Story Time
I can't quite explain to myself why my thoughts are like this—it's as if my childhood memories are still so vivid in my mind. I didn't want to remember the ups and downs of those memories, but they always seem to catch up with me.
I left it behind, but amidst everything I experienced, the hardships in life starting from when my parents separated, it didn't become a barrier for me to rebel. I don't praise myself, but I didn't become rebellious. I didn't cultivate anger towards anyone; instead, I focused on improving myself and treating people well because I know the feeling of being ignored.
"I believe that everything happens for a reason," as the saying goes. In Quran, it is taught, "And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient, who, when disaster strikes them, say, 'Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.'" (Quran 2:155-156)
However, somehow, even though I'm okay with our family setup now, I still think, what if my mom and dad were still together? Would my siblings still experience this? It hurts me to see my siblings without a permanent home; we have many relatives where they stay whenever they want. I'm okay, but every time I pray, I can't help but think of my siblings. I don't even post about the food I eat because I always remember them, thinking, "If only life were good, I wish I could eat these meals with my siblings."
To be honest, all I really want is for us siblings to be together. Someday, God willing In Sha Allah.
