About My Mother
Despite being a story in the realism genre, skillfully seasoned with humor, it is actually a horror story... The gradual loss of cognitive abilities, beginning with seemingly trivial everyday things, is a nightmare for those close to the person. I think anyone who has gone through something similar with a close family member must have experienced at least a shadow of that emotional nightmare again while reading this story.

A wonderful, very readable story, written with a great sense of humor and firmly rooted in contemporary realism. By the way, am I the only one who feels that the theme of “Children are a nightmare! (and teenagers are hell and catastrophe)” has become one of the mainstays of contemporary literature and cinema, turning up everywhere across virtually every genre and style?
