Hope for Darkness

Jimmy is a boy the world has already decided to discard — bullied, impoverished, marked by the loss of one eye that no one in his family will explain the same way twice. When a group of older boys offers him something he's never had — the promise of friendship — in exchange for one violent act, Jimmy seizes it without question. What follows is a descent into complicity, betrayal, and irreversible loss, as the same cruelty that shaped Jimmy comes back to claim what little he has left.
