It was a usual workday at the bank. There were many people waiting in line. Business was brisk. A wealthy man walked into the bank and skipped the line, ignoring the others who were waiting for their turn. Leia, a bank teller saw it, but instead of telling him to wait in line, she smiled sweetly at him and without hesitation, took the HKD1000 bill he slipped under her keyboard. Ignoring everyone else, she began processing his request immediately.

Meanwhile, an old man who had been waiting patiently for 2 hours, raised his voice. "Excuse me, Ma'am," he began. "I've been here since morning. May I know when will it be my turn?" Leia glanced at him and coldly replied, "Wait for your turn." Hours passed, and yet, the old man was left unattended. When the bank reached closing hours, Leia smirked. "Come back tomorrow," she said coldly. There was no shred of remorse in her. With his head hung low, the old man left the bank.

The next day, the old man returned. Once again, Leia waved him off dismissively, acting as though he did not exist. She made him wait until the bank reached closing hours and once again asked him to return the next day. The same thing happened for the next 2 days. Finally, Leia snapped, "You really are so persistent. This process takes 2 months, unless you give me 20%." The old man looked at her and quietly said, "I'll come back tomorrow." As he left, Leia quietly smirked, "Good riddance. You look like you can't even afford to give me that money. I hope I don't get to see you again."

The next day, the old man returned, this time in a sharp suit. "You'll get your 20%," he began. "Because this is your last day here."

"What?" Leia snapped, unable to believe what she had just heard. "You don't even know what you're talking about."

"He sure does," a loud voice could be heard from behind. It was George, the old man's son and the bank's manager. "Don't make my dad repeat himself. Pack your things and get out of here. We don't hire unprofessional staff here." With that, he escorted the old man out of the bank, leaving Leia in complete disarray. She had judged clients based on the content of their wallets, and now, she was left with an empty wallet.

Where do you find banks like that? Certainly not in Thailand or UK. https://open.substack.com/pub/colindevonshire
