In the 2oth century education has become a matter of pride instead of acquiring knowledge for wellbeing of an individual. In this connection I would like to narrate a short story depicting the importance of accepting the bad which occurs without one’s knowledge.
There lived a middle class family comprising of father, mother, girl child and a boy child. Girl by name lucky who stood first in all the classes up to 10th class .Lucky along with his younger brother used to go to school daily with lot of ambitions. Her father works very hard in order to maintain the wellbeing of the family. Her mother also supports the family in her own way in order to make her children study well. Lucky was very innocent and her daily activity used to study well and secure good marks in the class. Her parents started expecting from Lucky as she used to secure first rank in every exam. Lucky was more interested in biology. Her friends used to praise her in every achievement. Lucky was born and brought up in a town area where multiple opportunities are not available for higher studies. In 1oth class the lucky stood first in the entire Mandal and everybody started praising her. Few of them guided her to study in nearby city so as to get seat in medical college. Accordingly, the middle class family planned and gathered money from their savings in order to get admission in nearby city for getting medical seat coaching. Till now everything went well and lucky started to feel as unlucky when she joined in City College for coaching.
From the day of admission lucky stated crying because of home sick and college atmosphere was completely opposite. The impact of her home sick was seen on her weekend exam tests. Every day she used to think of her parents, home, brother and grandparents. Even she used to cry for her school bicycle on which she used to go to school. Gradually as days are passing lucky depressed and neglected her studies. Her parents were also depressed. In college rest of the students used to criticize her for not getting good marks in exam. In the first year she merely passed the board exams and in second year she got transferred to the college located in her home town. In the second college also the students neglected her and used to criticize her for not studying well in the city college. Finally, lucky did not secure the medical seat and was not eligible for any course. Relatives of lucky criticized her because her parents spent almost half a lack for her studies but not successful. Lucky suffered a lot and she wanted to stay along with parents at her home. Her motto was clear to stay at home and her aim was shifted completely to stay at home rather studying. At that point of time her wish was to stay at home and none of the comments by relatives, friends affected her. Lucky parents never criticized her and accepted every mistake of lucky and tried to explain her. But lucky was completely in worry and her parents advised her to study something else in order to become a graduate. But as time passed the lucky grew mentally and she joined in biological course and became a central government employee in Indian Government.
In this story being unaffected by others comments or criticism is also a good quality of lucky that every student has to inculcate to accept the things happening wrongly on its own. Every student have ambitions but sometimes time being bad may not be supportive to achieve. In those circumstances even parents have to understand the mental condition of the child in order to grow. Most of the children committing suicide because of pressures from family and comparisons. Never ever compare a child to some other children. Every child is different in their own way. Only thing is time is required for a child to grow and eventually the child achieves.
Through this story I would like to suggest every student and parents to be patient and wait for good time to enter in one’s life. Don’t get disappointed with the slightest failures. When one door is closed in any way there will be multiple doors opened for getting success. In this whole process no one should forget the almighty GOD who definitely shows us the correct path set for us. Education is for enlightment of ones ‘life but not for comparing with others and end abruptly.
In a similar way in every aspect correct time leads us to a desired place of destination.
