone down and ran her hands down her face. Who could have gotten her number.

"Leave me alone I do not know what you are talking about." She responded picking the phone back up.

"That's not true now is it. Leave and its done." The mystery person said.

"What do you have to do with anything? What do I know your not some random idiot texting random numbers just trying to scare people." mika texted back. But she did not get a response. She blew out her breath and went back to her room. She sat on the bed contemplating for a moment. She was confused who could know anything and how did they get her number. She chalked it up to a prank and let go. If it happened again or seemed to escalate she would deal with it then. Besides the person had not given any proof they really knew anything. She put her clothes that she had picked into the duffel bag after putting her toiletries and other stuff in first.

The next two days seemed to fly by. She dropped the letter for her grandmother off with Sam, then paid her phone, electric, water, and internet bills. She got her nails done and her toes a pretty pink color. She contemplated getting her hair done and settled on just trimming the dead ends and a deep clean. She had not heard much from Luna but figured she was busy setting up the bar for their absence. She sat on the couch drinking a glass of wine and relaxing. A few minutes later she got a text from Luna confirming her thoughts and letting her know she would be there later that night so they could leave together early in the morning. This was going to be exciting she could feel it.

Sam sat in his office. It was unusually late for him to still be therebut he had to try and pin pint the route that the club was taking. He was trying to find the best place to set the second part of the plan going. His cell phone rang, he talked low and fast. Then hung up. Maybe he was thinking to hard. Maybe he needed to just wait and see what Mika disclosed. He tapped his fingers on the desk. Sam just hoped that she understood what was at stake. Of course she didn't, how could she. She thought it was just the investigation, the chance of solving the mystery behind her mother and sisters fate. When in reality it was much more in depth then that. Mika was unaware how life and death this was, how one mistake and everything she knew would be gone.

Sam stood and got ready to leave. He would just have to make sure she understood. Even if that meant sinking to the level of the garbage he had sworn to put away. He would do whatever was necessary to keep his love happy. Even kill.

Part 4

Arctos

He sat at his table in the clubhouse above the bar. His fingers intertwined together thinking. He was locking down the last of the route for the ride to Washington. But for some odd reason he could not concentrate. He was getting the strange impression he and the club were being watched. But there was nothing new that he was aware of, except the new bartender. He decided he would make a point of getting to know Mika better. Just to make sure his daughter was not getting herself into some sort of trouble. It is not that he did not trust Luna's choices, he was just leery and he knew he could be paranoid. He just figured that it would be better to be safer then sorry. There was a tap on the door and Arctos looked up to see Milo standing in the doorway.

"Hey, I just wanted to let you know that the route through the coast is blocked due to road work the best path with the least delay will be through the falls, Is there anything else you need before I leave for the day?" Milo asked. He had been through hell with Arctos. They were never far from each other long. Arctos trusted Milo over any body else. He had given Milo the task of keeping an eye on Luna with out Letting her know she was being monitored. And so far he had done an amazing job.

"okay Milo, thanks. I think that should be fine. I don't have anything until tomorrows deliveries, so your free to go." Arctos responded. Milo tipped his head and left. Arctos sat back in his chair and sighed. He felt a change afoot. He just couldn't decipher if it was good or bad. He looked at his cell phone when it dinged on the desk next to his laptop. It was an unknown number , It read, Hey I just felt you would like to know that the delivery for tomorrow is delayed. Arctos scratched his head, all the deliveries that he knew about had already confirmed, he decided to disregard as a wrong number and went about his planning.

Half an hour later he was walking out the door to his bike. He was curious as to how his daughters new girl would handle the ride to Washington. He had to admit that he liked Mikas spirit.
