Hope for Darkness
This was a dark and disturbing story, but I found its message very powerful. Jimmy’s loneliness and desperate need to belong made his choices especially tragic. I also liked how the green blanket represented the small sense of safety he had in a world that constantly rejected him. The ending left me with a strong feeling of sadness and darkness. A thought-provoking story about isolation, bullying, and the consequences of cruelty.
