I am just a university student in Pakistan — young, ambitious, and eager to make something out of nothing. The internet was filled with stories of people making thousands in crypto and forex, and YouTube videos promised quick profits if you just “learn the strategy.”
So, I took the leap.
With no formal training and no real risk plan, I started trading. At first, it felt like I was finally stepping into a bigger world — watching charts, calculating profits, chasing pumps. It wasn’t gambling, I told myself — it was smart money. I believed that.
I used my savings — 20,000 rupees. I doubled it. Confidence grew. Next, I deposited more. I took out my university fee — the money that was meant to shape my future — and put it all in.
Then came the crash.
One wrong trade turned into another. I couldn’t stop. I kept trying to recover losses. I sat up all night watching candles fall, hoping for a miracle. But hope doesn’t change the market.
In just days, I lost 120,000 PKR — 400 USDT.
But I lost more than money. I lost my sleep. I lost focus on my studies. I lost my peace.
I started faking smiles. I pretended I was fine, but deep inside, I was broken. I had no idea how I’d pay my fee. I didn’t even know how I’d survive the next semester.
I write this now not to get sympathy, but to give a warning — especially to young people like me.
Don’t fall into the trap of quick money. Don’t gamble your future in trading unless you know exactly what you're doing, and even then, never risk money you can't afford to lose.
