I, Rahul, had come to my village after many days, during the summer vacations. This was my first meeting with them here. One day, what happened was that I had caught a cold, and my grandmother was making me drink ginger tea. Suddenly, a girl called out, "Chachi, Chachi!" I was sitting right there, and she came running towards me. As soon as she saw me, she asked, "Where is Chachi?" I couldn't take my eyes off her - her beautiful eyes, those lovely cheeks, and her lips. I couldn't say anything at all. I just pointed toward my grandmother with a gesture.
After that, I walked towards the kitchen. I was placing the leftover ginger tea on the shelf and washing my hands when the girl entered the kitchen. She looked at the boxes on the shelf and asked me, "Is that the ginger box?" I just kept staring at her. Then I looked at the box and said, "Yes, yes, that's the one." Since she was a bit shorter, she asked me to get it for her. I quickly wiped my hands and took out the box. Then she asked for my name, "Where are you from?" I replied, "I'm Rahul. And what's your name?" She said, "My name is Shreya. I live in the neighborhood. And you?" I said, "I'm from Roorkee, just came here because of the holidays to stay with my grandmother."
That was it. That was my first meeting with her, and her sweet words stayed in my mind. My otherwise boring life was about to change because of her.
To be continued...
