Dexter, Kai, Alex, Mawce, and Max finally got to the woods they were walking to for the night. They all planned the day before to go to the woods at night around 11 PM to hang out. Once they get to the pre-built campfire Kai starts the fire for them. They sit around the campfire on some logs. "Who was the one that built the campfire?" asks Dexter. Everyone looks around at each other. No one says a word so Dexter just shrugs. "Let's tell scary stories", says Kai. "I'll go first", says Mawce. After about five minutes, Mawce finally has a story to tell.
There was this teenager named Ranger. He changed his name to Ranger because he was always playing in the woods not too far from his house. The name Ranger means forest guardian. The name reminded him about the woods. People called Ranger "different". He lived with his mom and his bloodhound. His mom made his dad move out because of the things he did. Stay out all night, put his hands on Ranger's mom, break things and even hurt Ranger so much he passed out for three hours while his dad beat him to get rid of his anger. Ranger has scars and cuts all over him. One scar that stands out the most is the scar that starts at the end of his right eyebrow down to the bottom of his left ear.
One day Ranger was playing in the woods like he always did. He had no friends so it was always him and his dog. While Ranger let his dog off his leash, he went deep into the woods. Ranger wanted to find something he'd never seen before in the woods. Ranger came across a shed in the middle of the woods. He found a diary in the shed. It was old and dirty. He dusted off the diary and flips through it. He sees a symbol in the diary and he touches it. A black figure appears in front of him. The only thing that stands out about the figure is its almond-colored eyes. The same color as Ranger's eyes. After Ranger spends time in the woods reading the diary and learning more about the dark figure, he and his dog go home, and the figure follows.
A week later, Ranger started noticing that people were dying. The weird thing was that they were all people he knew. They weren't people he talked to once, or people he waved to, but people he hated. The people that told him he wasn't normal. The people that told him no one cares for him. The people that laugh at him. The diary said the figure was a demon.
Every day he looked for more information about the figure until he found something in the diary he hadn't seen before. It said, "If you're reading this diary, then that means I'm dead. I couldn't watch that monster keep killing over and over again. I think the figure gives itself the same colored eyes to its owner for a reason. If you have the diary you are the new owner. The figure stopped killing the people I hate, but started killing everyone I loved until I hated myself." Ranger looked at the figure and got up.
An hour later Ranger was at a random house. He knocked on the door and a man opened it. It was his dad. He smiled at Ranger. "It's been a long time since I've seen you," he says. As soon as his dad turned around to walk into the house, Ranger grabbed something he hid in his jacket. "Come in! Come-," his dad stopped talking. Ranger hit his dad in the head with an axe. "Get rid of the body," Ranger said to the figure. While reading the diary, Ranger found out that the figure wasn't a demon, but a monster made by his anger
