The darkness seemed to envelop me completely as I stepped into the abandoned asylum. I fumbled for my flashlight, its weak beam casting unsettling shadows on the walls. The air was heavy with the smell of decay and rot.

As I ventured deeper into the building, the creaking of the old wooden floorboards beneath my feet echoed through the empty corridors. I tried to shake off the unsettling feeling of being watched, but the hairs on the back of my neck prickled with unease.

Out of nowhere, I heard a faint whispering right by my ear. It was soft and raspy, the words lost to the air. I spun around, but there was no one in sight. The whispering intensified, becoming more urgent, sending a chill racing down my spine.

I directed my flashlight down a nearby corridor, and that's when I noticed it. A door at the far end stood slightly ajar, as if someone had just slipped through. A rush of adrenaline surged through me as I cautiously approached the door.

When I pushed it open, a cold breeze rushed past me, snuffing out my flashlight. I was plunged into darkness, the whispering growing louder and more insistent. I stumbled forward, my hands reaching out in front of me.

Then, I spotted a faint light in the distance. It was a single, flickering bulb, casting an eerie glow over a room cluttered with rusted hospital equipment. In the center of the room, a solitary figure sat on a hospital bed, its eyes locked onto me.

I tried to scream, but my voice caught in my throat. The figure remained motionless, unblinking. It simply stared at me with a gaze that filled the room with an unspeakable dread.

As I stood there, paralyzed by fear, the figure slowly rose from the hospital bed, its gaze locked onto mine. I tried to back away, but it felt like my feet were glued to the floor.

Out of nowhere, a voice behind me broke the silence, "Ah, welcome to our humble abode." I turned around to find a shadowy figure lurking in the doorway.

"Who are you?" I asked, doing my best to keep my voice steady.

"Oh, I'm just another guest," the figure said, stepping into the dim light. "And you are...?"

I hesitated, weighing how much to share. "Just a curious explorer," I finally replied.

The figure let out a low, sinister chuckle. "Curiosity can be a dangerous thing, my friend. Especially in a place like this."

The figure on the bed began to inch closer, its eyes locked onto me with an unsettling intensity. The cloaked figure seemed to sense my fear and nodded knowingly. "Ah, yes. Our friend here is quite...persistent."

"What's going on?" I asked, trying to sound brave. "What's happening in this place?"

The cloaked figure leaned in, lowering its voice to a conspiratorial whisper. "This place has a knack for...unlocking certain doors. Doors that are best left closed, if you catch my drift."

The figure on the bed was getting nearer, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly hunger. I knew I had to escape, and fast.

Suddenly, the lights flickered and went out, plunging us into darkness. I could hear heavy, deliberate footsteps echoing from all around.

"Looks like the show is about to begin," the cloaked figure said, its voice oozing with malice. "And you, my friend, are the star of the show.

As the shadows crept closer, I could feel hands reaching out for me from every angle. The laughter of the cloaked figure echoed ominously in the room, growing louder and more deranged.

I tried to scream, but some invisible force stifled my voice. The figure on the bed drew nearer, its eyes glowing with a sinister hunger. I felt its icy breath brush against my skin, and then its lips pressed against mine in a horrifying kiss.

Everything around me began to warp and twist, like a reflection in a funhouse mirror. I sensed my mind slipping away, swallowed by an endless darkness.

The last thing I heard was the cloaked figure's voice, whispering in my ear, "You'll be here...forever."

And then, silence. No sound, no light, no sense of who I was. I was gone, lost in a void of madness and fear, eternally trapped in the depths of the asylum.

When the lights flickered back on, the room was empty. But on the wall, in letters that dripped like blood, a single word was scrawled: "Welcome."
