Note: This story is related to a famous Otome game called "Love and Deepspace", this story is also one of the theories that players have for the game's plot. I hope you enjoy it:]

"That'll serve as an invitation, make sure you have it with you at the time of the auction, that brooch carries my seal with it," the baritone voice of the man said before leaving me in the hallway after giving me the challenge to be included in the city's biggest auction. I looked intently at what I was holding; it wasn't bad either for the 24-hour hide and seek challenge he set. Desperate as it may seem, just to throw myself into the brink of danger and negotiate with one of the most dangerous personalities in the N109 Zone, the most advanced and technology-surrounded city, I need to do this to get the thing I've been searching for a long time, the answer to the bombing of granny's house a week ago. The auction contains tons of expensive jewelry, dangerous and exotic protocores, protocores that help with anything and everything, in other words, they serve as the gas of the city to keep its economy running, and one of the items for sale is the aether core, the counterpart of the aether core buried in my heart that I need to trace the root of what or who caused the events that led to the death of granny and Caleb, my friend.

You can't just step into that kind of auction without connections at the top, and as one of the hunters who maintain order and seek answers, Sylus... the man considered the mastermind of everything, he is my only key, the main reason why I am in this position. "Miss Hunter, you won't be able to go to the auction if you just keep staring at that, the boss has been waiting for you downstairs." It was only then that I realized I had been lost in my thoughts for too long when Luke, one of Sylus's right-hand men, broke the silence of the entire room. I jumped up from my seat and hurriedly went to the restroom to prepare. It only took me a few minutes, and then I headed to the auction venue with Sylus, my "date." The place looks fancy and extravagant enough to make me fold, but that's not what I need right now. I didn't notice that I was gripping Sylus's arm tighter when he nudged me slightly, "Are you okay?" The concern was evident in its voice, which was later replaced by a mischievous smile. "Are you getting scared?" "You could still back out," he joked while glancing around the entire lobby.

I remained silent as we walked along the path leading to the main hall; right at the entrance, various stones were immediately visible. In my amazement, I didn't even notice that the man had stopped walking. I looked here and he immediately took out his black card, laying it out in front of me. I stared at his face a few more times to see if he was serious, then reached for his hand, "I'll leave you for now, you take care," he replied authoritatively after letting go of my hand. In an instant, his figure disappeared into the crowd of people not far from where I was standing. I occupied myself with buying and looking at the diamonds scattered around, you could tell their worth was in the millions just by their shine, and before long, Sylus and I met again. He didn't let me speak and just dragged me somewhere,

"Where are you taking me?" I exclaimed because of how fast he was walking; the man was about to answer when suddenly the entire event hall exploded, "For what you want to find, the aether core," he casually said while looking at the sky. We are currently on the rooftop and from space, a portal can be seen. A wanderer emerged from there, a dangerous being that immediately attacked us. Sylus fully blocked its first wing strike aimed at me, which gave me the chance to gather my strength. I immediately fired the gun hidden under the fabric of my dress and shot the wanderer in quick succession.

"Sylus, behind you!" I shouted when a new wanderer suddenly appeared, the man occupied himself with stopping it while I continued to attack the wanderer in front of me, "Just a little more..." I whispered, feeling the creature's weakness and sensing my own strength and abilities nearing their peak, a loud bang, and the wanderer fell, which also caused me to lose consciousness. Red? all I see on my hand is red, blood? I lifted my gaze to what was in front of me, though it was blurry, I knew it was a human hand, blurry... extremely blurry, and the only way I could think of was to bury even deeper whatever was embedded in its chest, held by a figure I couldn't fathom in my mind, as if it helped me shorten and end its life. "It's in your hands now... it's yours..." was the only thing I heard before everything disappeared. I woke up to the cold breeze and was greeted by the sad faces of the twins, Sylus's right-hand men, Luke and Kieran. I sat up and followed their gaze to whatever they were staring at near my spot. There, I saw Sylus's body lying peacefully, while a sword was embedded in his chest. Suddenly, everything came back... the wanderer... was Sylus?

"No, it's impossible," I whispered, trembling, and hurriedly approached the cold body of the man, stroking his gentle face, the tears that had been threatening to fall finally flowed, how? "Miss Hunter..." Kieran called me and handed me a hologram device. I pressed the button, and Sylus's hologram appeared. "That's the boss's recorded hologram before the auction," Luke said gently. I watched it quietly while softly sobbing, everything was planned... when he was gone, he would no longer be by my side when I returned... "Sylus..." I whispered as if it could bring back the life I took because of my selfishness, "You're not selfish, don't ever think that, I did this for you... for your happiness." the last line in the recorded hologram before his smile flashed, a smile I would never see again.
