1,000 years had passed since the last voyager set foot in the valley of Eloria. The town, once lively with melody and giggling, had blurred into legend, its name just a murmur in the breeze. In any case, profound inside the core of the valley, tucked away among the silver-colored trees, lay something undeniably more old — a star that had tumbled from the sky, its shine since a long time ago darkened, yet its voice actually reverberating in the quietness.
Amara, a vagabond looking for neglected places, showed up in Eloria just before the colder time of year solstice. The town ruins discussed time's brutal hand, yet something in the air called to her. As she ventured through the disintegrating passage of what was once the town square, she heard it — a delicate, resonant murmur floating through the cool evening.
"Track down me... recall me..."
She followed the voice, her heart beating with an obscure longing. The breeze directed her past the remains, through the thick, twilight timberland until she arrived at a clearing where a solitary stone stood. Underneath it, a weak gleam beat, as though a heartbeat actually lived inside the earth. Amara bowed, brushing away the ice and soil until her fingers contacted something smooth and cold.
The second she uncovered it, the murmurs became more clear. The fallen star, however darkened, still held the recollections of the individuals who once looked at it. Dreams of Eloria's past — of an underneath its brilliant light, group, of sweethearts who made wants for its shine, and of when enchantment actually strolled the earth — overwhelmed Amara's psyche.
Tears filled her eyes as she understood reality: the star had not just fallen; it had been neglected. Furthermore, in that neglecting, it had lost its light. However, she, the searcher of lost things, could bring it back.
With a shaking voice, she murmured her own desire, not so much for influence, nor for wealth, but rather for recognition. The second the words left her lips, the ground underneath her shuddered. The faint gleam erupted into splendor, projecting silver fire across the valley. The vestiges sparkled, the reverberations of chuckling returned, and briefly, Eloria lived again.
Thus, the neglected star was failed to remember no more. Furthermore, in its light, Amara found what she had been looking for from the start — where lost things could be recalled.
