Once upon a time, there was a clever monkey who lived on a mango tree by the river. The tree bore sweet, delicious mangoes, which the monkey ate every day. He was content and happy.
One day, a crocodile came to rest near the tree. The monkey, being friendly, offered the crocodile a mango. The crocodile loved the fruit and returned the next day for more. Over time, the monkey and the crocodile became good friends. The monkey would pluck mangoes and throw them to the crocodile.
The crocodile's wife, however, grew jealous of their friendship. She devised a cunning plan and said to her husband, "If the monkey eats these sweet mangoes every day, his heart must be even sweeter. Bring me his heart to eat!"
The crocodile was horrified but reluctantly agreed to trick his friend. He invited the monkey to his home, saying, "My wife wants to meet you. Ride on my back, and I'll take you across the river."
The monkey gladly agreed. Midway across the river, the crocodile revealed his true intention. The monkey was shocked but quickly thought of a clever way to save himself. He said, "Oh, dear friend, why didn't you tell me earlier? I have left my heart hanging on the mango tree. Let's go back and get it!"
The crocodile, naive and trusting, turned back to the tree. As soon as they reached the shore, the monkey leaped to safety onto the tree and scolded the crocodile. "You betrayed my trust. From now on, I can never be friends with you!"
The crocodile felt ashamed and swam away, while the monkey lived happily on his mango tree, wiser and more cautious.
Moral of the Story:-
Never trust someone who betrays you, and always use your wit to overcome difficult situations.
