If Shadows could speak
The moment that stayed with me was the narrator finding their mother’s shadow and hearing, “I’ll always love you the way you are.” Until then, being turned into a shadow feels like a frightening version of isolation—unable to speak, unable to be understood, and trapped in a form that seems to mirror how disconnected the narrator already feels. That brief encounter changes the darkness into something gentler: not just a symbol of fear, but a presence that quietly remains beside us when nobody else can hear. I also liked the image of the shadow as “taking stand” for the person it belongs to. The ending left me with a tender sadness, especially because the narrator’s longing for their mother feels more powerful than the supernatural event itself.

If Shadows could speak
I love how out of context, this is like non-fiction. But when you read it deeper, it's actually a fictional story.
