The king and the Saint
This is a clear moral tale about greed, cruelty, and the consequences of one’s actions. The king’s mistreatment of the beggar, potter, farmers, and washermen steadily builds a strong pattern of wrongdoing, so the loss of his palace and kingdom feels like a fitting karmic reversal. I also liked that the story gives him a chance to recognize his mistakes and seek forgiveness rather than ending only with punishment. The Saint’s magical response creates an effective twist, though the transition from the king’s request to the palace disappearing could be made clearer, and the pacing would benefit from more detail about the king’s change afterward. Overall, it delivers its lesson directly and effectively.
