It was the winter morning and there was a town called Elaris, that had slept for a century and woke up in the midst of the sunrise, hidden deep in the mountains. The town is covered in a soft layer of dust and dew where time seems untouched. As the sudden awakening of the town called Elaris, people emerge slowly, disoriented but unharmed. They haven’t aged a day. No one remembers falling asleep, the last thing most recall is an evening celebration 100 years ago.
Ira, an outsider and researcher from a nearby city, arrives after satellite images detect the town “lighting up” again. She is fascinated by the legend of Elaris, a town thought to have vanished after a mysterious storm a century ago. She takes an interview of the townspeople, documenting their reactions and confusion.
Later on Ira finds journals, clocks and calendars in perfect condition- all stopped on the same date 100 years ago. She meets Elias, a quiet boy who was just 11 when the town fell asleep and remains 11 now. Elias speaks of a silent song they all heard before sleep - a strange lullaby only children noticed.
Ira discovers a hidden chamber beneath the town’s old chapel filled with old instruments and books on time, dreams and memory.
She begins to believe Elaris was part of a collective consciousness experiment - or perhaps affected by a cosmic or spiritual phenomenon. A recurring symbol, a circle inside a flame appears in carvings and paintings around town.
The townspeople begin to grieve as they learn the rest of the world moved on, their families gone , their existence forgotten. Ira feels torn between documenting their story or helping them quietly rebuild.
One night, Elias hears the silent song again. A few villagers begin to fall into deep sleep again. Ira realizes it’s not over, the phenomenon is recurring. The town is caught in a cycle. She suspects the town is caught between worlds, a place where time folds in on itself.
Now Ira is left with a choice, she has to decide whether to stay in Elaris, where time has no meaning or leave and carry their story to the outside world. Before leaving the town, she leaves behind a record message for future discoverers, placing it in the chapel.
Now the town finally fades into stillness again, the song humming faintly in the wind, as if sleep is not the end but a return.
