Three months after the abolition of Article 370, in November, a 19 Year-old boy goes for a job interview. His interview doesn’t go well, and he faces a long wait to leave the place. He starts feeling scared and remembers that the doctor had diagnosed him with tachycardia, which makes him even more afraid of the dark.
While waiting, he notices two boys around his age. He joins them, and they start walking together. As they walk, his anxiety about not getting the job and his fear subside as he chats and jokes with them.
Suddenly, a torchlight shines on the three of them, and they hear a voice shout, “Stop, you mother****ers!” They stop and see Indian army soldiers pointing guns at them. The army reaches them and demands, “Where have you been, you bastards?” The three of them reply in unison, “We went for an interview.”
The army orders them to stand up and show their Aadhaar cards. They comply, and then the army calls their informant. The informant’s face is covered, so the boys can’t see him clearly, but from his speech, he seems like a Kashmiri Gujjar. The army asks the informant if any of the three are who they’re looking for. The informant looks at them and says no. The army then tells the boys they can go and apologizes for their behavior.
As the three try to leave, the 19-year-old suddenly collapses, struggling to breathe.
