Vinod saw her after 6 months, his heart skipped a bit.

She was a cheerful, active, lively and enthusiastic woman, her laughter was the melody that filled every room, and her smile was the sunshine on even the cloudiest days. Working as a teacher in a reputed school, known for her innovative teaching methods she transformed her classroom into a haven of learning and inspiration, her colleagues adored her a lot but her personal life was stark contrast. Married, but it lacked the marital bliss, her husband was a workaholic, often absent both physically and emotionally, leaving her longing for the simple joys of companionship. She dreamed of spontaneous dates, delightful treats, and shared adventures, but her days were often spent alone.

Vinod was a talented, tall, dark and young bachelor working at the same school as Amyra. His personal life was full of enjoyment and adventures. Vinod and Amyra had always been mere acquaintances in the bustling corridors of their school, but it was the task to collaborate on the annual school event that truly brought them together. His typical Indian parents who wanted their son to marry the girl of their choice, forcing him to meet the girl they would often get the proposals from their relatives, he refused to meet them. Amyra was aware about this.



Vinod had plans for a trip to Lonavala, and when he asked her if she wanted to join, she readily agreed. She mentioned that she wanted to try some alcohol while they were there, and although Vinod hesitated, he eventually agreed. However, things didn't go as smoothly as planned. She ended up drinking too much, and the situation turned into a mess. Vinod had to carry her back to the guest house, feeling a mix of concern and responsibility. As he did so, he felt her soft lips unintentionally brush against his, adding an unexpected and emotional twist to the evening. He was stunned and tried to put her down on the bed as she pulled him towards her and whispered in his ears "Vinod, I guess I have fallen in love with you".

He found himself carried away by the moment. their night turned into one of unexpected intimacy. He too had some feelings for her and that's when their elicit relationship started growing stronger with every weekend going on short trips, dinner date, adventures which eventually ended with the intimacy.



Two months passed by... Things were going well until the day Vinod was absent from work. That day, Amyra tried to call him, but her calls went unanswered. The next day turned out to be particularly awful for her; she had something important to discuss with Vinod. When she finally saw him, he was unusually distant and barely spoke to her. Determined to have a conversation, Amyra suggested they meet at a nearby cafe after work. As they sat across from each other, the bustling cafe provided a stark contrast to the tension between them. She took a deep breath, hoping to bridge the gap that had suddenly formed between them, and began to speak.

What wrong Vinod?? You're acting strange today?sa?.

"Amyra I'm getting engaged soon, my parents got to know about our relationship and are forcing me to get married to the girl I met once. With my involvement in your life I think your marriage will be sabotaged which I don't want."

He tried hard to hold back his tears. She was speechless, with the tears in her eyes she just said "I understand Vinod, I too don't want to spoil your life just cause of my own happiness."



She left. He wanted to stop her but he couldn't,



After a month she resigned from her job and left?..none of her colleagues were aware about it.

Vinod tried to inquire about her whereabouts, but was met with silence. He tried to talk to her through calls and messages?.but was unable to reach out to her. The lack of communication left him feeling anxious and uncertain, worrying about what might have happened and why she was unreachable. He knew he had hurt her.

Back in the present, when he saw her near the maternity hospital, alone and struggling to sit in an auto, his heart ached with the desire to help. Yet, the presence of his fiance beside him held him back. The memories of their past together flooded his mind, making the situation even more poignant. In just two months, he was set to marry, embarking on a new journey with someone else. Torn between his past and future, he watched helplessly as she managed on her own, the moment slipping away like sand through his fingers?.



Back at home he recalled the last time they met, she had texted him "Vinod please meet me, I want to talk to you, please answer my call. It's very important." Something clicked in his mind and he immediately dialed a number to know about Amyra's whereabouts. He managed to obtain her address, the very next day he found himself at her doorstep, he took a deep breath and rang the bell She opened the door, shocked to see him at her living space she couldn't even utter a single word.

"May I come in?"



She stepped aside, still speechless, allowing him to enter. Her heart pounded as she tried to process his unexpected presence, wondering what had brought him back into her life after all this time.

He broke the silence "How are you Myra??"

"Fine" she replied. "How you got my address??"

He was scrolling through her small 1RK house, her answered "through my sources"

"Myra I got to know about your divorce, but what made you stay here in such a small space, that too alone in this situation??? What about your parents?? How do you even manage everything while being pregnant?"

"Amyra, am I the father of this baby."



Tears rolled out from her eyes....the day we met for the last time I discovered I was pregnant and I wanted to tell you the same but you didn't give me a chance to speak.

You broke the news about your engagement, so I remained silent.

That day I confessed to my husband about our relationship and my pregnancy and he sent me the divorce papers the very next day, my parent broke all the ties with me. I was left all alone, I didn't want to give up our baby since it was your only living memory I was going to have forever.

I found this place safe away from our city, where nobody knows me.

He had tears in his eyes he hugged her and cried like a baby. "My parents got to know about us and they were anguished they forcefully fixed my engagement the very same day, we had a huge argument but they weren't ready to understand my feelings for you, I wanted to tell you how much I love you?..but I didn't want to break your marriage so I had to let you go?.since that day onwards I gave up the things I loved to do.

She wiped his tears, kissed him on his forehead and gently held his hands and told him to get married to his fiance.

She broke the engagement, I had told her about us after you left the job, I was searching for your whereabouts. Now when I told her about you she was certain that I never loved her and will never have those feelings for her. I just want to be with you Myra, I want to our baby to happy loving parents.

She smiled, the glow on her face a testament to the joy that radiated from within. It was clear that she had finally found her soul again.
