A CALL THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING
One sunny afternoon Ishaan walks in his college corridor, checking his phone. Suddenly, it rings---Call From 'UNKNOWN NUMBER'.
Ishaan (muttering):
"Who even calls instead of texting these days?"
(He hesitates but picks up.)
Meera (on call, nervous):
"Hello?"
Ishaan (confused):
"Uh? yeah?"
Meera:
"Oh! Sorry, wrong number!"
Call disconnects. Ishaan stares at his phone, puzzled but slightly amused.
THE SECOND CALL
Ishaan is studying in his college Library studies. His phone buzzes, again a call From 'UNKNOWN NUMBER'. He picks up the call.)
Meera (awkwardly):
"Uh? It's me again. I swear I wasn't stalking you, just? um, dialed the wrong number twice."
Ishaan (teasing, smirking):
"Right. So, should I expect a third call in five minutes?"
Meera (laughs softly):
"Maybe."
Meera hangs up the call, Ishaan smiles to himself.
UNEXPECTED CONNECTION
Ishaan and Aman were eating in college canteen meanwhile Aman teases Ishaan about the unknown call his received from a girl.
Aman:
"Bro, fate is literally calling you, and you still won't flirt?"
Ishaan:
"What if she's a scammer?"
Aman:
"Then at least you'll get emotional damage for free."
Again the Phone rings , Call From 'UNKNOWN NUMBER'. Quickly Aman grabs it and answer the call.
Aman (dramatically answers):
"Hello, ma'am, my friend is single and waiting for you!"
(Ishaan facepalms. Meera laughs on the other end.)
Meera:
"I think I like your friend. He's fun."
(Ishaan snatches back the phone.)
Ishaan (clears throat):
"Ignore him. But? since we've already talked three times, maybe we should at least know each other's names?"
Meera (smiling through the phone):
"Fair enough. I'm Meera."
Ishaan:
"I'm Ishaan."
"Hey! Meera... I am wondering who you really are. What do u say.?"
Meera(softly, with a playful smile): Umm...Lets time decide to unfold the beginning of our journey together."
THE MEETING
(The golden shades of the sunset paint the sky, casting a warm glow over the terrace. Meera stands near the railing, the soft evening breeze playing with her hair. Her eyes sparkle as she hears footsteps behind her. Ishaan arrives, slightly nervous, his heart racing as he sees her waiting.)
Meera (smiling softly, without turning around):
"You're late, Ishaan? But then again, some moments are worth waiting for, don't you think?"
Ishaan (taking a deep breath, stepping closer):
"Maybe? some moments become special only because someone is waiting on the other side."
(Meera finally turns to face him, her eyes holding a thousand unspoken words. She leans against the railing, looking at the horizon.)
Meera (playfully):
"The sky is so unfair, isn't it?"
Ishaan (confused, smiling):
"Why?"
Meera (softly, looking at him):
"Because even when the sun leaves? it still leaves behind its colors. Just like some people? they stay even in their absence."
(Ishaan looks at her, realizing the depth behind her words. He gently takes out his phone, showing her their long list of missed calls and messages.)
Meera:
" Hmm... So, we finally meet."
Ishaan:
"And this time you can't hang up on me."
Meera laughs. They sit and talk, sharing stories and laughter.
Meera(softly looking at the sunset):
"Do you believe in fate?"
Ishaan(whispers):
"I don't know? but I believe in missed calls. Some missed calls aren't really missed...they just wait for the right moment to be answered."
(Meera smiles, looking at him with warmth. The wind blows gently as the two stand together, the city lights slowly flickering on in the distance.)
(They share a warm smile as the conversation ends.)
