In the soft hum of a Monday morning, amidst the clattering of keyboards and steaming cups of coffee, Shekhar sat quietly in a corner of the office, stealing glances at a girl who would never know the depth of his gaze - Riya.

She was radiant, not just in beauty but in the way she laughed with life, the way she talked to everyone with a kind of warmth that made winters seem like spring. Shekhar never found the courage to speak his heart aloud. He loved her - truly, deeply, and silently. He knew every flicker of her smile, every furrow of her brow during work. And in those silences, he had built a world where she loved him back.

But love, unspoken, often remains unnoticed.

His only true confidant was a memory - his grandfather, the man who had raised him like a son and filled his childhood with stories, values, and quiet strength. When his grandfather passed away five years ago, Shekhar felt like a lighthouse had gone dark in his life. Yet, he carried on, believing that love - for his grandfather and for Riya - was his compass.

Fate, however, had written a different ending.

One rainy evening, Shekhar met with a terrible accident. In a blink, his life was no more. But something within him remained tethered to the world. A longing. An incomplete wish.

He couldn't leave - not yet.

His soul wandered, weightless and unseen, bound not by vengeance or grief, but by love. Shekhar had never asked anything for himself. He had only one desire now: that Riya finds someone who truly loves her. Someone who would bring her the happiness he could never give.

Time passed.

From the shadows of office corridors and lonely sidewalks, Shekhar watched over her. He protected her from silent dangers - a missed step on the stairs, a late-night taxi with wrong intentions. He was always there. Her invisible guardian.

Then one day, boy joined the office - gentle, kind, with a smile that mirrored Shekhar's soul. Shekhar watched that boy helped Riya laugh more, live more, and dream aloud. Slowly, something bloomed. Riya's eyes sparkled differently. that boy was falling for her - and she, unknowingly, began to fall too.

Shekhar, from the unseen veil between two worlds, smiled.

He had found him - the one who could make her happy.

And then, one evening, as Riya and that boy laughed together in a sun-drenched park, a warm golden light shimmered in the air around Shekhar. From within that light stepped a familiar figure - his grandfather, eyes gentle, smile unchanged, arms open.

It was time.

Time to let go. Time to rest.

Tears welled up in Shekhar's unseen eyes - not of sorrow, but of peace. His wish was complete. Riya was happy. That was all he had ever wanted.

And as he walked toward the light with his grandfather by his side, the air whispered a final goodbye.

A few weeks later, Riya and that boy sat on her couch, scrolling through pictures from their recent trip. She paused at one - a candid shot of them smiling under a tree.

Her smile faded slowly.

Behind them, bathed in soft sunlight, was a faint silhouette - unmistakably Shekhar.

He stood a little behind, his eyes serene, his face peaceful. And in that picture, just for a second, Riya felt a strange warmth, like someone had blessed her quietly, eternally.

She touched the photo gently.

"Thank you," she whispered, not knowing how or why.

But some souls don't need words. They just love - in silence, in sacrifice, and forever.
