Finn the clever fox, Ruby the cheerful rabbit, and Sira the brave little squirrel were the best of friends.
One sunny morning, Finn bounced into Ruby’s burrow.
"Hey, the weather’s perfect! Let’s go on an adventure!" he said, his eyes sparkling.
"Yes!" Ruby clapped her paws. "Let’s pack a picnic and head to Kolong River!"
"I’m in!" Sira chirped from a tree branch above. "Race you to the water!"
They packed some crunchy carrots, berry pies, and a jar of lemonade, waved goodbye to their cozy homes, and set off down the winding forest path, laughing all the way.
Soon, they reached Kolong River—but something was terribly wrong.
Finn stopped short and pointed.
"Where’s the bridge?!"
The old wooden bridge they always used to cross was gone! Only a few planks floated sadly near the riverbank.
Ruby’s ears drooped. "Now what? We can’t swim across. The water’s too fast!"
Sira tapped her paw thoughtfully. "Maybe… we can build something?"
"A raft!" Finn grinned. "We can do it! Together!"
The three friends got to work. Ruby found strong sticks, Sira gathered thick vines, and Finn tied everything together tightly. After lots of giggles, a few tumbles, and one almost-soggy carrot, their raft was ready.
"Let’s do this!" Finn cheered.
They all pushed the raft gently into the Kolong River, the current tugging at it eagerly.
One by one, they hopped aboard — Finn steering, Ruby paddling with a stick, and Sira keeping watch for rocks.
Halfway across, a big bump rocked the raft!
"Hang on!" Ruby squeaked, grabbing the vines.
"I’ve got it!" Sira shouted, leaning to balance the raft while Finn steered hard to the left.
Splashing and laughing, they finally made it to the other side, dripping wet but grinning ear to ear.
"We did it!" Ruby cheered, hugging her friends tightly.
"Teamwork saves the day!" Finn said, beaming.
"Yeah," Sira added, giggling, "We’re unstoppable when we stick together!"
Tired but happy, they spread their picnic under a shady tree, munching carrots and berry pie while the river sparkled beside them.
And somewhere in the breeze, it almost felt like the river was whispering, "Adventure always finds friends who work together."
