The central idea is emotionally clear: Tara’s death makes her understand how deeply she was loved, and the scenes with her mother, Sakhi, and Saket carry real sadness. I was pulled out, though, by the story’s rules changing near the end. Tara is repeatedly unable to speak or be heard—her mother cannot hear her, and she knows Saket has not heard “I love you too”—but then she says a final thank-you and “knew they had heard.” That gave the ending a convenient emotional resolution rather than the painful isolation the story had established. I also wondered what caused her death, but the shifting ghost logic affected me more because it weakened the final goodbye.
