A boy loved flying kites. One day, his favorite kite tore apart in the middle of the sky. The string snapped, and the kite drifted away. Heartbroken, he threw the spool on the ground and sat silently.
An old man who had been watching came over and said,
“Why do you look so sad?”
“My kite is gone. It’s useless now,” the boy replied.
The old man picked up the broken kite and said,
“Look closely. The wind didn’t take it down, it lifted it higher than you could ever reach. Even in its brokenness, it touched the sky.”
The boy’s eyes widened. For the first time, he realized that even in loss, there can be victory.
Moral of the story is:
Sometimes, what feels like an ending is simply life pushing us higher in a new direction.
