I will say I enjoyed reading your story, but I also found it a little hard to follow. In the end I couldn't tell if you were alone or if she found you again?

This has a wonderfully strange, dreamlike momentum. The narrator waking in a flower bed after being thrown from an attic window is such a bizarre starting point, and the details keep that off-kilter feeling going: the ladybug in his hair, sipping dew from a walnut tree, and reading curses carved into a bench. I especially liked the sudden memory of Kathy, the broken shoe, and the late-night pink donuts. The return to the park at the end feels eerie and circular—are we watching a memory, a ghostly reunion, or someone losing track of reality? Very odd, but in a way that kept me curious.
